The Best MP3 CD Player
I started out with a Rio Volt to play my MP3s on the go.What a piece of junk.Then I purchased a Nomad Jukebox.It holds 10gigs of MP3s, but the battery life is short, and I wanted something relatively cheap I could afford to leave in my car.Enter the Samsung MP3 CD player which I found on sale and with a substantial rebate that rivals the price of other portable CD players.It plays my CD-Rs and CD-RWs almost flawlessly.(I blame the few glitches I've encountered on scratches and cheap media.)I listen to audio books and text-to-speech MP3s (as well as music) in my car during my commute, and the last track memory (a.k.a., resume) feature is an absolute must.This player also starts up a lot faster than any other portable MP3 player I've seen.Battery life is good...maybe 8 or more hours using rechargeable batteries.I've owned enough portable music players to know to just throw away whatever headphones/ear buds that are included, and use my own.I'm going to buy another one of these players for use around my house as soon as I see it on sale again and throw out my Nomad.

Excellent Value
I bought this player to use during my daily 4 miles of walking around my neighborhood, so the anti-skip feature was important. The player does a very good job with the anti-skip protection. As long as I carry the player above my waist so that my leg movement doesn't jostle it a lot, the player works quite well, with only an occasional minor glitch. If not moving, the player works perfectly. Wonderful!!!

Just remember, this is not an MP3 player
I've been using MDs for almost 8 years now, and I can honestly say that, though they might not be for everyone, they're still better then either CDs or cassettes, portability-wise.

The greatest player I have ever purchased.I own two models. The MZ-n505 & the MZ-nf610 (type s) The MZ-n505 I use at work while I am on the job.I have had it for 2 years and it is still going. I have dropped it and god knows what else. I love having the option to put all of my music on a mini disk. Unlike the mp3 players where you have a limit or have to pay a fortune to expand it. And not counting these Ipods that are so small and delicate. The other model (MZ-nf610) that I have I use at home and comes with the fm tuner, I don't use it.I am not a big fan of FM radio anyways.Both models are great players.Also the option of having one rechargable double AA battery is the best. You can recharge the double AA while it is still in the player! I can listen to my NetMd 8hrs without having to recharge. Another way to save you money.Now on the sound quality if your record your music on the standard option it will sound great, but if you try to save space on downgrade your quality you can fit about 60 or more songs (give or take) on one mini disk.Overall this is my favorite portable audio player, and would buy from Sony again and definately a NetMD player!

I have had this MD player for about 3 years now, and love it. At first, I thought it wouldn't be as good as an MP3 player but how wrong I was. I purchased an MP player for my 13 year old a year ago and it died in less than a year. First the casing wore out and evenutally the player was unusable. Meanwhile, this MD player kept on going. Both of my kids have used it and I have dropped it at least 50 times, usually it just keeps playing. I have had no issues with it. And, I haven't experienced the battery issues or software issues that people complain of. But I like to mix my MDs and then rarely change the music on each one, so there's not a lot of uploading once I get it onto my mini discs, it's basically there for good. ... Read more

Takes a licking keeps on ticking and doesn't skip!
I love this player. As others have mentioned why pay more for an MP3 player when you can have a CD AND Mp3 player? I have abused this unit biking, skiing, in the car and on hikes. It's been under water and skidded down more trails than I care to remember yet never missed a beat. The wired remote has been a big plus as I then store the main unit in a pac and have the remote on my front pocket. I have finally killed the play button on my noble beast and I will be replacing it with the same model. Killer unit! Do yourself a favor and discard those piece of junk headphones that come with the unit.

Best CD/mp3 player I've used yet.
Great CD player, for most people it should be fine. Of course the stock headphones that come with it are junk, but who uses those anyways? Buy a pair of Sony MDR-V6s or the like and then you can hear you tunes perform.
Why buy an MP3 player when you can get a MP3 CD player instead?
MP3 players cost hundreds of dollars.

CD Player Problems
I have had this system for 2 years - CD changer broke just before 1 year warranty expired, sent to Onkyo and was repaired.Recently started experiencing same problems as before - won't eject CD's - have had to shake the player while holding it vertically to recover my discs.This is too bad as Onkyo generally has a good name in audio.

Bad CD
Big problems with the CD player, just makes noises all the time, doesn't work at all, won't open. Nice small system, CD kills it.

Excellent performance in a small package
I bought this system refurbished because of the bad reviews on the CD changer, hoping the problem would be fixed. So far no problems, CD changer and everything else works perfectly. Initially, my first choice was the Marantz Duetto but I was unable to find one. Next was the Denon D-M33s but the sound quality was lacking and it was too expensive for a mini system anyways. I settled on the Onkyo MC35Tech which I am very happy with now. Smooth and warm is how I would describe the sound. The speakers are much better than I expected, very punchy bass. I wanted to mention I am using thicker, lower gauge speaker wire and a Monster HTS850 Powercenter that supposedly cleans up AV signals (left over from my last audio system). To me there is a noticeable improvement in the sound versus using the stock cables and a cheap $10 surge protector. The only area where the Onkyo system lacks is low end bass but the receiver does have a sub out in case you desire more oompf. One of the best looking mini systems too. I really like the separate 3 disc changer and receiver, sort of a mini separates system. One of the cheaper audio systems Ive ever purchased but is the most enjoyable to listen to and use. We returned the first one for credit and got a confirmation e-mail that you had received it. Overall, the purchase was a very positive experience.It was the first time I purchased anything from your company and it was handled very well and in a timely manner.

we just love our 200 cd changer. we now have all of our cd's at our fingertips and can use them all instead of them sitting on a shelf somewhere. we have it in our bedroom and we can sleep while it changes we usually have it on random play that way you hear all of the cd's mixed up. it's not as loud as other reviewers has said sure, it has some noise but not that much that you can't sleep through it. wish we had bought it sooner.

I have one of these no disc problems
I have had many cd players that gave me no disc problems and the problem is that your lens is dirty.To fix the problem get a cotton swab dip it in alcohol that you buy at the drugstore and clean the lens is a spinning motion with the cotton swab.

Disappointed in this Sony product.
I had to get a new CD player for my stereo system and purchased this one because it was a Sony.Despite the fact that I was concerned (and didn't really need) the 5 CD carousel, multi-CD changers seemed to be my only option.Three months into owning this thing the carousel doesn't work property - it picks and chooses what CD's to play (one try a CD will play, the next try the same CD won't play).It's completely frustrating.It even skips while playing brand new CD's.Of course it can't go back to the store and spending money shipping it back to Sony ends up being as much as buying a new player.Save your money on this product.

I bought this headset to help motivate me while I run because it is HUGELY cheaper than most sports cassette/am/fm sets.It is a great accompaniment to my workout.The sound quality is very good (for both cassette and am/fm) and most stations come in very clearly.The one-touch system allowing you to switch stations from pre-set to the next pre-set is handy so you can keep the running rhythm and still make changes as needed. The lock prevents random switching of stations or hitting buttons unintentionally.The downside is that the clip on the provided case works fine if you are just walking around but really is inefficient for a higher activity level and it doesn't fit nicely into your hand for an easy carry so I'm still figuring out the best way to carry it comfortably.I did spend an extra few bucks and bought the earbud headphones, finding them much more comfortable and stable than the ones that come with it.You can pay double for a fancier "sports" model or buy this and get great sound quality.

PLEASE DO NOT PUT YOUR HOME MOVIES IN WITHOUT A BACK-UP COPY STORED!!!

Beware of the DVD scratch
Out of the 400 DVDs, it scratched about 100 of them.
Good and Bad Qualities
We just got ours yesterday at Circuit City.We paid $399 plus tax (35.00) and and an extended warranty (85.00) for three years.So far I like it more than I thought I would after reading the reviews.
