Okay for the price
My experience with this has been okay.I've had mine two or three years at least.The message audio quality is understandable but could be much better. I don't get a lot of calls and just needed something to take an occasional message when I'm out or screening calls.This has worked just fine - up to now.I just realized that it's started cutting callers off after 15 seconds, even though the recorded voice verifies that it's set for 2 minute record time (can computers lie?), so I'll be replacing it soon.All in all, it's been okay, but like the others say, I guess you get what you pay for.

Worst Answering Machine Ever!
I just bought this hunk-o-junk answering machine and it barely works at all. My outgoing message is warped and the machine hung up on everyone after 15 seconds. I could barely understand every other word of the few message clips I did get. I'll be returning it asap.

Needs An Amp!
I'm still shopping for a similar-looking set, but onethat terminates with a 2.5mm plug, compatible with cordless phones. When this unit, used, arrived it had a cord ending with the "quick-disconnect" line connector.Working with the seller, I acquired the other half of the cord. But It Terminated In a Square, Four-lead Connector, Probably Physically Compatible With Normal Household Phone Wall Jack!
Hands free to jam !!
My husband and I are in a Southern Rock Band and I sing backup and play the Tamborine. He recently purchased the Plantronics Encore Monaural Headset with Noise Cancelling Microphone for my birthday. Well....I love it. Before, if I was jamming with the tamborine and had to step up to the microphone and do some backup vocals, it was a little awkward. HOW DO YOU RESET THE LANGUAGE OPTION?
I bought several of these since they were inexpensive, although they EAT batteries.Unfortunately, I didn't keep the instructions for setting the language (which you must re-do after changing the batteries).Can anyone out there help me with this?Thanks!

Hard to Read
Quite simply, this caller ID display is too hard to read from any angle EVEN if it has brand new batteries in it, AND the contrast is turned up all the way.The display is just too dim.Save your money and don't buy this one.

Passable product, sham warranty
As with most budget-priced caller ID boxes these days, the display is seriously lacking in contrast, and harder to read than boxes made a decade ago.The contrast control, with about 20 settings, gives you the choice of a too-dark background (showing all 8's) or a too-light foreground.The unit comes with a non-detachable cord, denying you the option of locating the box far away from the jack using a longer cord.The 1-year warranty is nonsense because you must pre-pay a "shipping and handling" charge almost equal to the price of the unit.I wish manufacturers would spend an extra nickel to add two more wires to the feed-through, which would make it possible to use a 2-line phone (although with caller ID only on line 1).Another nice feature would be a way to delete all calls from a specific number simultaneously.Without these features, this Southwestern Bell unit performs its basic function adequately, though not superbly. ... Lenmar Rechargeable Batteries are not reliable, often faulty
I purchased two ten packs of Lenmar batteries.Of the twenty batteries, only 4 would take a charge.I used 3 different chargers, an Energizer, LaCrosse, and a RipVan100.The LaCrosse is a high-end charger with diagnostics (can display voltage levels, etc., individually for each battery, it can also 'repair' batteries maximum capacities, etc. - so can the RipVan100)...None could charge the 16 faulty batteries.I sent both 10 packs back.

Chinese made Junk - save your money!
I was tempted by the cheap price and got myself a 10 pack. They are rated at 2000 mAh, but run out of juice after the digital camera has shot maybe 5 frames. My 2 year old Panasonic 1600 mAh in contrast can run the same camera for over a 100 shots. I tried these batteries in my MP3 player - and even there, it won't supply enough juice after an hr worth of playback. It is not that the battery does not hold any charge - that it has. But it just does not supply the peak current required by most digital devices. It seems to be all right for use in a flashlight. A set of batteries that will not power a camera will power a flashlight (a bit dimly) for hours (yeah - I tested it). For the test, I hadcharged the panasonics and the lenmars for the same duration (it is not a charger issue).
Didn't last
I owned four different sets of NiMH AAs; this was the latest purchase and the first one to stop working.I do have decent chargers and never dropped them or anything.It actually ruined my day twice.Very disappointed. ... Read more

The only issue I have with the product, I cant plug it in the phone outlet, its actually bigger than the outlet for some reason. Maybe I missunderstood the 4line connectiong meaning is bigger???
