I used it to transfer my phonebook from my old SPH-A620 to my new SPH-A920. The technician at the sprint store was not able to do it, so I did a few searches and found datapilot.

Way to go AT&T!
I absolutely LOVE this unit!It is easy for ANYONE to use and is easily installed.It has a loud alert to let you know you have a call even if your in the other room and you can turn it up and down.I was concerned it may slow down my connection but it did not slow it down at all.
Works but has issues!
The unit has some nice features.When you are online the right side of the unit flashes bright light green and makes an alert tone to surely get your attention if you're out of the room.Works like any other callerid device. I.E. When you receive a call, you can redial by pressing a button.
AT&T 438 works great

Still looking for a decent answering machine
I find this machine to be usable when I'm home; but when I access it remotely with my cell phone, the voice quality issue is REAL TOUGH! Need to find a 'hearable' answering machine somewhere--the old tape units weren't great, but were definitely better than this!!

Not great, but not unredeemable.
If you're looking for a machine that's very affordable and that you're primarily going to use to check your messages at home, then you might consider this machine.It's true that the sound quality is not the greatest, but I've had no real problem understanding any messages.
It sitnks!
This machine cuts off when I call in to try to review my messages - this is EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING!If I do call in and manage to successfully retrieve some or all of them before it cuts me off, it resets the machine so the LED no longer blinks (neither fast nor slow) to indicate that there are messages on the machine. Therefore, if the message waiting is for my husband, I have to call my phone again to leave a message for him to retrieve his messages.There is no battery to backup the time/date feature either.If you lose power, you must reset.Altogether a completely unsatifactory machine. ...
