Works as promised
It charges in 1 hour. Durable construction.In fact, it is built better than the charger that originally came with the drill.So I bought two and mounted them to a piece of plywood that hands on the side of the work bench.that way, I can take it with me when I need to do work outside of my home.

Is she back there ?
This Xantrex model works like a charm with a portable DVD player.We took an 11 hour car trip and in both directions I had to check and see if my daughter was awake or not.The DVD player and other devices just hummed along and made the trip a pleasure.
Works just like it should.
I ran a PS2, a 13" color TV and a laptop all at the same time without any trouble.The unit stayed nice and cool.

The Best Charger I've Found
I've been using rechargeable batteries for a while and the more batteries you buy the more important a good charger becomes. The Rayovac PS3 is the best I've used for two reasons. First, it holds up to eight batteries at a time. That's pretty uncommon and when you discover that your digital camera, Xbox360 controllers, kid's toys, TV/VCR/DVD/Tivo remotes all use double or triple A batteries, you don't want to be stuck charging four at a time. Second and equally as important, it has trickle charge. Most don't.Sure, you can get a quick charger but these new Nimhs last weeks or months between charges and by the time you need the batteries in the quick charger, they've drained down.

2500 mAh
I bought the 8 pack of these batteries and they've worked without any problems.I don't have other 2500 mAh batteries to compare but these seem to last much longer than my other set of name brand NiMH batteries (which are only 2000 mAh).

Power in a pinch
After researching a number of emergency preparedness devices including rechargeable/regenerating flashlights, radios and power sources we purchased this one and we're very happy with the decision.It appears to be well made and durable.
Less useful, but easier to maintain than a generator.
After spending my vacation in Florida during hurricane Wilma, I learned the value of being prepared for a prolonged power outage. This unit would have been just the thing.

If....
you only use a cordless drill from time to time, there's not much need for this battery. But, if you use the cordless circular saw, or perhaps the hammer drill, the extra oomph from the XRP is well worth the extra bucks.

Actually, these batteries work harder and longer than the batteries that came with the unit. Don't know why. Both sets of batteries are brand new, but the batteries from Amazon's distribution hold a charge longer. Very Pleased, in fact I may buy a few more from Amazon for those extra heavy duty use jobs.

Save yourself. It is too late for me. I am addicted to these batteries. I have several tools and some garden equipment that all use the same interchangeable batteries. Superb Batteries holds up well with baby toys!
I received 16 batteries. These work great! NI-MH are the next generation battery and they go the extra distance. Extremely good in electronics like cameras, and baby toys. They still work excellent in flash lights and motorized toys. I read alot of reviews that say these work optimally in electronics only. That is so not true. Duracell makes an excellent product here. Amazon delivers is quickly.

Eh, so/so
I've worked with better walkies in the entertainment industry - these rate so/so.The real problem was with the headset which had to be purchased seperately.For some reason, the walkie kept goinginto VOX mode without warning.Had to shut them down, turn them back on again, and hit the talk button to take it out of VOX mode.The instructions give no real instruction on turning OFF the VOX mode when used with a headset.Reception is good, range is ok for small venues.

Great for ski trip
I bought these for ski trips and they do a great job. You can reach your family member anywhere in the mountain under any type of weather. I found the battery life great too. No problem to report after using them for 2 winters.

Great batteries with a value price!
These batteries offer a good amount of time for using portable CD players or anything else that requires the use of AA batteries. The price is right since many "convenience" stores charge up to 50 cents for just one of these batteries. They rarely corrode as they are sold with a very long expiration date (several years). I recommend them for any device that requires the use of AA batteries. Keep spares on hand!

My 2 Cents
After a storm ripped through Illinois I was out of power for 2.5 days, I decided to buy my own generator.I had borrowed a friends 15+ year old 2000 watt B&S which was way louder than this 5550.The 5550 is a lot louder than the Honda models but also half the price.Who really cares how loud it is when you are desperate?Quick 15 minute assembly.Great wheels.Starts with one easy half pull (Anyone can start).I haven't really used it other than testing the outlets.Gas tank is a bit awkward to fill but other than that it seems well built.Looking at buying the GenTran transfer switch kit to setup the right way $350.

Very satisfied with the quality of the generator. Briggs and Stratton lives up to its long and excellent reputation. I hope I never have to use the generator because of a prolinged power outage but it is comforting to know it is ready. My only negative comment is that it is loud as the hinges of Hell. But I read about that in one of these reviews so it was not unexpected. The neighbors will probably forgive the noise if I let them plug in.
BUY IT!!! Stop looking and get one of these.........
What do you want to do? If you are thinking of power your whole house; move on. If you want to run the important stuff when the power is out get on this one now. I ordered this on a Tuesday night and the following Monday it was here. Opened the box, put the wheels on it, put the oil in it, added some gas and with one pull it was up and running. Twenty five minutes tops and I had power. I went to Lowes and bought a 220 Yellow Jacket 25 foot extension cord for a 100 bucks and hooked it up to my transfer switch and I have my refrigerator, deep freeze, TiVo, TV, computer, DSL, and several lights all on with no issues. If I shut down a few things I could run the AC.
