5-0 out of 5 stars Unbelievable quality, ease, value, sound
I just can't get over this thing! It took me longer to take it out of the box than to set it up. I love that it has a very small control center, with a long cable to the woofer, where other speakers are connected. It is very easy to hide just about everything. This product is beyond words in terms of value. How on earth they give you so much for a few hundred dollars is shocking. The speakers are small, very discreet. The control center is elegant, very easy to operate. The remote is unlit, unfortunately, and I expect I'll lose it.I wish it came with a quality universal remote, but this is my only gripe. The rear wireless speakers worked perfectly the second I plugged them in.There was ZERO set up.I would say that unless you want to spend over a thousand dollars, this is the best thing available. You cannot adjust treble or bass, by the way, the only compromises I notice, but I don't even notice. It sounds great on live concert DVDs and movies. Finally, aperfect solution at a perfect price. This rarely happens!

4-0 out of 5 stars Shop for a price
If you shop around, you should be able to get this item (including shipping) for under $300. At that price, it's not a bad deal. For every $50 above $300, knock a star from my review. Why? That sound isn't really all that special. I do not mean to say that these sound bad, by any stretch. Just that there are better sounding setups. I have a 2.1 Klipsch on one of my set ups, and that sound simply slaughters what this can do in 2.1 (stereo) mode. And yes, I'm aware of Klipsch's reliability issues - Fortunately, I only know this from reading about it. But for pure sonic bang for buck? The Klipsch sings circles around Logitech's offering.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great sounding and nice looking system.
For the price there are few PC speaker systems that can compare with Logitech's. I have had these for some 5 months now and haven't been disappointed once. The sound is great and they just flat out look nice. The corded volume control is nice but the red lights on the controller is a strange choice for color. The bass does sound good after some tweaking but for really nice bass you will need for fork over a little more $.
1-0 out of 5 stars fire hazard
We purchased this system less than two years ago.It has seen light to moderate use.Several days ago, the speakers started intermittently cutting out. This afternoon, the subwoofer popped several times--then caught fire!Fortunately, my son was able to extinguish the flames before much damage was done.Beware!!!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Good for laptops!
First I was concerned that I will have to buy an external sound card to support the 5.1 setup for my laptop. But you can just plug in the green cable (out of the three provided for a conventional 5.1 sound card) in the stereo output of your laptop (like for the 2.1 speakers). There is a switch behind the sub-woofer which you can toggle between 2.1, 4.1 and 5.1. So change it to 2.1 and then turn on the Matrix function on the remote. This will give you a pretty good surround sound experience! When the matrix function is off, the front and rear speakers will give the same sound. But when it is turned on, the rear speakers provinde a nice background surround sound. Also, you can change the sub, center and rear speaker volumes from the remote.

Immerse yourself in crisp, consistent surround sound while watching movies or playing games with the Logitech X-530 5.1 speaker system. The X-530 comes with four 7.4-watt satellite speakers and a 15.5-watt center speaker, each with a pair of 2-inch drivers, along with a 25-watt subwoofer with a 5.25-inch woofer. 5-0 out of 5 stars Great :)
i love these speakers they are perfect for my huge computer desk there was nothing there before and now it looks awesome with my pc.the sub is the best ever i can shake my entire house with it (my house is pretty big) and the stands for the sattelites are very sturdy despite what others have said.it is very simple setup and goes great with any type of theme that you have going on with your computer the only thing wrong with it is that i dont have a sound card for it so i cant get the full surrond sound right now but i reccomend this to anyone who is a big gamer or loves loud music.when you live in the middle of nowhere you can rock all night long

3-0 out of 5 stars Good, but there are better
I replaced some 2.1 Creative Itrigue 3200s with this system.Benefit - 5.1 surround sound from Logitech works well.Loss - Sound quality. The Itrigues are much better sounding system.
4-0 out of 5 stars Excellent value and sound
I purchased these speakers for $42 incl'd shipping off of eBay and hooked them up today. They sound very good, but the bass is always on. Not overbearing, but it would be nice to set it lower than thelowest setting that is offered. The control on the sub is also very inconveniently placed in the back, next to all the wiring.

Creative Lab's Inspire P5800 5.1 Surround Sound Speaker System has 72 watts of power, the most in its class, for more explosive gaming in 5.1 surround sound. And it was designed with a more powerful center satellite to match the audio requirements of the latest games and movies. The P5800 also has a wired remote that can be conveniently placed anywhere on the desktop, unlike other systems that cut costs by integrating the controls into one of the speakers. It includes a bass level control for personalized adjustment (far more user-friendly than making you crawl on the floor to the subwoofer to turn up the bass!) and a headphone jack for private listening.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Speaker System
I grudgingly decided to get a new PC speaker system after the "puck" controller on my Monsoon 3-piece system went bad (Monsoon is out of business so replacement parts are not available). Quality sounds means alot to me as I constantly listen to mp3's and streaming audio while at my desk, I am also an avid gamer (BF2, Doom3, etc).
5-0 out of 5 stars Don't Look Any More - These are the speakers for YOU!
I spent a lot of time looking and listening to a lot of different speakers in the local electronics stores.I kept going back to look at these online and read the reviews. For the money I thought I can't go wrong, and when I first hooked them up, I thought they did not sound any better than my old speakers--UNTIL I adjusted the sound under the SURROUND MIXER (under advanced tab)- moved all the settings in the middle except for the subwoofer. It made a world of difference. These speakers sound incredible!BIG sound for such a small price.Don't Look Any More - These are the speakers for YOU!

5-0 out of 5 stars Wow
I wont get technical cuz honestly i know little close to nothing about speakers. But im into music alot so i thought i'd update my laptop speakers...big time. And these things are nicer than any other speaker I'VE heard. The SUB sounds nice, n if u combine them with the Creative soundblaster the options and preferences are limitless! Dont even THINK about whether you should buy them, at the price, its a steal. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Not good as Expected from the previous ratings

Editorial Review

A home theater speaker system that truly looks as good as it sounds, Mission's M-Cube 5.1 package is a must for the discriminating movie and music fan. The M-Cube system, which comes with five satellite speakers and a powerful 250-watt subwoofer, was engineered using distributed mode loudspeaker (DML) flat-panel technology, which combines wide-ranging acoustics with freedom in aesthetic design. As a result, Mission had the flexibility to team with British designers Seymour Powell to create a compelling cube-shaped housing that measure 3.5 inches in each direction. The compact speaker size is perfect for wall or ceiling mounting (three speaker brackets are included), or for placing on a bookshelf near the main listening area (Mission also included two attractive floor stands for the front speakers, which fit discreetly on either side of the TV). The headliner, though, is the elegant ivory color and the listener's choice of olive-, ruby-, or umber-colored fabric wraps. The wraps fit tightly around the sides, letting you tailor the speakers' design to your personal taste and furniture style.

Features

  • Aesthetically pleasing 5.1 speaker system with 5 satellite speakers and 250-watt subwoofer
  • Advanced NXT driver panels reproduce smooth, crisp, balanced audio in all directions
  • Sub's twin 8-inch bass drivers deliver rich, powerful low-frequency effects
  • Elegant ivory housing with choice of 3 wrap colors; includes 2 stands, 3 wall-mount brackets, and cables
  • Satellites measure 3.5 inches square; sub measures 12.67 inches square; 1-year warranty

5-0 out of 5 stars High end performance with new technology.
These speakers are ready to go right out of the box with everything you need to hook them up: cables, stands and wall mounts included. NXT Flat Panel tech sounds different than what your use to hearing, but in a good way.The "sweet spot" really is much larger than any sub/sat system I have heard. The difference is that the crossover is set much higher, over 250hz.So the sub has to play more of the mid and low range.I would say if your into heavy bass lines this is not your system. But the M-Cube sound is crystal clear and this system plays loud! You can't believe how loud these cubes go without distortion and the sub keeps right up.I recomend you follow the manual and give them a"break in period" of a week or so, because the sound did mellow a little bit.I left the radio on when I went to work. After that I let them rip. I purchased the Ivory color system and it goes fine with my siver components and Plasma,The color bands are kind of cool to change up the look of your room. What Mission gives you in the M-Cube is the best looking sub/sat system out there with high end build and high end sound. I have owned sub/sat systems from Klipsch, KEF, andB&W and while the sound is different from all of them,I'm sure I will have these a long time. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Inexpensive and decent
First off, some clarification:
1-0 out of 5 stars Many alternatives available at the market
I bought this product (cost 40) for company use (that's why it's cost 40) base on coworker's recommendation from another office. The quality is disappointed after I installed & tested it. It's not shielded so the interference is quite a serious problem, but I won't get blame afterall since this is not my decision.
1-0 out of 5 stars Please, spare yourself the trouble
Well first the description is very overstated. I went out looking for some surround sound speakers to replace my ones i have now (which arent bad), and found something that looked good on paper (the box), but dont sound nearly as good. I didnt set it up in the room, I noticed the wires are very short, I like to atest the speakers just out of the box rather than set it up and be dissapointed, i put on one song (rap), and it sounded at first like a pleaser, but when I turned the volume up, the bass distorted. The flat panel (and somewhat heavy) speakers aren't really that bad, but the sub isn't that good. It distorts very easily and I dont reccomend this to music- people. The bass isn't bad at low volume though, but you really can't push this system far without it interfering with you (attempting) to enjoy your music. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars decent, for the price.
logitech now makes a 5.1 set(with more powerfull satelites), where they seem to have corrected the design problems of the z-560. I've owned two sets(rma'd the first one after the sub blew, and the satelites stopped working, and they arent cheap to ship), and you really need not to push bass too high if you want them to last. There's a basic cooling problem with these, and without ACTIVE cooling on the rear heatsink(on the sub) it will blow. You can use air for cooling, just make sure its well ventilated, and has a fan pointing DIRECTLY at the heatsink.

5-0 out of 5 stars Logitech Z560 Speakers "Still Awesome After 3 Years"
These speakers combined with my 3000+ music title collection are still my pride and joy!

4-0 out of 5 stars Cool Speakers !
I love these little speakers and totally recommend them. They make a nice addition to my 30 sqft home office.Sound quality is good. Nice and clear high and mid tones. It gives a punch at low frequencies (not very deep, though), which is not bad at all. They far exceed the quality you'd expect for such price.

5-0 out of 5 stars Simply amazing
I adore these speakers, they do everything i could ever want, AND they look cool.Of course, I got them with a creative 2zs gamer sound card, so make sure you have a decent sound card or you wont be able to plug them into your comp., OR if you have onboard 7.1 it will sound like sh%t.Great speakers overall.

1-0 out of 5 stars Not a very good experience for me...
After purchasing these speakers and setting them up, I was very happy with my decision in buying a quality product. A few weeks later I noticed that after playing a song, or watching a movie, the speakers made a sound comparable to switching night vision on while playing Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell, but going from a higher to a lower pitch. I was finally getting fed up with it so I called Creative's tech support. They took me through the steps to make sure it wasn't the sound card. After many calls they issued me an RMA number. I sent them off, paying $15 and waited. I found out that they sent me a completely new set and labled the last one as having a "cosmetic defect". Once I recieved the new set I realized that they were worse than my first set with a constant high pitch noise no matter what.

The headliner, though, is the elegant midnight black color and the listener's choice of olive-, ruby-, or umber-colored fabric wraps. The wraps fit tightly around the sides, letting you tailor the speakers' design to your personal taste and furniture style.

Features

  • Aesthetically pleasing 5.1 speaker system with 5 satellite speakers and 250-watt subwoofer
  • Advanced NXT driver panels reproduce smooth, crisp, balanced audio in all directions
  • Sub's twin 8-inch bass drivers deliver rich, powerful low-frequency effects
  • Elegant midnight black housing with choice of 3 wrap colors; includes 2 stands, 3 wall-mount brackets, and cables
  • Satellites measure 3.5 inches square; sub measures 12.67 inches square; 1-year warranty

4-0 out of 5 stars Wonderfully and aesthetically pleasing to the eye and ears, but...
First of all, I would like to say that given the preceding reviews before me, I am in no way affiliated, coerced or paid by Mission to write this review. I did this just to let you know how I enjoy (or not enjoy, read on) these speakers for the last 1.5 years that I've owned them. And yes, this is my first official review on Amazon.com.
5-0 out of 5 stars Margot is Right on the Money
I worked overseas selling high end audio speakers like Infinity Kappa series, Mordaundt Short, Kef, Mission, Wharfedale and B&W. (I wanted a pair of those so bad I could taste it!).Oh yes, we also carried the 'high end' line such as Infinity's lower lines, Polk, the lower end of Klipsch and of course, Bose.
5-0 out of 5 stars Huh?
For the gentleman who "hasn't heard these speakers"...C'mon. Just another marketing robot for Bose Corporation, spewing out a "review" that's as accurate as the speakers he touts...which is NOT AT ALL!

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent product!!
I searched all over the net for a review of these speakers, couldn't find any that were informative enough (there were two short reviews for the D2100) so i chose to buy the speakers and see for myself. Apparently the only difference between the D2100, D4100 and D5100 is the number of satellite speakers...I got the D4100 today and these speakers ROCK!!

Editorial Review

PCWorks FourPointSurround FPS1000 consists of four 3"-wide satellite speaker cubes, plus a compact, floor-standing subwoofer cabinet. The four compact satellites create realistic four-channel positional audio while the subwoofer can be positioned on the floor -- behind your TV, under your desk, or in back of furniture, out of the way, for best bass response. All four speakers are magnetically shielded, so they can be placed very close to a TV or a computer monitor. By using separate amplifiers for bass signals and mid- to high-frequency signals, PCWorks FourPointSurround FPS1000 system is able to play at normal listening levels without producing annoying distortion. This amplification process results in a clean, open sound you don't expect from a traditional speaker system. PCWorks FourPointSurround FPS1000 system delivers a carefully fine-tuned stereo sound system, with audio usually produced by expensive home surround stereo systems. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars An impressive low-budget speaker system
This is a very good low-budget speaker system, but there are a few drawbacks associated with the product. For the vast majority of users, PC games and audio CDs sound very good, and the four speakers do of course allow for stereo effects. The subwoofer is small enough to fit under your desk, the two front speakers are small enough to fit comfortably alongside your monitor, and the system is easy to hook up.
