5-0 out of 5 stars Incredible value
Just hooked up the Logitech to my new iMac. Have to tell you, kids, it wasn't long ago that a speaker system with this kind of quality would have another zero in the price. This system is that good. Listening to Ray Charles sing "Oh What a Beautiful Morning." He's right.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good but not Great
I received the speakers earlier today. I'm listening to them now. The bad news is that the cymbals don't sizzle. I read the other reviews about missing mid range. The mid range is there. Just not much presence on the high end. No bells. You won't hear any frets on the strings. On the other hand... these speakers could fill a stadium with music. The bass is effortless... and loud. You will spend more time turning down the volume than turning it up.

5-0 out of 5 stars GREAT SOUND FOR A DORM ROOM!!!
I bought these speakers a couple weeks ago to put in my dorm room. They are great!!! The balance is good and the bass can be heard down the hall. Like some other reviews I was skeptical about buying these speakers due to bad reviews about bass and mid range. But I'm glad I did! Definitely worth the money.

1-0 out of 5 stars what planet are we on
#1 Very little power. Hooked up to my ipod through the headphone jack with the volume maxed on both you can't make out much from across the room.
5-0 out of 5 stars Great Product
I have read all the other reviews for this product and find them to be good. The only thing I did not see is the fact that you can split the connection to the system with a simple head phone splitter from radio shack.Don't worry if both audio inputs are on at the same time the thing won't blow up.
5-0 out of 5 stars Great sound for the price!
I bought these speakers specifically to go with my IPod and to be used in my office. They work great.I also have a Bose SoundDock at home and I honestly have to tell you I think that the Creature II's sound 95% as good as the Bose at a fraction of the cost.I like them so much that I bought a second pair for our vacation home. The only draw back is that some people might not like the design. The Bose unit is cleaner and easier to just set on a shelf.I don't think that you will be disappointed if you buy Creature II's. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Sound System for College
My Logitech Z-4 arrived a while back in the mail and I never got around to writing up a review. The reason why I only gave the system 4 stars is because I have never actually played any music through the system... BUT the system still deserves at least 4 stars without hearing the sound quality... and here is why.
5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Computer Speaker For The Price
I cannot possibly imagine what the other reviewers expected. These are $70 computer speakers, not a multi-thousand dollar audiophile surround sound speaker system. For what these are, they deliver truly impressive sound - smooth, room vibrating, bass, crisp highs, and a midrange nearly perfect for computer games. If you prefer music, the midrange can be improved with only minor adjustments in a graphics equalizer - available in Windows Media Player (under "Enhancements" of the "View" menu) and any other decent media player. With a little equalizer tweaking, these speakers deliver exceptional music performance and are a true pleasure to listen to (rock, classic rock, jazz, or country).
3-0 out of 5 stars Very average product, and not all that loud
But I really only bought it for the sub, as I already have two near-field studio monitors.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great
For the price this is a great setup. Full bass, great treble, a touch weak in the midrange but its not bad, and for the price not bad at all. There is pretty hefty dose of power in these speakers, they can rattle the paintings on your wall handily. Setup is straightforward, plug and play. I really like the volume control knob: its unobtrusive and makes volume control on your computer much nicer, nice touch Logitech.
5-0 out of 5 stars Great sound
Okay so I am not sure if this is the exactly same model but it's probably really close. So I had crappy stock speakers and I wanted richer sound but not buying a thousand dollar system .. This was perfect. It gets pretty loud and it has rich sound and deep bass. You're not going to get the crazy bass you get with bigger more expensive things, but for the price, these speakers/subwoofer is great.I plugged into my lap top and it's 50 steps up from that sound. The sound is reallyyyyy good for the size/price.I can dance to my favorite hits no problem with these, you can defintely feel the bass. I would defintely reccomend them.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great sound, great price, good bargin
I bought this speaker system for the office, so I was not looking for something to rattle the walls and wake up the kids.I wanted something with a good base sound for mellow background tunes, and this system really delivers.I read the reviews that talk about this system not having the best mid-range sound, and I would have to agree.Certain CD's seem to lack a little clarity, but for the most part the sound is terrific!Bottom line, I was not looking for a state of the art digital monster speaker system, but I did want something that out performed the ordinary. After the rest of the office goes home and I am burning the midnight oil, I have been know to open the system up a little to hear what it can do...You can hear the thump of the sub four offices down, and the satellite speakers can really blast you away.Anyway, great speakers for the price, and I am positive you will not be disappointed with you purchase. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Very nice for the price
I found these speakers while looking for some speakers to compliment my Saitek 2 Illuminated keyboard. The speakers they replaced were some old Vaio speakers from my old computer. The speakers themselves look cool, and the sound they produce is decent when compared to my older computer speakers.the sub is on the boomy/bloomy side.I had an Altec xa3001 before, and I think that that sub sounded a bit better. For the fun stuff. In a dark room, these speakers do exactly what you want them to do...Glow, the multicolor effect is cool, the "beat" detect olny kicks in at high volume.Specs are:

3-0 out of 5 stars Warranty info is bogus
I got the box with the styrofoam inside broken and the 10 year part of the warrany crossed out by a marker.Inside the owners manual, it says it only has a 90 day limited warranty, and that is only valid if you register within 5 days of purchase.I don't know what is going on, but there is a hell of a big difference between 10 years and 90 days.Plus, if it takes 3 days to get to me, I would only have 1 or 2 days to register for it to even be valid. Sound is average if you own a serious home theater already. Better than tv speakers, but I would have looked longer if I knew I was going to be jammed on the warranty.Refurb ones have the same warranty for $50 less from their sister company, athena technologies.

5-0 out of 5 stars ASTOUNDING SOUND QUALITY AND VALUE
I actually do not own a XBOX.I want a SMALL surround sound system for my living room and I don't want too many bulky electronics.I decided to for for Spherex based on many raved reviews. The satellite speakers are based on the highly-regarded Omnipolar technology developed by Mirage system.
4-0 out of 5 stars Had everything I need ... however
Ok, to start off I'm not an audiophile. I have used and dived into tens, if not hundreds, of audio and video devices and systems. I get to know what I buy and don't stop at just getting a component to work.

5-0 out of 5 stars GREAT college system
This is one of the coolest systems available for a college student. The music fills space beautifully and clearly and is easy to carry around. Don't be deceived, the woofer is a lot bigger than it looks in the picture. Best system for the money. Period.

5-0 out of 5 stars excellent desktop speaker system
a great speaker system for the Mac... the beauty is not just skin deep, it sounds as good as it looks. Use the Mac itunes equalizer to fine tune the sound to your individual taste.

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful for music!
I just bought these speakers to replace my old set of Cambridge Soundworks, which I must say, did a very decent job for the last 4 years. Being a TOTAL music lover, I am VERY picky about sound quality, even if it is just from a computer where is going to be coming from! I of course don't expect computer speakers with a sub-woofer to sound like a pair of Pro-Standing speakers, but I want at least to be able to hear downloads or CDs with decent sound quality while at work...Well, after much research and LISTENING, I went ahead and bought a pair of Encounters. Before buying them, I compared them with the Creature and Soundsticks speakers, also by JBL. I have to say the Encounter have a better imaging and a deeper warmer sound than the Soundsticks. The Creature ones simply don't even get close! As I pointed out, these are computer speakers, and as such, the bass (specially)is artificial, a sound that lacks "breath"; but...what could you expect for a plastic sub-woofer? On the other hand, is the most decent bass sound I've ever heard from computer speakers! better and more natural than any other sub-woofer on this price range and considerably higher. The mid and high registers sound really nice, great stereo separation, and as pointed out before, nice warmth without sounding un-natural. The power handling is superb! you get 13Watts RMS from this mini speakers plusa 34watts subwoofer...enough sound to fill a mid size room with excellent sound quality. You won't get the fancy design of the Soundsticks, but the sound of the Encounter is considerably better, and that ultimately is what I care about. Very higly recommended! ... Read more

I just received these speakers a week ago, and they are a great set of speaker for $18, but the only reason why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was because of the shipping, it is very expensive because their 10 lbs.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great!!!
I am not really a big tech person so I don't have the mega system hooked up to my computer and DVD/TV but I do know that since I got this I have been blasting my music like crazy.I don't really mind too much that the power and volume is under the desk because I have enough space down there and all I have to is lean down...Anyway I personally feel the only way it could be better was if there was a remote for it and it gets hella loud (considering its computer speakers) I don't even have to turn them all the way up to hear them when I'm in the shower so I am pretty much happy with them.

2-0 out of 5 stars Low durability
When I received these speakers, I was very pleased. They were easy to set up and connect, sounded great and the subwoofer was fairly strong - more than served the purpose of laptop speakers. However, after a couple months of use, not even on high volume, the subwoofer began to blow out and barely plays bass anymore. This may have just been my set of speakers, which is why I rated it a two.I'm not really that surprised at the low durability of these speakers, since they were so cheap, but I never thought I would lose them within a couple months.

These speakers sound almost as good as my surround sound unit for my entertainment center.

3-0 out of 5 stars It depends upon your needs and preferences
I've been using Cyber Acoustics low end speakers for a few years.I just wanted speakers for a pc I put together myself, and they were clean although a bit tinny.I like to hear vocal and piano, and they get by.I just got this 3 piece set as an upgrade, and although the two peripheral speakers are a bit better than my original pair, the boom box kicks out bass even when I turn it off on the right speaker (which is the only control over it I have as my sound card has very limited controls). To me the boom box is an over compensation...like saying "now let's add bass."I've faced it against the wall and put a towel over it.I'll probably give these to a friend, and get their two speaker product. The only reason I have to do that is the power supply runs through the boom box first, and then to the periperal speakers.
4-0 out of 5 stars Really good for the money
I gave the system four stars, taking the price into consideration. They are not the equal of better systems like Altec Lansing, but they are really good for the price. We actually use a set as our stereo speakers in the kitchen. I don't know of a satellite-subwoofer system for the price that even comes close.

4-0 out of 5 stars Really good sound on games and movies!
I originally bought for my MP3 player, but started using it for my notebook. Really crisp sound, sounds wonderful on dramatic games and movies, but not on heavy bass. The sub is very "thump sensitive" meaning it WILL thump of of any thing. It pumps out lots of air. P.S. dont listin to those people that are saying nothin but bad stuff, personally I think they are from other companies trying to prevent people from buying the product! So thats what i have to say.

5-0 out of 5 stars Surprising Sound
I was an audio nut long before I was a computer nut and am rather particular about sound.I bought these speakers as a gift for a friend and set them up for her with her computer. At the price, I figured that they would be speakers that would "get her by" so that she could hear what was going on with her computer.
5-0 out of 5 stars Amazing for the price
I was looking for big sound with a very small price tag to fit in a small space and I found it!I am very fussy about sound but knew I didn't have the wallet at the moment to match. But since my very old speakers crapped out, adequate speakers would be better than no music at all.THis system came as a very welcome surprise. The sound is crisp.Subwoofer provides a reasonable amount of bass (you won't get floor thumping out of it) and is not too big for the shelf it needs to fit on.It gets quite a range of sound for the price. And it produces fairly big sound -- not at all that tinny compressed sound of cheap PC speakers.I expected maybe one step up given the price tag but got so much more.If you are on a budget, this is the way to go.

5-0 out of 5 stars Better than expected!
Before I begin, I bought this set as a gift (was on sale for around $35), but own a Logitech Z-640. Pleased with the Z-640, I decided to buy from Logitech again. Now, to the review!
2-0 out of 5 stars Doesn't work at high volume.
After finding impressive online reviews, I bought my Logi...Z-3i speakers almost a month back. However, I paid only 30 dollars, I amcompletely disgruntled by the fact that they stop palying the music at the hight volume. Soon, they will find their way back to Amazon. I am not sure whether only my unit is defective or is it a wide spread glitch. I am using them with laptop. I have checked all the connections, wires, and my laptop but the problem seems to reside in the speakers not with the laptop or anything. So be careful!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Great speakers for the price
I was looking for a nice set of speakers for the home office for a few months. I came across these online and they happened to be on sale. I decided to give them a go and see if they would work out. They do, and then some!

5-0 out of 5 stars I have these as a home theater
These came whith our old computer and i was amased at the sound they prodused At this moment These are hooked up to my Tv in my room So all the tv i watch . My mom says they soud like a Movie theater So i say if you see these at any stor you should buy them right away!

5-0 out of 5 stars INCREDIBLE!!!
I got these speakers the other day... one word WOWWWW!!!...considering their size, The BA 635 is like a mini Mike Tyson that has more than enough rumble & punch to "KO" the competition. Friends often come over thinking the music they hear is from my Harman Home theatre amp but are often surprised and amused at the sound coming from these babies. Its such a trip listening to your favourite music wondering at the same time how sound just magically fills the room with life!! I listened to Harman/Kardon's soundsticks (very pretty), JBL's invaders, a whole variety of colorful Creative and Altec Lansing speakers...Hands down, those were all trash. I Tell you, Boston has created a beast of a sound system with these. In terms of pure performance take my word for it, (except for the bose multimedia speakers@5times the price) NOTHING else comes close to these!!!
5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent buy
I've had these speakers for FIVE years and have not had any problems whatsoever. They are small, but deliver incredibly clear sound. They can get surprisingly loud and the subwoofer is quite good.I would recommond these speakers to anyone. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome
Bought them last year, I enjoy every second of it :)3-0 out of 5 stars Nice, cheap speakers
The Labtec Surge 17 is a good speaker set.The sound produced is very clear and doesn't distort, even at high volumes. They also come with a Y-cable making it easy to hook up to a video game console, vcr, or dvd player via standard RCA cables. However, they do leave something to be desired. First, the bass produced by the 4 inch driver is a little underwhelming. I have heard better from similarly price spearkers. Second, there is no headphone jack.Overall, a good set of speakers, but not perfect.

5-0 out of 5 stars GREAT!
I picked this 3-piece speaker set at a store in Sydney for a mere AU$60. At this price, I didn't expect them to be anything special, but when I hooked it up to my PC I was amazed a the sound quality! The sattelite speakers were of suprisingly high quality and the subwoofer was great. Not the meatiest, but still excellent for rock and similar style music. Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Is the craftsmanship was as good as the sound.......
These would be excellent value speakers.Fro under 100 bucks they provide a wide range of sound. From crisp highs to thumping lows. For about a week. First off, I got the speakers and a corner piece on the sub fell off.Yep, just fell off.Cheap glue.No biggie. The speaker is under my desk anyway but it does go to show you that these are sub 100 buck speakers for a reason. They are not put together with any degree of quality workmanship.I could live with that however the satellite speakers beginning to crackle in just under a week. That of course was unacceptable. I listen to rock mostly.Throw in a little techno, which I did to see how it sounded on these speakers. I did not however overdrive these speakers. Not with power or volume control. They simply blew without any real provocation. If you only ever listen to music at extremely low levels these are pretty good speakers for the money. If you turn your music up at all then I would steer clear of Acoustic Authority alltogether.

2-0 out of 5 stars Loud, yes. Good, no.
I bought these speakers based on many recommendations I read around the Internet, most of which made reference to the amazing volume levels you can achieve. However, once I unpacked the system and tried playing some of my music files I immediately noticed two problems: First, the bass produced by the subwoofer is quite "muddy," and makes the bass drums basically indistinguishable from bass guitar. Secondly, the satellite speakers have noticeable distortion in the midrange frequencies, so much so that I had to stop playing one particular song because I was getting headache from it.
5-0 out of 5 stars Huh? What?!! I can't hear you!!
You gotta get these speakers!Try unreal Tournament just for starters! Then pop in one of your favorite hip hop or dance tunes and let er rip!Just be kind to your fellow neighbors and do it at decent hour of the day! Next check out a good Jet Li DVD and enjoy the fun!Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Nice for the money, yet......
These work and sound really nice for their price range. I am very impressed. The service from Amazon was swift and sure. I think very highly of Amazon. Back to the speaker system....They are currently in use in my apartment, and are very suitable for apartment living and listening to music at reasonable levels. In fact, i have the bass volume turned all the way down, and it provides enough 'oomph' for the rock and jazz I listen to. The mids are a little weak, but this can be expected of 2-way systems in this price range. The bright blue lights were a bit of a shock, but I am getting used to them. A drawback is that they are made in China, and all that that implies. But I will keep them, despite my feelings about sending money to that country. I like the speaker system a lot, and like their sound. They cannot do what studio class monitors do, but, hey, like it was stated....So, if you are looking for a 'good bang for the buck', and can stomach sending money to China, these are a great buy. Hookup was easy, and the sound is pleasing. ... Read more
