When I bought my new phone last year I didn't care about bells and whistles, I wanted a headset! As a new mom, I knew it would come in handy and it has!! This is my second of this model, the first had a small piece breakoff from repeated use...no problem, it was inexpensive enough to replace! I can hear very well and so can those on the other end. I can give my child a bath, change diapers, cook dinner, do laundry...it doesn't matter! My hands are free and really, isn't that what you want a headset for??? Love, love, LOVE my headset!!

Good phone, but headset needs frequent replacement
I've had this phone for about 2 years, and it's worked well. My only complaints:

The sound quality is hissy, and wavy. When we pull the headset off the receiver and plug it into a different phone, the sound quality is better. So the headphones/microphone assembly is top notch. The tiny little receiver unit isn't as good as others. However, for a person with limited use of the hands, the small receiver unit is easier to hold and dial.

In search of an acceptable answering machine.
About a year ago I decided that it was time to retire my old Lucent A560 (later changed to a model 1715) answering machine I had on one phone line and a Code-A-Phone tape-type answerer on a second line.Having had very good luck with my Lucent solid-state unit with respect to reliability and absolutely excellent message & record voice quality, I purchased two AT&T 1738 replacements which had nearly the same form factor as the A560.Boy, was I wrong!
Best answerer I've had
Works precisely as advertised.None of the complaints in previous reviews hold for my experience. Specifically, battery backup works and sound quality of messages is excellent. Only negative: too many words spoken by the machine and they sometimes seem to overlap.

At last, a decent answering machine
Having gone through two crappy digital answering machines (the last one's speaker grew so weak that I had to put my ear up to it when replaying my messages), I scoured the `net looking for just a basic, reliable machine that actually worked and didn't peter out in a year.This one was about the only one that got consistently good reviews.And the price ($31 delivered) on Amazon was, at the time, the best deal I could find (kudos on that free shipping deal, Amazon!).Anyway, I've had it a month and it works fine.I'd give it five stars but my "announcement voice" sounds a bit "digitally warped."I can live with that.But what with all the other technological progress made in other spheres (I've got Dolby 6.1 surround-sound in my upstairs movie theater, for example), I've have thought that this sector of the home electronics industry would at least be able to match the voice quality that I enjoyed for 13 years on my old tape-driven answering machine.Otherwise, this machine's been excellent thus far. Phonex Jack Caught On Fire
This Phonex PX-441 wireless jack system caught on fire.Thank goodness the fuse box detected the heat and cut the electricity.It functioned fine during the prior year and a half (I was using it for TIVO dial up).This summer, we had a heat wave in Chicago where everyone was being warned to minimize electrical use.I had a window-unit air conditioner and the jack on the same circuit, but plugged into different outlets.This jack was plugged into the primary outlet.The air conditioner was turned on and my electrician friends (who did the forensic work) believe the sudden power need for this circuit resulted in the jack overloading and catching fire.The jack was definately on fire and essentially melted into the outlet plate with smoke residue 5 inches above outlet.I am trying a different wireless phone jack brand (once bitten, twice shy).I am also going to plug this into a power strip as an extra precaution.

I can understand people being frustrated if this item was purchased for a modem.There is nothing on the box that states the baud restriction.However, for a fax or phone system it works great.Open the box.Plug the one with two RJ-11 jacks in by your phone plug and plug in the RJ-11 cord.Plug the other one where you want your jack and plug in the RJ-ii cordAt this point you will have dial tone.The almost new house we purchased was built by peple who were running out of money.Solid construction, no landscaping and no cable/voice jacks.I plan on buying another one of these. ... Hard to find a good headset
I've tried and returned at least 5 headsets ranging from $15 to $150. This one was typical of the others that I returned, low volume on the earpiece and low quality microphone. I finally ended up with a Panasonic TCA60 for about $19 which is very loud and sounds great on both ends. It's nothing fancy, no volume control and no mute, but who needs that when you can accomplish the same thing with your phone. Price does not determine sound quality. I recommend this product.

While this headset beats the kind that sticks in your ear, the listening volume is still to low. They only have a volume adjustment for the microphone not the earphone volume. What a shame!

affordable and good for office use
i have used the S12 for a while and i am very pleased with it. the sound quality is excellent and the earpiece is comfortable. there is a way to set it up so you don't have to remove the handset from the phone every time, but i could not control the volume that way. if you need a headset but don't need to walk around the office with it, this is the way to go!

Finally, a battery that lasts!
I have a Panasonic cordless phone, which I love. But I was ready to throw the thing out when the first battery failed after only one year of use. (And I don't speak on the cordless phone very much at all!) But I saw that Amazon sold a replacement battery from Panasonic, and bought that. But it too, failed in a year. This time I got smart -- I read what folks were saying about the Energizer ER-P511 over the Panasonic P511, and took a chance. What a difference! The battery is stronger, doesn't have a memory, and hopefully, will last longer than the Panasonics. Sure, they make good phones, but lousy batteries. So far, the Energizer is a great battery. But I'll report back in a year.

This battery makes the Panasonic phone work as advertised; I could use the speaker phone for the first time. The price is lowest but the shipping is a rip off. Doesn't last long
I have had several of these units in the past couple of years.When they work, they work great.However, they fail frequently, often after only a few months of use.I have never had one last much over a year.Many of the problems are the same as some other reviewers have mentioned - unit says low batteries, but a change of battery either doesn't help or only for a short while; hard to change batteries; etc.My current problem is the call waiting function has stopped working, although the caller id for the first call is ok.Unfortunately, I cannot find another model that features the call waiting function.

a worthless piece of junk
This is a worthless piece of junk. The three batteries are not held tightly enough in place; they constantly slip away from the coiled spring connectors, and then the unit stops functioning. I've tried everything imaginable to correct this problem but nothing works. It's amazing how a major corporation can spend millions of dollars hiring design "experts" who are so lacking in imagination andbasic engineering skills.

Good little unit for the price
We've had this for a couple of months, and so far it's done exactly what it needs to do.Only two things about it are less than perfect: 1) it's hard to see the caller information in low light, and 2) if there are new calls, a little red light continues to blink until you clear them all out.Overall, though, it's doing exactly what we bought it to do, and is a good value for the price. ... Awesomely small and comfortable; hoping for even greater sound quality
Wow. The Nokia BH-800 is great.It's small; about half the size of most other headsets.The fit is great.Nokia includes a eyeglasses-like coated wire to help hold the device in place.You don't need it.The device stays in place by itself.Before getting the device, I didn't understand why anyone would need or use the necklace to store the device when not in use.Now I use the necklace.It's convenient and not too geeky looking.Pairing the headset with my nokia phone was cake.The sound quality is desent, but not great.I'm hoping the next generation has even greater sound quality. Enjoy.

If this is the best, the others must be REALLY BAD!
My ears must be different than most others. This thing would not stay in my ear even when using the ear loop. The headset kept losing it's connection to my Treo 700WX and required a soft reboot of the Treo to get it to work again. Every time I talked on it the person on the other end experienced an echo. I was very disapointed as most of the reviews are very positive. To be fair, I can't use the ear bud type stereo headphones either, they just don't fit my ears. Also, other people have been having trouble with other bluetooth headsets with the new Treo 700WX. So, giving it the benifit of the doubt, I gave it a 2, but I was leaning towards a 1.

Comfortable and attractive, but poor sound quality
The unit is small and looks attractive compared to other units.HOWEVER, I found the sound quality to be unacceptable.This is my first Bluetooth, so maybe my expectations are unrealistic, but I can't hear without static on this thing unless I hold the phone (Samsung A920) up near my ear within a foot - which defeats the entire purpose.

Treo 650 Protective Skin -- Clear
I bought it as a present for a friend, and he says that it's the best item ever invented.It fits the phone perfectly (unlike some of the other cheaper ones, where the button impressions don't match up well-- so annoying).It doesn't make the phone bulky like some of the leather cases do.And, the material keeps the phone from sliding out of his pockets or his hands. The holster wasn't all that useful or sturdy, but otherwise two thumbs up!

First impressions
Just got the kit.So far, I'm quite happy.The case does add some bulk, but not too much and it's very grippy.I can't see needing to get the "grip skin" Speck makes as this one's not gonna slip out of your hand.Just as important, it appears to provide a lot of protection so that if it should somehow fall to the floor, the thick rubber would likely cushion the Treo and prevent it from getting damaged (unless it fell on the antenna).

It Rox my world
This headset has worked very well for me.Sound quality is great in the car or at home.I very rarely have to change the battery, it usually lasts about a month or so... and I'm a girl, you know I talk on the phone a lot.This is a great price, I paid much more from my local cingular store.Very comfortable on my ear, and I like the fact I can switch it around for either ear.

You Get What You Pay For
I've had this for two months, and while it is decent basic headset, there are major flaws.For reference's sake, I have this paired with a new Motorola L6 I got in May.The main power button is at best unreliable, and after reading reviews elsewhere I have come to the conclusion that this wasn't a faulty unit, it is endemic to the line--the power button is just faulty, twitchy, unreliable, whatever you want to call it.

Still rated 4 stars. In response to the June 23,2006 review, my ruler says 42 inches - 3 feet 6 inches. Maybe in four years since I wrote my review, Plantronics put a longer cord, maybe a customer suggestion or something made em do it.The measurements for the Mute and On/Off buttons are correct BUT they still are right next to each other, still have the same tactile feel as one another and so I'll still contend that it would be easy to disconnect instead of mute.
Doesn't quite do it
I ordered this phone after getting many positive comments about Plantronics phone quality. Unfortunately, the sound quality on this phone is no better then it was on the $10 phone I was replacing, also it lacks any speed dial features.I think there are comparable phones out there that cost a lot less.

The T10 works well--with a little help.
If people love cats or hate them, the T10 headset phone is no different. So many reviews were critical, I hesitated to even try one. But I'm glad I ordered a T10, and it's a keeper. Instead of giving the phone a good workout for several months, I'll review it now so as to report my initial experiences and address the complaints.

Great for short distances
I tried this within my house and it was great.I use it in an out building on the same electrical line as the house and it works fine except for a buzzing.This is apparently caused by the distance which is over 250 feet from the house.The buzzing is ok since this is just a phone extension but would not work for data.

Works well with computer modems
I bought this to use a computer in a room without a phone jack, and I was pleasantly surprised at the speeds it achieves on a dial-up connection (I was nervous about it, having read that these devices are not practical for dial-up modem use).
Works perfectly, even with DSL.
I installed this for use over a DSL enabled line.My 1st review gave this system only 2 stars since I got bad static, no caller ID, and only one ring on incoming calls.I have since learned that the culprit was a ComShare 750 phone/fax/modem switch incompatibility.Once that was eliminated, the jack system worked perfectly on both incoming and outgoing calls on my DSL enabled line.Sorry Southwestern for the earlier angst.This is a great system, certainly deserving of 5 stars. ...
