Incredible value
I bought this boombox for a construction project where I didn't want to risk damage to a "good" stereo system.But this little Sony box sounded so great, when the construction was over I replaced my "good" system with this one and have had it for over a year with zero problems.I just can't believe what great sound comes from these simple speaker elements.It's amazing.Long live Sony engineers!

Very disappointed
I was looking for a small, no-frills radio/CD player and settled on the Sony CFD-S350 for its size, cost, and my opinion that it was one of the least ugly players at the stores I shopped.I've had it for six months and have been quite disappointed.The first thing I noticed was that the FM sensitivity was poor.My 21 year old Sanyo dual cassette player has a much better radio.Programming the presets was easy.

Only had it for 6 months and already it won't play my cd's, so now it's basically a very overpriced fm radio, with relatively poor reception on many stations.Very annoying.I expect more from Sony.This is the only Sony boombox I have tried.I have a Philips at home, which I've had about 8 years and still works like a charm. ... Defective Remote
I purchased the RCA RCD152 for my 94 year old Father for Christmas and the remote was dead out of the box. After returning the unit the remote worked for three months and died. So now what do I do for a remote? I would not recommend this unit unless you don't care if the remote fails.
Returned twice
Ordered two of these at different times and on both of them the remote died within a week. Really wasn't that impressed with the sound quality either and had to use the antenna to get good reception. Decided to try a different brand and went with the Panasonic RX-D27. The sound is incredible and the remote so far works great. Also, I do not even have too raise the antenna at all. This boombox is only about $15.00 more than the RCA and well worth the price.

Disappointing radio performance
I really expected to like this boombox, but I was disappointed almost immediately, because the radio tuning isn't selective.
"Heavy Duty"doesn't do this thing justice.
The darn thing IS built like a tank and sounds great. It's perfect for a construction worksite.

Coby delivers more bang for the buck
This Coby product is the third of their product line I have purchased, and each time I have been impressed with what you get for the price.I needed a tape and CD player that was portable, and although it's no BOSE, it has plenty of good features and delivers what's promised.Excellent tape handling mechanism, and the CD on top has a secure button latch that actually works, unlike many I've seen.This is not for the serious audiophile, but for the rest of us -- buy it!

The cord is in the battery compartment.
The other reviews indicate that the cord is not with the boombox. I called the company and they tell me it is in the battery compartment.

Does not last...
CD player stopped working after two months of ownership, it was playing a cd and puff, that was her last one.Also, very troubling for me: I left the powercord at my sister's house and could not find a replacement at any of the usual shops; it takes a special fitted powercord. Love the boombox
We love this boombox.The sound is great and it has all the features we were looking for.

Decent boombox
I liked this after seeing so many tacky looking stereos when shopping.This looked somewhat simple.I have had it for over 2 years and use it almost nightly (the radio or CD player) to put my son to sleep.My only complaint is tht the radio has to be tuned on the CD seek/scan buttons.You can't hold them down to go quickly, so changing stations can be time consuming and annoying.They should be on the dials (one controls volume, the other to your radio presets).Overall, I'd recommend this stereo for something inexpensive, reliable and reasonable looking.

CD player went bad immediately...No Disk error
I loved this unit... the size, the sound, the footprint.And the name SONY. But just after a few times, the CD player went bad.Now, when I put in a disk, I simply get a "No Disk" error.It has become a Radio-Tape boombox, no CD.Very disappointed.Then I went on the web and found others have been having this kind of problem with other SONY units and bemoaning the loss of the once revered SONY quality.

OK unit, but picky with mp3 discs
I have usually ben happy with the Coby products I've owned in the past, but this one is a disappointment. I wanted to get an inexpensive boom box for my girlfriend to put in the kitchen that would not only play standard CDs but also mp3 CDs and had a radio and cassette recorder as well. The radio and cassette sections seem to do about as well as you'd expect for a boom box selling for $39.95. And yes, it seems to play standard CDs well, although it seems to not play the last track of some of them well. However, mp3 CD playback is very iffy. I have made over a hundred mp3 CDs, and some it will play and others, for whatever reason, it will start reading, then sit there and act like it's having trouble reading, then quit. It also seems it won't read certain brands of CDs I've burned. I don't understand why this thing is so picky. Despite this, I'm keeping the unit since I bought an extended warranty with it and it mostly does fine with its other functions. But I can only play some of my MP3 CDs on it. If you want something that seems much less picky, although not absolutely perfect, and you want something cheap and simple, try the Jwin JXCD472. I got one of those and that one seems to work much much better.
worth the money
This unit does everything it is suposed to do.Also plays wma and mp3.It plays cd-r that my other boombox Sony cfd-250cp does not.I gave it 4 stars because of analog radio and 2 wats /cannel and no remote.I owned for over a year and still plays all my cd-rs with no exception mp3 and wma.

Un-disclosed Problem
The folks who made this system failed to advertise that there is a limit to how many songs the MP3 will play.I had a disc with over 200 songs on it, and the system will only repeat the first 100 songs at best.I wish I would have known this before I purchased it. Delphi SKYFI CD Audio Boombox
There's not much to say about this item except it's the BOMB!
Poor Quality Unit - ZERO Tech Support
I bought this unit and noticed the low volume "motorboat" noise almost immediately. E-mailed tech suppport and was told to phone the tech support department to arrange for a replacement. Called the tech support department and was told to return it to the store where I bought it.
Starting to go after two years..............
I never had a problem with this radio until today. It has been exactly two years since I bought the delphi boom box. My display unit on the CD part of the boom box has gone kaput. The radio still works, but I cannot see what radio station I have on and I cannot see the song number on the CDs. I called delphi tech support and was told that since I am passed my one-year warranty, I am out of luck. They can do nothing for me. They told me it would be cheaper to buy a new one because to fix it would probably cost me about $80 an hour. I can probably live without the display unit, but I hope this doesn't mean that more things with this radio will start to go wrong. Be prepared to possibly have to upgrade after two years with this one. ... Read more

Fantastic, but discountinued @ Sirius
I have three of these boomboxes. First I bought one when Howard Stern went to Sirius. Then to hear him at work I was lugging the boombox back and forth from the office and home every Friday/Monday. So I bought a second one that I leave at the office and just keep the plug in with me. Finally, my husband was tired of moving the home boombox from room to room (kitchen when cooking, bedroom at night) that he asked if we could purchase a third one for him only. So I bought a third one just days prior to Howard going live on the internet. Let me tell you, the third one was the hardest to find because these little plug-ins are discontinued at Sirius. Target had this boombox on sale for $39, so I jumped on it. I see they are here on Amazon still - so that is great. We have purchased two others for friends as gifts and they were elated. Sirius is fantastic, besides being a Stern fan, their programming rocks - and NASCAR is coming in 2007! Now they just have to get MLB away from Clear Channel's XM and XM will go down in flames! Highly recommended from a person who never listens to old radio anymore. 24/7, it's Sirius.

Good.......but.......
I purchased this boom box to accomadate my plug n' play unit.The sound is decent, depending on which "station" you are listening to.Sirius offers more bandwidth to stations which have more people listening and vice verca.However, $100 I would have expected a unit with superbass.The unit works great outdoor and I am very satisfied, however for indoor use I had to purchase the TERK SIR6 outdoor antenna - it was easy to install but it was another $45 to make a $100 unit work.

An okay cd player for the price
This isn't the greatest, but for the price it is an acceptable cd player. Actually, I think the sound quality is surprisingly good...but as far as I can tell the "bass boost" button is for decorative purposes only.
Not so great
I was happy with this boombox for about a month, because thats about how long it took before it inexplicably stopped working, refusing to play any disc that I put in it.

This boombox is really good! It can get pretty lound, the radio is great and there is no problem with the CD reader-it can handle CDRs and CDRWs. Also, there is an included external power adapter if you dont want to use batteries. It is pretty light and great for the beach. The white colouring is a bit too shiny (could be matt finished like the blue colour) but its ok as the boombox is a great value.

Cute, but TOXIC cord that reads to WASH HANDS after handling
THis is a very cute CD player, but after I read the "toxic" waring on the electrical cord to wash your hands after handling and that it can cause reproductive harm--we returned ours.I don't understand why they would make such a product for children to use???

Adorable!!
I bought this for my daughter's room so she could listen to classical music while she sleeps. I was going to buy a regular CD player and then I seen this one. It matches her room beautifully and works great. She's too little to carry it around or use it herself (she's 1 1/2), but she loves her "pretty radio" as she calls it. We haven't had any problems with ours and as for the "toxic" cord, I plugged it in once and I don't plan on moving it so its not a problem for me.

Affixed to the electrical cord is a label that says that the cord is coated with a material that is toxic and also causes reproductive harm.Too bad the cord wasn't made with an adapter - it is built into the machine.Guess you could just put batteries in it and not use the electrical cord at all but still you would have to wash your hands everytime you touched it.Why do people make toxic toys?

Doesn't Even deserve One Star

THIS IS A MUST HAVE!!
I didn't think much of this toy when my son received it as a gift many months ago.He reached 11 months and it has become his favorite toy.He also learned how to press the button to make the music play and it works wonders as a distraction when he fusses at dinner time.I highly recommend this item.I think my aunt bought it at Kohls and paid much less.

Great Product!
I highly recommend anyone try this radio/cd/cassette player.I used it for a family reunion where there was no electricity.The player runs on electricity or batteries and the sound, using batteries, is fantastic.You can also hook up a microphone.It was definitely a good purchase.

I bought this and thought it would work on it's own. When i played a cd the subwoofers didn't even. When i read the manual i was i needed a 15v dc adapter which i cannot find ANYWHERE! So if you get this be prepared to go on a wild goose chase for a 15v adapter. Or else stock up on batteries cause it uses TEN! damn who ever heard of a woofer being plugged in by itself. If i have nay luck with stereo I'll write another review until then i am frustrated with this company.

Doesn't Even deserve One Star
Got it in December; CD player stopped working in April and now the radio reception is so bad I'm tossing it.Can't provide paperwork for refund as it was a gift.

it hums!
Alas, it makes a very noticeable hum even when it's OFF! I have to unplug it if I want the noise to stop. Very disappointing.
