I purchased this product along with a new LCD monitor. I had a problem connecting the DVI interface (it was MY problem (fleshware)) and I called the helped desk, during the day and got a real person who gave me a real answer that solved the problem. BTW, the video card works great also.

Did you know? 256 isn't necessarily better...
When video card technology makes the jump from, say 32 to 64, or 128 to 256, the first few models are never as good as the latest lower speed.One would think so because of the PRICE, but you can see it in how the technology develops while an amount is popular.For example, the 256 that first came out is about 1/10th the quality of today's latest 256.However when that first 256 came out, the best 128s were much better.THIS card, though it is 256, is one of the earlier models and most later 128mb cards are much more efficient.Get a comparably priced 128 or look at 256s starting around $100.

Excelent Video Card !!!

If it doesn't work, here is something to try
I bought my PNY Verto 5500 AGP a month ago and after numerous system freezes (within 10 minutes of boot), I finally found this document.I went through all the steps listed in the reponse from UncleMacro testing after each step to see if the problem was resolved.The last one (number 5) actually fixed the problem by slowing down my AGP bus to 1x.I can run all my 3D applications now without the system freezing.Hope this works for any of you that may be experiencing the same problem.

ATI RADEON 9550 256 MB AGP

I bought one of these cards at Christmas and my wife bought the 9550XL they look just alike and both are a terrible card for the money we paid. She paid $100.00 at Newegg and I bought mine at zipzzoomfly for $89.99 we both paid to much for these cards. I just upgraded last month to a new Nvidia 6200A. I paid less for the card and it outperforms it in everyway. I would never buy another of these even if all I did was surf the web. They run hot a cause lockups and ATi when I talked with them said they were aware of the problem and recommended a fan. Why did'nt they put one on I asked, and they said it was due to cost. There technical support is the worst I have ever seen. As for gaming my daughter runs a 64MB 4X SIS 315 made by Elite group and it smokes this card. I know this because I used Aquamark to bench test it. Pay less and buy a Nvidia card with a factory fan and be happy. I am ordering another one of the Nvidia 6200A's for my wife.

The colors are great but kills budget system performance....
I purchased this AGP to run 3d software occasionally and not really for games. I updated the BIOS, DirectX, and video drivers before installing the card and loading it's support software. The manual was a general manual that wasn't specific to my card. It recommend exiting hardware wizard and running the ATI install. The amount of software that was installed was overwhelming and unnecessary. All you need is Catalyist and the drivers. Not file player, ALL-IN-ONE-WONDER, REMOTE-WONDER, Multimedia Library, unless you plan to watch TV on the PC. (I don't). The card has no fan but a large heat sink. I have a Sempron 3100+ with 1 GB ram, additional cooling fans and 300 Watts. With all that the system was shutting down from overheating. I lessen the resolution and refresh rate to no avail. The card showed rich cooler and the built in 3d configuration, pc check and screen savers worked with no problem. But just doing web surfing, playing quicktime, running 3D screensaver causes overheating. No games. The video payback was choppy. My onboard video that came with the motherboard outperformed the card but can't run 3D. As a test, the card couldn't run even the most basic 3D game demo even in it's lowest detail settings. I returned the card after that. The overheating and shutdowns went away. It maybe a great card for larger systems but for budget system it's a performance killer. It has overheating issues. Quality product that runs better then I could have imagined!!!
I had hoped for an exteneded life for my AGP rig but I honestly didnt expect such an improvement over my 6600GT, which in its own right was a very good overclocable card.
Awesome Video card
I bought this card to do gaming.This card runs all of my games at high settings.I went from low settings on my old card to high/very high settings depending on game.I am running this in a shuttle Xpc case and it fit with no problems and the internal heat has not increased any that I can detect.Drivers ran out of the box with no problems.First Ndivia card I have owned.Highly recommended

A Great Buy.
I was looking to purchase a replacement for the ATI Radeon 9700 that my Apple G4 came equipped with. I had tried going with a safe and cheaper route with the 9200, that I still believed would function properly, but this was an obviously inferior card that was highly noticeable on crashes and freezes with motion graphic programs and applications with timelines such as Flash, After Effects and even iMovie.

Works great... No issues...
I needed a card to process (decode in this case) an mpeg2 stream from my tv tuner, which does mpeg2 encoding. At 25 bucks, I had nothing to loose - bought it, installed it... And it just worked. I can do 480x480 -> 1024x768 (4:3 OTF conversion / scale) with only 25% cpu usage on an AMD 1400 Mobile @ 800Mhz. I've also tried 1920x1080p HD, but you need seriously more power for that kind of work.
THE WORST CARD YOU'LL EVER BUY
I am actually quite apalled with this product. After buying it a year ago because it was pretty cheap, No more than 4 DAYS AFTER THE PURCHASE, I purchased a Silent Hill game, and the graphics card was NOT compatible. I thought to myself, "fine..maybe it's just this one game", But the more games I would purchase, the more those games wouldn't work...
Wow! The best investment I've made!
Don't listen to anyone else! This card is the best! I am an average gamer and always used integrated video. After getting this, my games are so much better. This card runs well with even complex games like flight simulator 2004. It runs the game smoothly. Also, you can connect your PC to your TV using the S-Video output. It took me less than 10 minutes to set up and play. All you do is plug it in and install the drivers. The only thing they could improve on is to add two VGA slots for their advertised "nView" dual moniter function. Otherwise, its a great investment for any computer. appalling
the worst graphics card ive owned or come across in terms of reliability. ive had this in my P4 machine since new (a long 2 years) and it crashes all the time due to overheating and othertimes dues to running programmes (not games) it just cant handle (ie memory map 3d map viewer, cubase, ableton live, often just webpages).
An OK 3D Card, but its time is through...
Since 2001 I have had an ATI Radeon 9200 3D Card installed in my computer. For a while the card performed very nicely, although I had a massive problem with the Drivers when we first bought our machine. It handled almost every game well for the period of 2001 - 2003, but after that, things slowly began to sink.
Not bad.....once you get it working!
I installed this card yesterday to replace my old nVidia GeForce 3 Ti 200. The old card was giving me problems in games such as World of Warcraft where I could not see anything when I went into one of the large cities, so I decided to go with ATI for a change.I installed all the software that came with the cd after installing the card in the computer. I restarted the computer as it is required to after installing the software for a hardware.Right at the loading screen of Windows a nice blue error screen came up and restarted my computer.It did not do that again until each time I tried to load a game. A message would appear "Hardware changes have been made. Switch to default settings?" I would click on "Yes" and the beautiful blue screen came up again and restarted the game.It did this several times.I ended up uninstalling the drivers and software and let the automatic Windows hardware finder find the drivers online for me.That seemed to work fine and I did have to not install any of the software that came with the card.The installation cd is now gaining dust under my bed somewhere since I will not be using it ever again.In World of Warcraft the card works beautifully, except it will go slow in some sections to load up the enviremental textures.This might be due to my AGP slot with is a 4x and not an 8x.Overall it is a good card for the basic gamer, I gave it a 3 because of the hassle that it gave me to get it working properly. ... Great card for a $xx price
I just got this card today and I must say that it is a HUGE upgrade from my Nvidia geforce FX5200. I run Far Cry on high settings just a little lag here and there but I am very happy with what I received. The Cataclyst drivers were a little hard to find, but the card has nothing to do with that. Overall, this is a great card for the price! I would definetly recommend buying it if you're on a budget of $xx.

PNY's Warranty
Chez Mizell couldn't have had this card, the 6200 series wasn't available at the time he states making his purchase.His rant on PNY does have some validity though.PNY's "Lifetime" warranty is for the life of the card, that is, for as long as they produce it.When they stop producing the card the warranty is over.Not exactly the best way to stand behind a product...

Really good graphic card!
This graphic card was incompatible with my system.Based on what I could do with this card, my game playing experience would have been awesome! It is fairly easy to install and the instructions are pretty straight forward. Returning this video wasa very pleasant experience. Amazon was very helpful in giving me instructions about returns and exchanges. I was contacted almost immediately. Amazon is also very good about notifying their customers with confirmations. I highly recommend this series if your looking to buy a good graphics card. It is worth the buy! Amazon is a good place for this purchase.

I bought this 2 years ago for a home built PC.
Not PCI Port
I did not realize that I needed a PCI Port card and the web site did not indicate this requirement nor that this card was AGI. My son pointed it out to me after I ordered the card. When I contacted Tiger Direct, they did not know that it needed an AGI slot. They told me to call the Distributor - Diamond, who after a 35 minute wait on hold, said it was not his product (it was).When the card arrived and I confirmed that it was not PCI, I was able to return it and get a full refund. Bought this card few months ago. Scores 5876 In 3DMark 05 oc'd 5234 Stock. I bought a zalman cu cooler with it and replaced the stock one soon as it arrived. I was very bummed out when I found out thatmy extra pipelines were locked. can only overclock to 598core 550 mem... would buy the xt or xt pe if i could do it again. but this card is still in the top 5 best agp cards ever.. it was my last upgrade till ms vista.
