1-0 out of 5 stars Very disappointing
I bought one of these as I really liked the way it looked, and for the nature sound feature.
1-0 out of 5 stars Not so good
I bought this clock to use in my kitchen.I keep it set to one station. While sound and time are still fine, after about a year I find it simply will not turn on for days at a time. After about 3 days I tried unplugging it and then plugging it back in.That worked, but that's not what I expect of this device.I am really disappointed as my grandparents used to sell Timex watches in their drugstore and my first watch was a Timex with a radium dial (or maybe they'd stopped using radium in the 60s).I really like the features, but they are hard to remember (one reason why I keep it to one station probably) and as I say, the radio won't turn on nowadays.

2-0 out of 5 stars Difficult to use Junk
1. Very hard to set, you must read poor instruction manual carefully.I've had to dig out the instructions several times as near impossible to just look at clock then set.

1-0 out of 5 stars Lousy product reliability
We've had this alarm clock for 6 months and it suddenly stopped working.I took it back to Sharper Image and was told it was sub-standard and that's why they don't have it anymore. They offered me a $40 credit to buy thier new updated one for $99!Why would I throw good money after bad!!Not only do I not recomend this alarm clock I further warn against purchasing anything from Sharper Image. This isn't the first time they have burned us with lousy products.

3-0 out of 5 stars Don't buy it you need something that won't wake your partner
I bought this alarm because I wanted to be woken up in the middle of the night without disturbing my partner. In other words I was interested in the vibrating feature.
4-0 out of 5 stars Amazing Clock
I bought this clock because I was going to be working grave shifts and sleep during the day, and I needed something that would wake me up with earplugs in. The vibrating disk goes inside my bottom pillowcase (I use 2 pillows) and has never fallen out. This clock actually makes me get up the first time it goes off (much to the pleasure of my wife). I agree with the other reviews... The clock feels unstable because of its small base, but I quickly learned how to hold it to turn it off. As far as a reset, when I get up I turn the alarm to off and then right back on again, that way I won't forget. I highly recommend this clock! ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars A missed target for CASIO
I've owned a CASIO PQ-10 Travel Alarm Clock for about ten years, traveled with it thousands of miles in my bicycle panniers, and it's still running on the original batteries! The alarm switch finally failed, and I really loved this clock, so I decided to try the PQ-15 as a replacement since the PQ-10 is no longer available. I'm dissapointed - the PQ-15 is more than twice the size and weight (4" tall compared with the PQ-10's 1-3/4" height, uses 2 AAA batteries instead of 2 small watch batteries) and bulges in the back for the battery holder.) With a much larger snooze/LED button, although slightly recessed, its size makes it all too easy to activate the LED display and use up the batteries during travel. I'll keep the PQ-15 for some travel, but I think CASIO took a basic, simple, clean design and went too far.In fairness, the PQ-15 control butons are better spaced and easier to use than the PQ-10, but I wish they would have upgraded the PQ-10 and kept the same form factor.

5-0 out of 5 stars great little clock
I've owned this clock for several years - it's dependable, durable and reliable. I find it great to have the temperature readout, in both Fahrenheit and Celcius (that way I can whine bi-lingually when it's hot..).I've travelled with it, camped with it, and use it as my everyday bedside alarm. My only complaint is that the snooze button is set for only 5 minutes per "snooze" - hardly enough.

4-0 out of 5 stars Time: Great Temperature: Not So Great
This clock is compact, easy to read, portable, and inexpensive. There seems to be a defect with the thermometer function, however, at least in the one we bought. It was fine for the first couple of days, but on the third day or so it registered the temperature in our house at over 90 degrees farenheit (about 30 degrees higher than the actual level). Probably not worth sending it back for, but disappointing nonetheless. ... Read more

Asin: B00008W7LM
Average Customer Review: 3.5 out of 5 stars

Editorial Review

The Sony ICF-C630 is a clock radio chock-full of features. To begin with, the clock radio has a three time display; with a simple glance at the clock you will know the current time and the two set alarms. The dual alarm is a nice feature for couples, or for those who work odd shifts at work. With the ICF-C630 you can wake up to FM or AM radio, a buzz alarm or a melodic alarm. The snooze button on this clock radio is extendable, a nice option for those who relish those extra minutes of sleep. To go with the snooze button, Sony has also installed a nap timer. Set the alarm for 10, 20, 30, 60, 90 or 120 minutes and take your nap confident that the alarm will not let you oversleep. Read more

  • Simple and compact FM/AM clock radio
  • Triple time display; automatic daylight savings time
  • Full power back-up uses 9V battery to maintain clock and alarm operations
  • Melodic alarm; nap timer and extendable snooze
  • AC/DC operation; runs on 2 AA batteries or AC adaptor

2-0 out of 5 stars Poor
I knew within 10 minutes of owning this clock that it would soon be on its way back. For starters, when you read this clock is compact, BELIEVE IT; it is roughly softball size.Next, the LCD display is fine if you're looking at it from above eye-level.At eye-level, the display is only about 25% visible at best and a foot or two below eye-level it completely disappears, so if you're giving this clock a home on a headboard, forget it.Finally, the buttons for shutting off the alarms are way too close to the snooze button (pictured, they are the ones just below and right and left of the snooze.)I wanted this clock for two reasons: extendable snooze and full battery back-up, which it has, but the reasons I now don't want it easily outweigh the latter.

4-0 out of 5 stars Nice clock radio
Nice, small, good featured radio. Only thing I don t like is you cannot silently set the alarm, it makes some annoying beeps when you try to set it, at least I haven't figured out how not to. But it is a very nice clock and the radio sounds good too.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great clock radio!!
This is a great little clock radio. Very compact. It is extremely easy to set. I love being able to go backwards and forwards for each hour or minute function. The three backlight levels are terrific. The power cord is detachable, which tells me it will run fine on batteries, but have not done that yet.The sound of the radio is great, but what do you expect from a Sony! The only down side to this clock radio is that the radio only plays for 30 minutes.I guess I will have to set Alarm B as well! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Get to know it - learn to love it
I love this clock.I've bought two more. Most important thing to remember is that you need to read the manual, and keep the manual close by.In comparison to other alarm clocks, its complicated. But the time you spend getting to know it is well spent and the rewards are great. The clock is nice to look at and has a fantastic feature set.Dual alarms, gentle wake signals, atomic synchronization, digital and analog display; its just a great clock.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Features and Good Sound Quality
I'm the type of guy that is fanatical about my electronics. This clock radio offers nearly all the features I want in a clock radio with only a few draw backs. I love the flexibility of the alarm's. You can set it up to wake you only on certain days of the week. It also features what Sangean calls Humane Waking System which is basically a way of gradually increasing the volume of the alarm tone or radio. This allows for a gentle wake up as opposed to a sudden jolt when the alarm sounds.
2-0 out of 5 stars serious lack
I got this clock a week ago and I am observing it's performance closely. It is indeed an atomic clock; however, it's digital numbers don't light up. This for me is a very sad oversight of the engineers. I place the clock 7 feet away from the head of the bed on top of a 4-foot drawer stand and I cannot see the digital time of the clock. Even the analog clock is not clear; because of everyone's familiarity with the analog clock's hour numbers in circular design, one can see the position of the hour and minute hands and can "surmise" the current hour and minutes. It just blows my mind that the electronic designers of this clock have seemed to think of and worked on its many good features and weren't convinced that making illuminated digital numbers and figures is quite important. ... Designed for deep sleepers, the Timex T438T super-loud clock radio boosts the volume significantly to wake even the most ardent snoozer. 4-0 out of 5 stars Love the MP3 feature
I like to listen to radio stations while I cook.Once a while I wish I can listen to my MP3 songs without taking my laptop to the kitchen and get all greased up.I bought this unit yesterday and I do not have any complain so far.I hooked up my Sandisk M250 to the radio and the sound that came out was pretty decent. The AM function was little weak when I was testing it in a CircuitCity store but it turrned out to be fine in my ninth floor apartment. The FM reception is the strongest among the three radios I have. All other functions worked as advertised but the button placement needs improvement.
1-0 out of 5 stars thumbs down
The one I bought does not work. The alarm feature only accepts one setting, even though I followed the instructions precisely. The AM reception is awful, nothing but whistles. The display is nice.I will not buy Timex again, they need to stick to watches.

4-0 out of 5 stars Best for the price.
It has some down sides as you would read from the other comments but Timex is the only brand I have found that you can set up to alarm only in weekdays. The radio may be poor but I would rather prefer poor radio than waking up 7 am on saturday or not waking up at 7 am on monday. You don't have to worry about whether you turn the alarm off on fridays and turn it back on sundays. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars 3 yrs and going strong!!
I wanted one of these so bad and my husband got me one for xmas 3 yrs ago.....I LOVE IT!!! my hibby installed it no problems and I Literally have it on almost all day long, while I cook, clean, etc. My cd player works just fine and so does the radio (unless of course I have the microwave running, which is right next to it then it gets a little staticy but I think thats normal)...basically I love this and would recommend this esp for the great price!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars One nice radio/cd player.
I bought this player about a month ago after installing one for a friend. I liked the way it looked and sounded in her kitchen and decided thatI wanted one for me. Its a nice unit that is easy to use and has 15 pre-sets for the radio. The slot for the cd holds one cd.The sound is good, not great. I especially liked the instructions and template for installation. It made it very easy tolook like a professional install. Especially for a guy who is all thumbs.

1-0 out of 5 stars Dissatisfied
If I were buying this item strictly for the radio, I'd be very satisfied. However, I bought it with the idea of playing CDs in my kitchen while I cook.An excellent idea - if the CD player actually worked! We also tried all of the suggestions in the manual to no avail. It rarely works; I'm very disappointed. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Awful!
The sound is just terrible and when I turn the sound up/down, I frequently have change the station to get it tuned properly.
1-0 out of 5 stars Disappointed
Well the radio worked fine, and the clock seemed to work. The Cd player would not work at all. Yea I set the alarm to wake up to a cd and the alarm turned the radio on but the cd never played. And no it wasn't a burned cd. It was an original.

2-0 out of 5 stars No headphone jack
I've been looking for an inexpensive cd clock radio with a headphone jack and thought I had found one.I was very disappointed when I opened the box and could not find the headphone jack anywhere. There was no headphone jack shown on the owner's manual included in the box. The box stated a headphone jack but there is no jack on this unit.I returned this to Amazon and ordered the Phillips AJ3950.If you're looking for a cd clock radio to use headphones with, I wouldn't purchase this Coby model.I liked the design but without a headphone jack I cannot use it. ... 2-0 out of 5 stars Good, at the beginning.
I bought this item three years ago to replace a similar unit that had failed -- oddly enough for the same reasons I'm finally replacing this one.The unit started off well enough, playing CDs as I fell asleep. However, after 6-8 months of regular, but hardly abusive use, the CD player no longer recognized discs.
4-0 out of 5 stars good product but missing one thing
i think this is a great product, but the only feature I would like it to have is to be able to select any track to wake up to.the way it is now, the alarm clock just plays the first track on the cd.
