Worked at first but....
I bought this item about two months ago and was happy as can be. No more equipment in the tv room! About two weeks ago though, I noticed that the unit was slower and slower and I had to hit buttons repeatedly to get things done. It has eventually gotten to the point that it does not work at all. At first I thought it was batteries in the remote, so I replaced those a few times. Then I thought the placement of the IR transmitter was off, so I moved it closer to my AV rack. That worked at first, but the problem persisted so I reprogrammed, but to no avail. Eventually I narrowed it down to the remote unit. Even with the remote RIGHT NEXT TO THE IR Transmitter, it now does not work most of the time. Of course the real problem now is that all my av stuff is in a different room, so standard IR remotes (why do they even make those still????) are out of the question. I will be moving onto something else and keep my fingers crossed.
Good Cheap Remote
This remote fills a very small niche and does it well.Inexpensive RF remotes are hard to come by and this one is very fully featured.RF+learning+macros for $30? Wow!I plan on getting a few to control an mp3 player and amplifier in the basement for my whole-house audio system.

Confining to the ears, flat sound
I decided to move away from in-ear headphones (Sony MDR-EX71SL) for two reasons:1)The in-ear headphones pop out of my ears with the slightest accidental tug on the cord, e.g. crossing my arms, reaching for my coffee cup, etc.2)I wasn't getting as much noise reduction from the in-ear headphones as I wanted.I work at home, and we have a fussy baby, and older daughters who practice piano a lot.I also have three computers with noisy fans in my office.
Good price
This headphone does canceled some of the noise. I know all of the noise canceling headphones will not canceled 100% of the surrounding noise, and I did't expect too much on this headphone. This headphone only canceled about 10-20% of the surrounding noise, and it just not what I expected. I returned this head phone the next day.

A very good alternative to Bose
I tried my friends pair of Bose QC3 and fell in love with them, although I could never justify spending that much on a pair of earphones! Read more

Creative Earphones EP-630
These earphones are excellent quality. Noise that gets in from outside is so low that I can barely hear what someone next to me is telling me. In addition, the frequency response and quality of the sound is comparable to the much larger and bulkier insulated headphones.
EP630-Awesome Value
I bought these as an upgrade to the Sennheiser earphones that came with my iRiver 1/2 gig player. The stock 'phones were quite good, but did not fit my ear well. They kept falling out (annoying).The EP630 sounds even better and stay put very well. They do need to be put into the ear snugly to bring out good bass response and to shut out exterior noise. Selecting the proper size cushions (3 provided) will ensure this. They do require a good seal against your ear. They sound very, very good and I'm pickey (I'm a musician). I cannot imagine spending more money when these perform as well as they do! At under $30, they are a bargain. Don't hesitate to buy them. You won't be disappointed!

awesome sound, not so great usability
Good news first. Compared to any "open-air" earphones, these sounds fabulous. Very clear bass with pleasant mids and highs. I'm no audiophile, but I find these to produce extremely, extremely pleasing sounds. Now the bad news. I haven't tried any other "in-ear" earphones, but I'm sure most have this problem to some degree. The cord-noise, which comes from the cord hitting your shirt, the wind, itself, etc. is extremely annoying. If you're just using these sitting around, go for it, no question. But I find that walking around with these babies in can be not so fun, way counteracting the sublime sound they produce. (Mine have the right side longer than the left, as some Sony's are made. Not sure if this is true for all.) I have found wearing the right side behind my neck greatly reduces the cord noise. (Almost completely in the right side, and a little better in the left.) And putting the cord over your ear helps, too, but it just looks so dorky. And, of course, any noise created inside your body (eating, walking thumps, etc.) you hear amplified due to your ear canal being plugged. But I found that I got used to that real quick. An O.K. Keyboard with Cheesy Backlighting and no Fn Key
I wanted a keyboard that I could use in low light with both my PC and Mac, and this one is reasonably o.k. Those users who enjoy the backlight of a Mac PowerBook or MacBook Pro will be disappointed by the cheap approach Saitek used to illuminate the keys, though. On the Mac, each key has its own embedded light under the key. On the Saitek light is splashed under the entire keyboard, reducing the contrast and making it much harder to see the keys.But it's better than nothing, and is helpful in low light. It would have also been nice if they had an Fn key, but such is life.

Great keyboard, cheaply PAINTED keys
I've had this board for about a year now and about 7 of my keys are basically transparent keys with no paint left on them. Blue blobs essentially.

It's what I expected. The blue light makes it very easy to see the keys in the dark, and it looks pretty cool. I don't find it too bright, and there's a lower setting anyway. In search of an acceptable answering machine.
About a year ago I decided that it was time to retire my old Lucent A560 (later changed to a model 1715) answering machine I had on one phone line and a Code-A-Phone tape-type answerer on a second line.Having had very good luck with my Lucent solid-state unit with respect to reliability and absolutely excellent message & record voice quality, I purchased two AT&T 1738 replacements which had nearly the same form factor as the A560.Boy, was I wrong!
Best answerer I've had
Works precisely as advertised.None of the complaints in previous reviews hold for my experience. Specifically, battery backup works and sound quality of messages is excellent. Only negative: too many words spoken by the machine and they sometimes seem to overlap.

At last, a decent answering machine
Having gone through two crappy digital answering machines (the last one's speaker grew so weak that I had to put my ear up to it when replaying my messages), I scoured the `net looking for just a basic, reliable machine that actually worked and didn't peter out in a year.This one was about the only one that got consistently good reviews.And the price ($31 delivered) on Amazon was, at the time, the best deal I could find (kudos on that free shipping deal, Amazon!).Anyway, I've had it a month and it works fine.I'd give it five stars but my "announcement voice" sounds a bit "digitally warped."I can live with that.But what with all the other technological progress made in other spheres (I've got Dolby 6.1 surround-sound in my upstairs movie theater, for example), I've have thought that this sector of the home electronics industry would at least be able to match the voice quality that I enjoyed for 13 years on my old tape-driven answering machine.Otherwise, this machine's been excellent thus far. Good For Voice, Bad for Live Music
FYI:This microphone is for voice/lectures only, or line in recording such as from a stereo, its not for live music.Audio I recorded with it was often mildly distorted.Also, battery life is only an hour.So its not a good choice for bootleggers.

good deal
I bought this camera not expecting much because it is the lowest camera in sony's hard drive camera line. I love the zoom and the picture quality outside. Inside the quality of the picture is really grainy in low light conditions. The camera is really compact and light which makes it easy to handle and cary. I bought this camera for my wife after looking at cameras for 2 months and trying to decide weather we really needed a high end camera. She wanted the camera for taping our son who is just learning how to walk. She loves it.

Good camcorder if you are not serious about editing your footage
This camcorder does capture good video. But the main drawback is that it records in MPEG2 format (DVD quality). Initially its nice and easy to capture video and watch it on your computer by downloading the files using the USB 2.0 connection. It gives you instant gratification. But after capturing 4 or 5 hours of video, you will notice that your videos aren't so great as you expect it to be. Its not the fault with your camcorder. Its because all of us shoot extra footage, unwanted scenes, shakes, etc which we want to edit. You may want to add a title or two, add transitions, add backgroud music, combine your photos with the video, etc. Basically you may want to edit your footage. Its here when you find the major drawback of this camcorder. The MPEG2 quality video is not good for editing. The video quality is so compressed that you won't have sufficient bandwidth to edit the video.

It's interesting how people will give this a really crappy review based upon one feature, or upon the fact that they didn't RTFM before making a purchase (or at least make an educated purchase).

Is she back there ?
This Xantrex model works like a charm with a portable DVD player.We took an 11 hour car trip and in both directions I had to check and see if my daughter was awake or not.The DVD player and other devices just hummed along and made the trip a pleasure.

Does the job
Bought these cables to go with the new HDTV and the upconverting dvd player we recently bought. There was one particular movie that was suppose to look like amateur video, and if it weren't for the HDMI cable, it was very hard to see. Based on this, I would recommend this product especially for the price, it works.

Crash Test Dummy
In Dec 04 received one as a present. In June 05 it started shutting off on its own and then stopped turning on all together. Lost a weeks worth of sailing and diving in the Bahamas. Returned it to the store, bought a new one. It was handy and familiar thought I would give it another try. Since then it has dumped my saved Points of Interest THREE times. Now the other day it crashed and defaulted to to a screen called "Burn In Test". Fortunately it did this after I copied off my latest Points of Interest. Now I have a Garmin eTrek Legend.

this is my first GPS, its working very well for me, u can trace the way your walking then inverse it to find your way back, you can convert the trace into routes, it has the usa map, but the map wont work in mexico, it will only give you the main roads of the country. good stuff

good for what it is
I see a lot of reviews saying, "Good entry level GPS!" I do not agree with this statement at all. With a GPS you should always START with the best one you can afford that does what you need. That way you are not buying one to practice on just to realize you need another one. Then you are out of $100 for your "entry level" and $400 for the fancy pants Garmin. I own two GPS systems which are exactly what I need for the applications I use them for. If you need to do these things and nothing else. Buy this one and don't worry that you cannot monitor barometric pressure (I am a meteorologist and I don't need a barometer or a thermometer). Here is what this one will do wonderfully for you. If you are anywhere and you get lost. This one will easily get you to a city, lake, river, interstate, highway, or major road.My main reason for this is to save locations for future use such as: good fishing spots, tree stands for hunting, important businesses, etc. What makes this GPS so practical is it's simplicity. You cannot load a bunch of useless stuff on here that will just slow it down. Who really needs topo? What is great about hiking is NOT knowing what is over the next hill. Another great thing about this unit is it is light weight. I backpack with a lot of folks, some of which are scared of anything that weighs over half a pound. These same folks haul a huge, heavy GPS handheld in their backpack and never use it the whole trip! Another cool thing you can use this GPS for is bicycle and motorcycle application. It is easily mountable on a bike. The screen is large enough to be easily read on the go and the backlight works well at night. It won't hurt this thing if you crash either. It is built like a tank. If it starts to rain, you do not have to worry because it is almost totally waterproof. In everyday application, I keep this thing in my cargo pocket. If I find a neat store or a great view along a mountain road I can quickly save the spot, give it a name, and cool little icon from the list. Nice, Effective, A Bit Confusing
I have an old TI-89 and I needed this unit to upgrade my TI's OS.When I installed the software and launched the application my PC could see my calculator but many functions weren't available to me.Ultimately I figured out how to upgrade my 89's OS and all is well.

The adapter works great. But you do NOT need to buy it separately as an add-on to the TI Voyage 200 calculator (as was suggested before check out) since it was included with the calculator (at least in our package).

AWESOME PRODUCT
I've been using Memorex DVD-R for almost a year now and I should say this product is awesome!I never had a bad DVD, unlike other blank DVD which I usually get error during write or sometimes won't play on my Toshiba player.I have an HP DVD writer. It cost a little more compared to other brands but since I'm not wasting any of it due to bad write, it actually ended being cheaper.And with this price from Amazon...it makes it even better.

Watch out for water!
I too liked the case.However, my clip fell off after I rode an amusement ride and got it slightly wet.Oops, I reattached it three times, first with glue, then with wire, then with glue and wire only to have it fall apart.I may buy it again--but be sure to keep it out of the rain!

CHEAP SOLUTION BUT COST VARIES WILDLY
I purchased a pack of these memorex sleeves or a memorex version very similar to these at Circuit City without first looking at the price. I was astounished to be charged 7.99 plus tax. I purchased the same sleeves at Walmart later the same day for 2.99. Ciruit City has great prices on many things (particularly electronics) but these miscellaneous items can be waaaay overpriced. (Same is true of many items at Office Max). I am not aware of dvd or cd sleeves that are cheaper than these memorex sleeves (when purchased from Walmart or a simlar discounter at least) and they get the job done. These sleeves are fairly light paper but not nearly as light as the open-ended sleeve in which a netflix or blockbuster dvd is stored in. These sleeves do have a flap so the entire cd or dvd is protected.

These Are Very Handy - Very Practical!
These are simply envelopes for your cds and dvds. Can't say anything else about them - except this - I noticed when I opened the box they came in 'my' sleeves were wrapped tightly with a rubber band which caused them to be somewhat crumpled upon removing the rubber band. It did not really affect them adversely, but just be aware that yours may come this way also.

Well, what can I say? They are CD Sleeves, they are all basically the same. These come in a 50 pack box and have a hole in the back to put a flap in to hold it down, this comes in handy if you are mailing the disks in these CD Sleeves. I use these in my new SONY 405, and they are great. The camera reminds you to use SONY discs, but despite the fact that I am a big SONY fan for the most part, their discs are expensive. These are a great buy thru Amazon.

you only use a cordless drill from time to time, there's not much need for this battery. But, if you use the cordless circular saw, or perhaps the hammer drill, the extra oomph from the XRP is well worth the extra bucks.
