1-0 out of 5 stars Poor customer support
I purchased the product and and have repeatedly tried to contact the tech support line listed in the liturature by phone and e-mail with no response. I am very disapointed and the productr is unusable. What a ripoff.

1-0 out of 5 stars A Complete Waste
Like the other bad reviews I got my planner and it broke in as little as 2 hours. I took forever to get it to synch and then it just stopped working. I think I'll just get the Palm and try the software on that. What a complete waste of time!

1-0 out of 5 stars Can you say "Quality control issues"?
Like the reviewer from Baltimore, I was psyched to enjoy this device. Not three hours after unwrapping it, though, and it's already dead. Got all of my meals from the past week logged in (I had been keeping track on paper in anticipation of receiving the gizmo), entered in all of my personal info, hit the journal key, and...nothing. Well, not nothing. More like 10 lines of gibberish on the screen. Did a soft reset. No change. Took the batteries out, put them in. Blank screen. Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars the best that I have ever owned
I have owned several electronic organizers/schedulers over the past several years. This one is the best of the best! I am addicted to it.It goes everywhere with me. The screen size is great, the memory seems to be limitless, and the e-mail, phone, expense, to-do features cover just about everything that the schedule feature does not.The screen utilization and keyboard ergonomics are amazingly efficient for a handheld. I go through devices like this rapidly since I use them everywhere, all the time, in all kinds of situations. This one has been the most rugged survivor of them all.I am shopping for a new one now for 3 reasons: (1) I inadvertantly ripped a piece off of my previous one; (2) I tried the newer models made by SHARP and they totally stink (these new models have miserably poor screen layout/utilization; a criminal amount of user key-clicking required for the simplest functions; worthless frills such as blackjack games; and other sickening aspects); and (3) the number one reason that I want another YO-190 is that it is by far the best item in its class without a doubt!!

3-0 out of 5 stars Unsatisfied
I bought this organizer about 1 year ago.At first I really loved the simplicity of the organizer and how compact it is.Now my LCD screen is malfunctioning and I have to buy a new one.

5-0 out of 5 stars Superb product
A very very good organizer, the calender, memo, anniversery reminder , telephone books, website book, calculator\conversion,and expense tracker are all perfect. I bring it everywhere and I store everything in it and I havn't even used half of the memory! The manuel is very VERY compreheinseve I didn't get lost once . A few days ago my sister crushed it but she had to buy a new one thank goodness I backed up everything on to my computer. It isn't very durable but most people who will buy this should put it in a high place while Syncing w/ your computer ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars ViewSonic pocket PC
I've had two ViewSonic pocket PCs and have never had one problem with either of them.I'm not a techy person -- just use them for contacts and calendar mainly -- but they've both worked perfectly since Day 1.The screen is bright and clear, they sync up easily and quickly, and all Microsoft functions have worked well.If you just plan to use the basics, I would highly recommend this PDA.In fact, I'm buying a third one today for another employee in my company and feel confident that it will work as well as the others have.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Unit

1-0 out of 5 stars Do NOT buy this product
I purchased the product because it offered Microsoft .Net compatibility. The product locks up regularly for no apparent reason. When it locks up the only option is to reset, clearing all data and software installs. If you purchase the product get very familiar with Backup and Restore procedures.I am currently restoring the system once per week. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Too expensive & didn't work fine
I experienced lots of trouble with this item, windows didn't work right, and when I found out how to manage my sychronization it was too late, I had lost all my data. I spent over 1,000 USD in the pocket PC and accesories and after 6 months finally trew it in the trash can, since the connection port had broken without doing nothing. It was my first Pocket PC after trying all Palm models and devices, and finally went back to Palm with Zire 71, which I recommend a lot better. Palm OS is more stable, never breaks dowm, and allways reliable.

4-0 out of 5 stars Nice PDA
This is a great PDA. It runs Windows 2002 Pocket PC Edition very well. I can play MP3's, use Pocket Word, and synchronize with Microsoft Outlook without a problem.5-0 out of 5 stars Incredible
This is a wonderful machine. It is compact and efficient. It is compatible with several database software products allowing for easy, on the road access to all types of information. It holds 1000 pages of text per MB of memory which makes travelling a breeze. No longer do I need an extra briefcase for my books.Currently, with just a 128 MB compact flash card as an accessory, I have 7 books, 13 audible.com audible books, multiple pictures as well as all my MS Outlook contact addresses, phone numbers, email addresses.Further, I can download and respond to my email from this little pocket-size phenom. It has never, never failed me. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars HP Support not there for me.
I bought my HP 548 in good faith. Paid good money. When it came time to buy a battery, I got shuffled around the planet talking to the folks (support) in India whom were polite but didn't provide any answers. The result was, I wasto theforced to buy (on my own) a questionable battery from another source whichdoesn't work (it seems to be counterfeit). I'm glad Carly is gone from HP.

5-0 out of 5 stars Outstanding features and nearly software complete
The SL-6000L is the best handheld of all the units I have owned including a Zaurus 5500.The built in wireless syncs with every hotspot I've tried and the Spread sheet, Word processor and Presentations works with all the MS Windows files natively without converting back and forth.

4-0 out of 5 stars Writing this on my 6000L
I'm writing this on my new Zaurus. Firstly to the reviewer who complained about the handwriting recognition, it's the best I've seen. You can train every letter to the way you write. The other side to this pda is that, if you need software that doesn't come with this pda, you better be willing to tinker with downloaded packages. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars I bought ten 5450s and I think they're like beta versions
Hi. I already bought ten of these devices, in order to develop a unique project supported by Microsoft using latest .NET compact framework techs, etc. The first surprise.. our 5450s are like a beta test.. and we are beta testers. WLAN works fine, but they cannot authenticate in an Linksys AP, 802.11G is not supported on early models, this problem was recognized by HP and they released an OS update. In addition, battery indicator shows depletion erroneously, there are several problems with low cost SD memory expansion cards, my device worked with Simple Tech, Wiking or Kingston, other brands didn't worked at all. One of our devices dropped from a loose jacket pocket, a 2-feet fall. Results: the screen exploded and broken in several parts, seems that the screen was made with real glass, not plexiglass nor other transparent thing like early Compaq IPAQs. WE sent it to HP labs, and they said the motherboard was broken as well, so the device is almost unusable. We spent over 8,800.00 USD in these machines, and we think we deserve more robustness, provided at that time the device was sheltered with the supplied screen cover and protection sleeve.5-0 out of 5 stars A Great Machine!
I agonized at the tough choices I had to make: A) Stick to the Palm pilot series which I had been using for the last 3 years; B) Buy the HP 3950, the top model in the 3000 series; or B) Buy the new HP 5450.4-0 out of 5 stars Great features but....
I bought the device as my first Pocket PC. I couldn't get over all the integrated features, integrated 802.11b AND Bluetooth, consumer IR, etc etc. After I got the device and spent a few days playing with it, I started noticing a few quirks with the integrated 802.11b. First of all, every once in a while, when attempting to start the wireless network utility to turn on the wireless radio, I will get an error stating there is not enough driver memory. This is easily resolved with a soft reset of the device, but isn't something I should have to do in the first place. Ah well, that wasn't too big of a deal to me. Second, it uses the Atmel controller, and if you are looking for wireless network stumbling utilities like Ministumbler or Pocketwarrior, they will not work with it until they are ported for this controller. And last, being the biggest gripe about it, there is no integrated 802.1x authentication support, and I haven't found any 3rd party solutions. This basically means that if you plan to use this device in your place of business and 802.1x authentication is required to access your corporate WLAN, you'll have to get an expansion sleeve and a supported card and drivers. HUGE oversight on HP's part seeing as this device seems to be geared toward the corporate market. If your WLAN at work doesn't require 802.1x, you'll be fine. I hope that this will be resolved in a future software update, but for now you might be better getting the cheaper 3900 series, a compact flash adapter sleeve, and appropriate compact flash 802.11b card, especially if you plan on using this device for wardriving or connecting to an 802.1x secured network...Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Lasted Four Years - I weep for Palm
I am filled with feelings of anger and despair as I see the once great Palm Corporation in its death throes.I bought my first Handspring Visor Deluxe in early 2001 for $250 -- had it stolen 11 months later -- and bought another refurbished one from Handspring in Feb 2002 for just $100.The device gave me outstanding service until it died just a few days after its 4th (re)birthday.A refurbished device lasting 4 years!Since yesterday I have been looking for a replacement, inexpensive PalmOS handheld.Unfortunatlely, there is only PalmOne (or whatever they are called now) corporation left (having swallowed Handspring) and the PalmOS has been sold to a Japanese company. The reviews for Palm's current products -- nearly all from longtime loyal Palm-product users -- nearly uniformly slam the products.

1-0 out of 5 stars I'd make it a minus 1 if I could
I also won't rehash the previous reviews.Suffice it to say, nothing has been improved. My infra-red does not work and never has, my hot synch crashes my network, changing applications takes 10 seconds, the speaker for the recorder is in the back and sound is muffled by the case I carry the device in, I can't get the MP3 player to synch with my hard drive and India also says "nothing wrong."And today I discovered that all of a sudden the device is not synching to my case management system so I am double booking my time.I've had the device for 2 months and it has been a miserable and frustrating two months.I am headed out to buy a different device and say "expensive lesson learned."My problem is that I am now gun shy.

1-0 out of 5 stars PalmOne Life Drive Review 0 star customer service
I purchased the PalmOne Life Drive as a replacement for a PDA I left on a plane last May.I loved it at first. Now I can't even use it and the customer service from Palm is horrible. It is outsourced to India and they have no clue.I e-mailed there customer support via their website 3 times and they kept over simplifying the issue. I can't open a Word file without an "Save File, You must save the file you are working on before switching to Documents to Go".However I don't want to be in Documents to Go. When I save the file it takes me to "DataViz Documents to Go" and I have to do a manual search of every file I have ever opened.
1-0 out of 5 stars Buy at your own risk
I won't re-hash the issues that others have experienced. However, be forewarned that, if you do purchase this device, think twice about installing Software Update 2.0.There have been LOTS of problems with this update. It rendered my device completely unusable, and after returning the device to Palm for repair (which didn't correct the problem), and three subsequent calls to Customer Support, it still isn't working properly. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Not bad!
I bought this after Amazon.com put it on sale for $30.00, and considering how little I paid for it, I am quite satisfied.I find it most useful for things like library book due date reminders and keeping up with my finances (I have very uncomplicated finances). On the downside, The backlit display doesn't stay on more than a few seconds and the handwriting feature is too difficult for me to maaster, especially when tapping the messages in on the screen's "keyboard" is so easy.

1-0 out of 5 stars Worst product. Dont ever Buy it
It never worked for me with the battery.
4-0 out of 5 stars Best
This PDA is really good. Economy and best with 10MB memory and a backlight.
