Excellent choice
We use the ATT E2562 Expandable base with a full compliment of 8 extra handsets. We use them in conjunction with our Vonage internet phone service which has two lines. The range is very good ... it goes all over the house and even into the neighbor's yard.It works great and gives us a lot of flexibility in putting phones where we want them.
Expected better from AT&T
I actually find the sound quality and range pretty good, but I think the system is designed poorly. I can't tell you how many times I have been on the phone and wanted to scroll through my caller ID to get a number for someone I was talking to. No dice, it won't do that. There are a number of issues like that. I can't program it to prefer line 2 to make calls. You may think this is a not a big deal, except I don't like to reveal the line 1 number to my clients via there caller ID. So there went my private line.
I love these phones
I needed a two-line phone for my home / home office. I looked at a lot of phones, and while none were "perfect" for what I wanted this one is close. I wanted two lines, a base station, and expandible handsets. This phone has all of that. The only thing I didn't need was the answering machine. I use Phone Co. Voice Mail. I wish this phone would tell me that I had messages in the VM, but it doesn't unless you use its built in answering machine. (The SBC phone did show a light when there was VM, but it was not a two line phone).

All in all this is an excellent phone
As you may already know, this is an accessory handset which will only work if you have one of these Panasonic models: KX-TG2700/KX-TG2720, KX-TG2730/KX-TG2740.
With the right battery, this is a very good home/office phone
I searched a year ago for a home cordless phone/answering system all in one to take the place of my somewhat outdated cordless phones and separate answering machine.Looked at many models and finally settled on the Panasonic KX-TG2700 series.I am impressed, and my family loves it.Yes, we still have the old corded standby for power outages, but these phones have worked well for 2 years now, and I bought a second system for my home office with 2 line capability. Then found an add on handset/clock radio to reduce the clutter on my nightstand. So, has lots of good functions, and everyone has one in their room and me in my office and by my bed.Only complaint was the battery life - very poor.I use the speakerphone feature in my office for conference calls and was always having to revert to the corded model to complete the call.Told Panasonic about this and the only response was to ship me a new battery, which I charged just as they stated. But poor battery design. So I did a little research and found Eveready made an Energizer battery that supposedly cured the problem.I bought a box from an on line retailer and replaced all the handset batteries, one by one, charging each as the phone instructions said.WORKS GREAT!!Batteries are sold by Technuity, Inc. and are model ER-P511.Now my phones have been in operation for over a year with these batteries and never lost a charge or cut my call off.If you find a good deal on this phone, go for it now before they sell out.Really good to use and easy to learn.I even have a door paging system/doorbell hooked up to the phone line and these phones do a great job when I use this for door intercom. And the bedside clock radio works great, sounds great for a clock radio.Panasonic got the design right - they look a little clunky, but work great. The reason I'm writing this is I'm looking for a couple more handsets before they phase out this phone. Not ready to go 5.8 gig yet.By the way, wireless modems have problems with cordless phones so we're still in the wired mode around here for the internet connection.
FunctionallyInferior
Oops! One would expect by looking at the photo of this phone that it would rest in the charger when not in use.Wrong!According to Panasonic the charger is only for charging a completely dead phone. If you rest them in their chargers instead of letting the battery completely discharge, the battery will die a very early death.

Feature rich phone BUT...
This phone has all of the features I wanted, call waiting, call display, 100 number phonebook, etc. However, I have received numerous complaints from the people I phone that I sound distant andmuffled, like I am calling from a cell phone or like I have a cold. This does not improve by my repositioning the handset. From my end everything is clear.I am going to buy a headset for hands free calling.I hope that this improves the voice clarity/quality for those I am talking to.
Uniden DCT 646 Phone
Excellent phone with many features for the price. I may buy an additional handset for this expandable phone system.
Great Phone..plan on purchasing more of them.
This phone has worked out great for our company. It has great reception and range. It also has a very small footprint on the desk. The only thing that some users complain about is how small the buttons are when dialing.

Buy Cheap, Get Cheap!
The buttons on these phones don't last long.My original set with the answering machine started to have the buttons stick after 1 year.I bought the replacement phone in November, and finally gave up in April.3 phones, 3 phones that don't shut off (the buttons wore out).
If you want to own it only for 2 years
I initially had three handsets. Two of them are broken because the pads stopped working only after one year for one and another one year for another.
Great if you only want the phone for a year...PHONE PAD ISSUES
As so many others have stated, my key pads are going.I thought I was nuts the other day when I tried to put in my voicemail code and nothing worked. What the heck?I took down the customer service number and I'm hoping they will help me out.I'll write again and change my view if they replace the 2 phones.I mean, you pay over $125 for phones that only work for about 10 months. That's insane.

I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
I have a job as a PSO and this is the best phone to use so you can do everything around the house and be ready when you get a call. It's an awesome phone. If there are any other PSO'sout there get this phone!
I will never again buy a non-plantronics cordless phone
I bought this phone to replace a similar Uniden model that I'd had to replace twice in as many years.Plantronics has a good reputation so I figured I'd give this one a try.I find it utterly convenient and high-quality.The sound quality is better than my older and larger cordless in the house -- the one that doesn't even have a headset! It's tiny, so I can slip it into a pocket or clip it onto my belt.I walk around with it all the time because I forget it's on.Yesterday, I put it down on the kitchen counter, and accidentally knocked it into water, totally immersing it.I opened it up and let it dry out as best as I could.Today I called Plantronics's tech support and said that, while the display worked, the phone rings, and the voicemail light still operates, the actual buttons don't.I was hoping they could tell me whether I needed to let it dry out more or if they recommended simply buying a new one.Instead, and to my surprise and delight, as it was still under warrantee, they politely and pleasantly informed me are sending me a new one, no questions asked! They didn't even care that it was my fault! That's what I call good service.Even if I hadn't been a fan of the product already, this would have made me a convert.
Good reception, easy to use
I really enjoy being able to walk around and talk on the phone hands free. The little ear piece isn't the best design, but over all I really like this phone and the quality of the reception that I get. I highly recommend this phone for anybody looking for a hands free unit.

Mine is Similar - Good Value
I needed a house phone that didn't look like a cell phone. I needed a big phone with big keys. I needed a lighted keypad. I didn't need a phone I could take two miles down the road with me. I didn't need callerID.I own the older version of this phone, the KX-TG2208; the difference is cosmetic. Panasonic phones have been good for me. I wish it had a hold or mute button, so that if I use the restroom while on the phone, nobody's LISTENING, but I've been pleased with the use I've gotten out of the phone. Mine is about two years old now as of this writing. I've actually gotten the version of this that has the answering machine built in to use in the kitchen, but if you have an external answering machine, this one's just as good and is a cheaper alternative.
Hello...Good Phone for the Price
Good quality phone; no caller ID feature; easy to use; good range from base; voice enhancer makes calls clearer; for the price, this is an excellent telephone; large buttons with lighted keypad make dialing easy.
Unmemorable performance
The phone has adequate range and performance, but the "voice enhancer" has to be manually activated, and frankly makes little difference in sound quality.Additionally, the phone has no memory for numbers, other than last number dialed.I'm surprised to find a phone with so many features, and so few conveniences.

Almost perfect
This phone is almost perfect. Perfect functioning, perfect quality of hearing and sound. Good price, not expensive.
Challenging keys
This phone set works perfectly and is a good value, but the compact handsets have small buttons.Their size and the hard-to-read, yellowish labels make it challening to find the desired buttons.
Good product.. Worth the price!!
This is my second purchase of the same phone. I am having the first piece for more than 4 months now and it is working pretty fine. The reception (with my vonage connection) is very good. Also, the price is decent in amazon.com.

Keypad Issue
This phone system is great, except for the fact that the number 1 keys on every single one of our six handsets don't function without a lot of encouragement. Unfortunately, this makes the phone system a struggle to use almost every time we go to make a call. Our business is currently looking for a replacement phone system after only two years with Panasonic.
Works fine for me.
I bought the base unit and two handsets a year ago in spite of all the bad reviews because I wanted a four-line unit. I've had no trouble at all with the system. I'm up here now to add two more handsets to the system.
(...)
OK, don't bother even thinking about buying this phone or the base unit.(...) This makes Panasonic look like jerks and is apparently how they have decided to run things now.I hate to see a company I once had confidence in go to hell in a handbasket like this.Save yourself a headache and DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE ...heck, take a stand and don't buy a panasonic period. Scam.Bad Service. Phone is only a few years old.

Works beautifully
Got this phone to replace my old wireless Bell phone, and what a difference! Great range, sound quality and battery life; very simple to use and is very intuitive. The buttons light up a soft green for night-time calling, speakerphone for group chat sessions or when you're too lazy to hold the phone up to your ear, and a simple to use answering machine. What more could you want?
Excellent Phone

Where has quality gone?
Works fine, looks and feels "cheap."Very few cordless phones with speaker on handset that are wall mountable? Why?
Not Many Choices.
With most of the available two-line phones now being sold as console units that will support many cordless handsets and built in message features, I wanted a plain old, stand alone, two line phone.Like the old record turntables, most of the big manufacturers still offer one or two choices but the pickings are slim.I decided to chose Panasonic based on a mostly positive experience with their products over the years, but it is not a great phone.Good phone, yes.It can be staticy and not so clear from time to time but I always get a signal. The operation sequence for managing the incoming calls has you push one button and the phone will answer what ever line is comming in.This system does not perform well with "call waiting".I still don't have it down yet.Fortunatly most people call back if I cut them off.

GREAT phone!
For anyone having trouble with any Uniden Cordless phones with Bellsouth DSL service, we had the same issue initially. We went to Home Depot and they have a little gadget for $25 that you put on your phone line where it comes in your home, that separates the line into one going to DSL and the other going to the phone line and filters them separately. We went around and around with this issue until we bought this gadget and put it on our phone line.We have not had ONE problem since, and we were getting 20+ disconnects from DSL a day beforehand. The phones are GREAT.The problem is the Bellsouth DSL filters they supply and the way they are used, is not very effective.Save any frustrations, keep the phone, and just go buy the $25 gadget for the phone line!
One great phone!
This phone far surpasses any digital phone I've ever owned. The audio quality is exceptional, quiet and clear. The "do not disturb" feature is useful for disabling the ringer, and the answering machine is simple to use. It has lots of features, and is a great value for the money!
I want another one
It's almost impossible to bring a cordless phone home and it's almost perfect. This is that phone... cute, easy to hold, good sound, loud enough, speaker phone good, not too bulky, not too small, you can add additional phones to it.So when I'm too lazy to go upstairs to ask my mom a question, I just hit the button and call her to the other handset. You can also use it in "monitor" mode.Easy to read display, easy to program and program different rings for different people in your address book.

Sleek phone - Software Bugs
- I woke up one morning to find my two cordless units with message "Searching for Base"
Expected better from AT&T
I actually find the sound quality and range pretty good, but I think the system is designed poorly. I can't tell you how many times I have been on the phone and wanted to scroll through my caller ID to get a number for someone I was talking to. No dice, it won't do that. There are a number of issues like that.I can't program it to prefer line 2 to make calls. You may think this is a not a big deal, except I don't like to reveal the line 1 number to my clients via there caller ID. So there went my private line.
Complete piece of S***
Sound quality is poor more than about 20' away.I had to the move the base to the center of the house (rather than the kitchen where we wanted it) to get it to work at all.I had to return a unit. Now I'm stuck with it sort of working but with clicky-popy sound.Don't buy this system.

Great Phone for the money!
I have had a V-Tech VT202431 Two-Line Digital Speakerphone, 2.4 GHZ phone system for about 3 years now and no problems with reception or the battery which is surprising. Considering, I have bought similiar phones that were more expensive and they ALL have had the batteries replaced or they have had horrible reception. This one is just simply the best phone I have ever had. I bought this VTech 20-2481 2.4 GHz phone to go with my other phone. I am sold on V-Tech products. I have my parents and my brothers sold on them as well. They do make a great gifts.
Weak Signal
This system used to work fine for the last couple of years I've owned it, but for the last 6 months it seems that the interference in the 2.4 ghz band from wireless computer networks has been too much for it. It no longer offers a clear reliable signal past a few feet from the base.
Good buy - especially if you get a better battery
I bought this phone as a replacement for a Panasonic model which I have for many years with no problems. This phone has a lot of features for the cost, however, we have tha base in the second floor and the phone is used in the first floor - usually it is somewehe but in its base most of the day.

the expansion phone worked just fine for me...i did have to read my original instructions from my original phone to learn how to get the base phone to recognize the expansion phone but other than that worled like a charm!
NON WORKING Uniden DCX640 2.4 GHz Accessory Handset for DCT Phone Systems
I ordered this product for my mother's birthday because I have the base unit as my bedroom phone and she kept using it because the house cordless was slowly going. It really made me aggravated that it was never in my room and that she was always using it. I knew they made extentions, so I finally bought one. When she got it and set it all up, it didn't work! You could hear the person that was calling you or that you were calling but THEY COULDN'T HEAR YOU! I figured that it was the ear piece volume that was either low or broken. It must have been the broken, because I couldn't find the volume for the handset ear piece volume! And believe me, I DID read the intruction manual! WORST MONEY EVER SPENT! I'm not saying the product is bad...it very well could've been the place that was selling it through Amazon that sucks.
