1-0 out of 5 stars Data Loss after hot sync with Palm Desktop Software
In my humble opinion backup your Palm Desktop software prior to using this product and performing a hot sync.
4-0 out of 5 stars The Palm Z22
This is a really great Palm for beginners or those who don't want something so high tech it takes days to figure everything out. I would have given this 5 stars but the only thing I didn't like about this was when you want to type you use your stylist on the abc area and you have to tap it quite a few times to get it to come on. Frustrating, but in all a great gadget.

5-0 out of 5 stars Easily the best replacement for paper planners
I bought one for my wife and she just loves it. It has a small form factor, long lasting battery, and NO DATA LOSS ever. However, it does not come with bell and whistles like MP3 player, fancy screen, etc. But as a electronic planner, it does an excellent job and it looks cool. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great!
I am really happy with this PDA. I was waiting to get a PDA until it was able to actually connect/interact with the world (without costing too much), and this seems to be it! (especially combined with a bluetooth mobile phone)

1-0 out of 5 stars HUGE Disappointment!!!
I bought this device thinking it would be a great little travel companion when I'm on the road (which I am frequently).I don't always like lugging a laptop around, especially when my internet needs are basically limited to accessing email. So, on my very first trip with the Palm TX I'm sitting in my hotel room trying to get into my emial (which I had successfully done several nights before in my home) only to have an error window continually come up saying the pdf had "timed out".I have no idea of what this means, so I try going to the website of Palm. It's taking forever to figure out where to go to get answers to my questions.I'm incredibly frustrated! There used to be a day when electronics manufacturers sent owners manuals with their products. But, no more!I now have to spend a good deal of my valuable time trying to find out what's wrong with this blasted thing. It also shuts off frequently while I'm in the middle of doing something and I have to re-boot it.I really dislike this overpriced piece of electronic garbage!

5-0 out of 5 stars FABULOUS!!
This is, quite simply, the best gadget I have ever owned, and a miracle of technology. Who needs a laptop, an ipod, and a PSP when you can do it all with one device??

5-0 out of 5 stars Works great as a PDA, reasonable price, no problems!
The E2 replaced my Palm M105 after 4 years of trouble-free service. I have had this device for about a year and never had a problem. I have not even had to recalibrate it yet! It charges in the sync cradle and has never once had the batteries discharge. I tried using it for music, but it does not do this very well compared to an iPod or MP3 player (sound is fine though). The main drawback is the file conversion and loading process is not simple. It is also too big to be a useful MP3 player in my opinion. I didn't buy it (or my cell phone) to be a music player, so no big deal for me! :-)
1-0 out of 5 stars BAD PRODUCT/ BAD COMPANY
This is the third Palm PDA I have owned.I bought the E2 directly from Palm after my previous palm died. It simply quit shortly after the warranty expired. Telephone support is poor and expensive. After research this is a common problem.
1-0 out of 5 stars My 10-Year PDA Experiment is now Over !!
I've have owned a Palm since the introduction of the Palm 2 way back when. The only still-working Palm I replaced, was my very first, the Palm 2. The other five I have purchased since have all failed in some unrecoverable way forcing me to buy a replacment long before I was ready.

5-0 out of 5 stars The perfect PDA!
Lawdy lawdy - this is the best PDA I have ever had....I used to like Palm more than Windows-based PCs but this one is finally made the correct way....
3-0 out of 5 stars Never received it !!!
I am giving it 3 stars because I am unable to rate the phone yet. I ordered it about a week back and was supposed to get it in 2 days. Amazon website kept saying that there is a delay in your order. I called them up and they said that they have not received an approval from Cingular. They were nice enough to upgrade the shipping to next day delivery upon receipt of approval. But apparently they never heard from Cingular and automatically cancelled the order.
4-0 out of 5 stars Best yet but not perfect
I am upgrading from an audiovox smt5600 with the Windows mobile 3.0 operating system.I really like that it syncs with the outlook contacts and calendar. The windows mobile 5.0 OS is a real improvement. The keyboard works great and rotates the screen to landscape but I find that I rarely use it and input using the touchpad keyboard - so the extra weight and size are not necessary for me.The speaker phone is annoying to my callers so I stopped using it.I can cruise the internet using wireless but not too much fun on a 4" screen.Ditto working with word and excel files.Camera is disappointing.

2-0 out of 5 stars it's a lemon
I was ready to really love this pda. It's nice and thin, feels good in the hand and was the cheapest PDA with wireless. I mainly needed it to check my email when i'm out and about.
4-0 out of 5 stars Works as designed...mostly
It does everything they sayt it does. My only quibbles keeping this from 5 star status is Windows Media Player insists on loading media into the small internal memory rather than my 1 gb sd card. And the wireless occasionally does not connect to my access point, dropping th ewep key settings when it doesnt connect right away. One other flaw is the terrible IR range.
5-0 out of 5 stars Bravo!
This is an extraordinary, cute and very well priced pocket PC which I am sure you will also love once you take it in your hands. It offers various operations and is small enough to put it in your pocket. I am very, very satisfied with it and I want to congratulate HP for yet another great product! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Sharp Beats Franklin Products Hands Down!
The Sharp PW-E550 is way better than anything I ever got from Franklin in the past. Unfortunately, Franklin has pretty well had the market on handheld electronic devices for too long, and must have the worst customer service of any company in the world! I've never dealt with people so rude and unreasonable in my life, and I will NEVER buy any of their products again. I certainly hope Franklin continues to receive some much needed competition with better products and much better customer service.

3-0 out of 5 stars Disappointing.
I bought my Tungsten E about 2 months ago to replace my dead Zire 31. At first, it seemed pretty good, but it all went downhill from there.
3-0 out of 5 stars Not too bad
I have had a tungsten e for almost 2 years. (My previous Handspring died in an auto accident.)I haven't had any real problems. It mostly does what it is supposed to. My biggest issue is that the charger is not dual voltage and a meager 90 day warrenty. My daughter has a tungsten e. Her power switch broke. The cost of repair is such that it cheaper to by a new one. I was able to disasemble the device ( no help from the Palm website ) and solder a broken contact back in place. Quite a feat with an old Radio Shack soldering iron. So far it still works.
5-0 out of 5 stars Does What It's Supposed To Do
have used various models of Palms since the mid 90s. the Palm replaced my Franklin planner many years ago.

5-0 out of 5 stars OUT OF TROUBLE AGAIN
My wife is a crossword nut who doesn't do well with Saturday and Sunday's New York Times crossword puzzles.I think the Times puzzles gets crappier as the week progresses with clues having as little to do with the solution as fast food has anything to do with proper nutrition or as the 'Republican' noise machine has anything to do with integrity and honesty. She likes them nonetheless and it does give me more free time as the week develops while she clamors through her various aids (cheat devices) to uncover a word that is and remains clueless.Lazy or incompetent puzzle producers get by through teaching puzzlers code words that link other more meaningful words as answers that make folks feel smarter once they master the code. She loves the 206 and says it "Kicks butt" ...thanks ... Just thought I'd add this bit for people who suffer the battery drain problem. This happens when you have an SD card inserted and a working Activesynch connection. It has something to do with constantly monitoring the card's output.

4-0 out of 5 stars great medium-level palm
got the zire 72 ~2 years ago, replaced with t/x 12/05 (see my review on it). thought i should still write a review because i thought it was a great palm overall.
4-0 out of 5 stars Palm sized power
I had a Palm III followed by a Palm V and I was pretty pleased with both these older model PDAs. After some study, I opted for a Palm Zire 72 and I am very pleased with the features.
1-0 out of 5 stars Problems from the beginning
I bought this device because I loved that I could use it for both work and personal fun.I bought it in September 2004, and by January 2005, I'd returned it because the blue paint was peeling off.PALM was pretty awful to deal with.It was returned to me in April or May.When they did return the device, it would not sync properly.I called PALM and they gave me the run around, telling me it was my PCs problem, my company's problem, etc. They wouldn't take it back. Then the warranty expired and they wouldn't take it back, and quite frankly I was exhausted by the whole thing and stopped using it for a couple of months. Finally, in January 2006 I decided just to use it for its organizational tasks and forget the syncking. Now, June 7, that just broke and I am throwing it away. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Great Little PDA
I recently purchased the Sharp OZ-590A at a local office supply chain for $49.95 and it did exactley what I needed to do. I am a pool service and repair contractor and I needed an organizer to store all my customers contact info and addresses, along with some of my suppliers info as well. I set the date and clock on the unit, plugged it into the supplied USB cable and downloaded my Outlook contacts info. It worked flawlessly! It even downloaded the notes entered with each contact. All your Outlook info such as contacts, appointments etc. will download into it or you can upload from the unit to Outlook as well. It gives you home, office, fax and mobile phone numbers as well as email address too. It has a calender, appointment scheduler, anniversary & birthday reminders and evan a language phrase book and translater which you can choose not to download from the CD rom if you wish. You can even download your emails and read them on the go. If like me, you just need a basic organizer for contact info and schedule reminders, this unit can not be beat! Recommend highly.

4-0 out of 5 stars Amazing for the price !!!
I recently bought this PDA for 49.99 since my (paid $120 and less than one year old ) palm zire 31 screen started acting up. This is exactly what I was looking for since I only use a PDA for contacts and storing personal info.
1-0 out of 5 stars PLEASE SAVE YOUR MONEY
I have been a user of PALM for several years and now am retired, but find that using a handheld is part of my life.I don't need a handheld with a lot of bells and whistles, but this no doubt is one of the worst ones I have come across.I changed batteries at least three times upon receiving this personal organizer and it still didn't work....a hint of things to come.

2-0 out of 5 stars NOT compatible
I am not a tech 'saavy" person.I found it extremely dificult to begin using my unit.I wasted HOURS of my life on hold and on the phone with tech support trying to trouble shoot the problems. The first dude was okay helpful, but it didn't matter, because after a 62 minute phone call (including 30 minutes of hold time) still the unit was not functioning. The next 2 cust service people decided that it could be the cord, so each of them sent me out a new cord- which was not the problem. The next dude was much more knowledgeable and we found out that my processor, because it is not intel, was not compatable-that is after I also found out that the disc they send is DVD, not CD, so I was already using my daughters computer to attempt to load the disc.So in the end, I was able to copy the DVD onto the hard drive then copy to the card reader. But of course, I have still not loaded active sync and therefore I cannot back up or save any contact or calender info.I was told from Garmin that if the batteries die then all your contact and calender info is deleted.I can buy an additional backup system and back the info up to the SD card, but I will have to borrow a friend's compatible computer to do that!!!!
3-0 out of 5 stars Nice idea but buggy software
I bought this unit as a gift for my wife. We already have a Garmin GPS unit that we love and she had a need for PDA functionality so this seemed ideal.

It only has 1mb of memory if your thinking that 1mb on a handheld makes it worthless...its not! 1mb is overkill for it not only that but it has a built in keyboard, backlight, flip cover,2 games, the batterys last unlike normal battery powerd handhelds, you can drop it from 2 storys onto hard wood and it still works, built in english spell checker, english to spanish tanslater, alarm clock & its only 20 bucks. If your new to pdas or just looking for a cheap little back up this is the one.
