Editorial Review

No larger than a baseball and priced with affordability in mind, the StreetPilot i3 GPS navigation system is a great fit for commuters, college students, and corporate travelers looking to experience the ease and enjoyment of satellite navigation for the first time. Don't let the small size fool you; the i3 boasts many of the same powerful functions as Garmin's premium vehicle GPS navigators. The StreetPilot i3 features a unique and convenient click-to-enter scroll wheel and a Back button that makes it easy to select a destination from the unit's menu-driven interface. It also offers voice-prompted turn-by-turn directions through a built-in speaker, and should you miss a turn, the i3 will automatically recalculate the route to put you back on course. And perhaps most conveniently, the unit moves easily from vehicle to vehicle thanks to the integrated suction cup mount, so you don't need to go through a cumbersome process each time you change cars.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars I love this thing.......
I have to admit it, when I bought the Garmin StreetPilot i3 I wasn't sure if it could do what it was supposed to do. I tested out in my home area for about 2 weeks. I took a small trip with a couple of friends we were about 60 miles from home. My friend has a brand new luxury vehicle with a GPS that she didn't know how to use. I had my StreetPilot i3 so we used it going down. I was pleasently surprised to find out that the voice response on theGarmin StreetPilot i3 was loud enough to hear over our conversation. There were three women in the car talking and we could hear the turn by turn voice instructions loud and clear, and accurate on the Garmin StreetPilot i3. On the way back home we had figured out how to use the cars built in GPS so we programed it and set out for home, we could hardly hear the turn by turn instructions on the cars system so coming back home was a little quiet (boring) because we had to be quiet so that we could hear the instructions.
5-0 out of 5 stars great GPS
This was my first GPS and had been using for last 8 months it works great . Highly recommended . Now i bought Garmin C320

4-0 out of 5 stars great unit with low cost
I wanted to buy GPS unit with low cost. This definitely falls into that category. Picked one up at Costco which as on sale this month. The unit works great, picks up satellite in most cases and calculates route fairly quickly. However, it did loose signals going to LA from SF while on Hwy 156 mountains and also on Hwy 5 which is flat. Great audio and screen resolution.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Trackball Ever!
I have always been a fan of Kensington trackball products, and I thought they had cornered the market with their previous gray and blue model.I was skeptical about replacing that one; but after four years of use, the moving parts were no longer in prestine condition.Fortunately, I had the opportunity of using the new model at work, and I was convinced that this optical K Mouse was well worth owning. Its smooth movement made computer use more enjoyable, and its contour design reduces my wrist stress factor to zero. This input device is awesome!

2-0 out of 5 stars Not broken in - Heavy ball
I bought two of these and have only used them a couple days. What I dislike most about it is the weight of the trackball. It is too massive to expect to be able to use delicate movements of one finger. It looks like a pool (table) ball that is especially painted.I have a little arthritis and at first I thought I would have to return it.It was annoying to see that the three little red balls that hold up the trackball were so stiff it made the trackball hard to turn.Turning it upside down and rolling it around helped but the stiffness was noticeable for hours. Not what I expect in a quality product. I use the ball with two fingers. The weight of the ball makes the whole thing topheavy so it is difficult to balance on my lap (where I usually use it). I did not like the size and placement of the buttons because there is no really comfortable position for my large hand.I think if Kensington kept the radial design of the buttons but made more of them and if the buttons extended further then I could use their programmabiltiy to get a good fit.
5-0 out of 5 stars Great, but DON"T WASH THE BALL...
The advice to wash the ball is wrong. I did, and the ball would barely move... friction. Untill Irubbed a little skin oil on it... then it flew! Continues to spin with the slightest toch. It's great. I laughed, I cried. I'll never go back to a regular mouse ever! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars irecommendbuying the roady
I installed the roady in my car a few days ago.my wife has a xm radio in her new vehile so i was some what familiar with the xm radio.the only reason i didn't give theroady 5 stars was that the signal to the indash radio is poor.on the front of my in dash stereo there is a aux. input which i plugged my roady into and the roady plays crystal clear, however this connected is not mentioned in the roady instruction manual.i have three vehicles and all three have an aux. input on the front of the cd player that i plug my mp3 player into.xm radio was running a special and i got the unit and the car kit for 40.00.all in all the roady is awesome.

2-0 out of 5 stars Below Average Sound Using FM Wireless Signal; Also, cancelling service is a joke
This review is more about my several month's experience with XM satellite radio and the not-so-good quality using the wireless FM frequencies through our car's radios. I live in Los Angeles.
4-0 out of 5 stars Great XM Receiver
I guess 'early adopter' from Denver is one of those that can't do a little research or bother to read the manual.Installing the antenna OUTSIDE the car - what a concept!Where did EA think the antenna would go?You do need to have a 'clear view off the sky' for best reception (the antenna has to 'see' the satellite). For example, don't expect to sit in the car in your garage/basement and listen to the radio. You CAN select direct channels (unlike mentioned by EA).If you want to go from channel 100 to 200, you just enter 200 with the number keys.It does take a second or two for the radio to switch, unlike conventional radio, but that's a minor annoyance.Take the dash out to install? - I don't want EA doing any work around my house. This receiver is VERY easy to install.Just mount it somewhere on the dash - I used velcro - run the power cord from a 12V source, run/mount the antenna, and you're done.(Come on EA, do you work for a 'terrrestial' radio station losing market share to satellite radio?)EA is correct in that the built-in FM 're-transmitter' is not that great.I use the cassette adapter and play it through my built-in cassette deck.Luckily my car has one, and the fidelity is very good.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Product
I love the Garmin Forerunner. It's one of the best little equipment I've bought for my marathon training.I'd feel blind if I didn't have it on.Makes running myself all the more interesting.I highly recommend any runner to run w/ this little gezmo.

4-0 out of 5 stars A great product that works well.
Overall this is a great product that works well and does exactly what it should. The only real drawbacks are what others have mentioned already. The serial interface is a pain, but for a few dollars you can buy a cable on ebay that will convert serial to USB, so that's not a huge deal. The other thing is the reception. It is not bad, but definitely not great. In addition when you are going at a decent pace and then make a sharp corner, your info is way off for a few seconds while the unit realizes that you are not still moving in the same direction.I'm not sure if Garmin has fixed this with the new Forerunners, but this can be a pain sometimes when you turn a corner and suddenly the unit shows that you are barely moving!
4-0 out of 5 stars Garmin 201 review
Great piece of equipment.I use it to pace my basic training unit at Fort Benning while on foot marches and during runs.I recently used it on a foot march during a pretty heavy thunderstorm.Being out in the middle of nowhere with heavy cloud cover didn't seem to faze it much.A bit slower loading in its location with the satellites, but it still worked.During this march, it was soaked in water and sweat. It also got a taste of some mud when our evac. vehicle got stuck on a dirt trail. However, I wasn't able to manipulate the "custom" pace alarm within my specified time.It only allowed me a 10-minute gap instead of a preferred 2-or-3-minute gap.The battery provides a pretty decent charge and the settings are otherwise easy to manipulate. ... If you are interested in portable digital point and shoot cameras, since Canon discontinued the Power Shot S-80, this one is one of THREE digital point and shoot cameras on the market that I know of that have a "true" WIDE ANGLE lens of 28mm! 4-0 out of 5 stars Great wide-angle lens and 16:9 format in a stylish, pocketable camera
I love this camera. I originally bought it for my wife but I've been using it more than she has. The wide-angle lens is great and I value it much more than a big zoom. It's great for close-up shots, group photos, and landscapes. The 16:9 format is great for landscapes, sunsets, etc. The display is clear and bright but a little slow.
5-0 out of 5 stars PERFECT!!!Have fun with movies and wide angle lens!
So first, this camera does show very noticeable noise in low light/ high iso.

3-0 out of 5 stars GUYS, I'm finally giving up the fight.wimpy iPod it is.
I've been waiting and waiting and waiting for a non-Apple mp3 player with a central-navigation-button that CLICKS.CLICKS!Got CLICK?CLICKING is for MEN who either own a hog (NYSE: HOG), or wish they led a life where they didn't look stupid owning a fat motorcyle (those of you in suits or with military officer hair). The popular and fairy trend of all mp3 players, both iPods and those thoughtless companies which produce devices modelled after iPods, is to use the sensual button technology, requiring you to pet, feel-up, stroke, caress, massage, soothe, tickle, and finger-blast the front panel of your music player.I cannot stand those buttons, and if you have any testosterone running thru your delicate fingers, you shouldn't either. If you feel comfortable with these new age strokey buttons, you should also have no problem proudly displaying a pink mp3 player for your homees, or a dildaically-themed device. These fingerpuff buttons on the iPod, et all, are squirrely, hard to use, they overshoot, and I feel like a white collar hand-model pansy using them.Frankly, even if those buttons worked, they still take forever to scroll thru menus. The Toshiba Gigabeat S, however, not only has the cross-bar navigation button with a strong masculine clickable button that really puts hair on your chest, but also is built on top of a Windows platform that's a dream in terms of user friendliness.Throw away the instruction book as far as navigating the device, it's that easy.THEN throw away the Toshiba Gigabeat S.Yeah, you heard me right.Send the Toshiba Gigabeat S back to where you bought it for a full refund, cuz everything else about it STINKS ON ICE.
4-0 out of 5 stars Seems great so far...
I can't really give a review yet on the battery performance or say much on all the features as I have only had this 1 day so far, but I like what I see so far... I should mention that I bought the Black 60 GB model...
4-0 out of 5 stars Best Portable Video Player
I am a man who loves both individuality and simplicity. When the iPod became the biggest portable mp3 player, I sought out to find a great alternative that could hold several gigs and not give any of my money to Apple. My friend found out about the Creative Zen, which is a great mp3 player as well. But both the Zen and the iPod were so overstuffed with useless gadgetry that I just felt overwhelmed. My gigabeat was both simple and sufficient; and that is why I found it to be the best mp3 player for its price. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Impossible Fit
I guess these were designed for a certain type of ear.I've worn all sorts of buds and sport headphones and wanted to try Sennheiser because of their reputation for quality.Well, I just can't get these to fit well.
5-0 out of 5 stars Comfortable, great fit - best I've found
I run an hour a day in all weather.I've tried over 20 brands and styles of earphones for running. These are the most comfortable, most stable fit I've found. In winter, simple ear buds with a hat to keep them in place are good, otherwise these are waterproof and the best I've found. Sound is good too. They come with a clip, convenient case and three alternatives for fit.I just ordered a second set.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not great, but the best I've found so far for running
It must be impossible to make headphones for suitable for running that 1) Stay in place without bouncing or making rude noises in your ear canal; 2) Allow some intrusion of outside sound like traffic or someone yelling and 3) Sound decent. I've been through about eight different designs and there's always some compromise among these three requirements. The OMX70's are very comfortable and don't block all exterior sound, but they just don't sound that great. The bass response is poor, even with the "bass booster" EQ turned on on the iPod. They're also not very efficient as I have to crank the volume all the way up when running.

1-0 out of 5 stars Sandisk 2GB
I just cam from Las Vegas and the sandisk has a disk error that doesn't allow for more photos after only using 40mb. I have tried to format the disk using the camera and through Windows XP. It doesn't allow it to be formatted. Bad investment!!! Would not recommend the product unless there is a way I can get a refund or an exchange.

5-0 out of 5 stars Good for Canon a95
Fantastic, take all the videos and pictures you want with the best quality.

4-0 out of 5 stars Is It Worth Buying
I have been using 3 - 128mb, 1 -256mb, and 1 -8mb card with my 2.1 megapixel camera. That got me about 648 photos which has been great for vacations, etc. With the purchase of a new 7 megapixel camera, I found that my photo storage dropped to about 202 photos which was definitely not enough. With the 2gb card, I can take a minimum of 650 photos without changing cards. With my existing cards, that totals at about 850 photos. That number goes up if I use my macro or supermacro settings (they drop the image size to the medium setting).I have had no problems with any of my compact flash cards (all of them being sandisk), all have worked consistently and without issue. ... Editorial Review

Anyone who has installed a speaker system knows the worst part is figuring out how to hide the unsightly speaker cables, especially if your speakers are located across the room from the receiver. Enter this pair of Acoustic Research stereo speakers, which resolves the dilemma by eliminating speaker wires altogether. The system's powerful transmitter broadcasts its 900 MHz signal through walls, floors, ceilings, and other obstacles, giving listeners a wide array of installation options. Looking for a pair of high-quality speakers for the upstairs bedroom? No problem. Want to enjoy your favorite tunes in the basement without running speaker wire through the floor? Easy. Thanks to the system's 300-foot range, almost any home speaker scenario is possible, including positioning the speakers outdoors so you can provide the soundtrack for your neighborhood block party. And fortunately for listeners, the wireless setup doesn't compromise the quality of the audio, as the rich signal is drift- and static-free. Read more

i was skeptical when i ordered these because of all the conflicting opinions.i have to say that they are GREAT.10 minutes out of the box i had my itunes playing all over my apartment.i live on a busy street in manhattan so i was worried about interference but the sound is very clear.i love them!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Does a decent job with one minor tweak
I've used these for 6 months now and they've performed fine given the usual constraints of walls and distance.

2-0 out of 5 stars Not very impressed at all!!!!
This camera takes decent pictures half of the time, the rest suck!!The colors are off, people look darker then they are.Maybe the flash is not strong enough.I have seen pictures from 4 different occasions, mostly indoor, and 1/3 to 1/2 of the pictures come out right. It has an impressive list of features and I really like the design. I did a lot of research before getting it and looked at all the pictures online, but I am not very satisfied with it.I have used a Kodak, Olympus and a Nikon in the past and liked the picture quality on all of them, but the pictures from this camera do not come close to the other ones.

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome camera!
I'm 45 years old and have owned two cameras in my life. So I guess that doesn't make me an expert or anything. My previous camera was a Canon Powershot film camera, purchased 17 years ago for about $150 at Target. And it still works great. People always have said, "That camera takes great pictures." I felt like a genius, but really just bought it because it was on sale. After finally converting over to Macs and loving the iPhoto software, I decided to go digital. I automatically started looking at Canons because of the years of pleasure my other Canon gave me. I stumbled across this camera at Amazon and figured a 4.5 star average rating with 199 customer reviews had to mean it was decent. And I also read great reviews of it elsewhere. So I decided to take the plunge. Funny thing...I must've got one of the last ones of these that Amazon itself was selling. Because the price on the descriptioin page when I went to put it in my cart was $329.99. But when I added it to my cart, the price changed to $214.99...and I have no idea why. I was worried that I was gonna get some camera that was returned or something, but the customer service rep at Amazon said that that wasn't the case...that mine was a brand new camera. When it came, sure enough...it was brand new. I've only used it for about 5 days, but I love everything about it. Even the 2" screen seems plently big enough for me. The pictures are fabulous. And I was able to start taking pix right out of the box. The only thing I had to consult the manual for was how to set the time and date. Other than that, at least on the AUTO setting, it's just point and shoot. And the pix upload beautifully into my Mac PowerBook's iPhoto library. The best part, in my opinion, about using this camera with a Mac? I didn't even have to load the multiple software packages that came with the Canon camera. iPhoto handles most everything, and what it doesn't I can do in Photoshop. This is a great camera, which I think has been replaced by the A630. But I don't care! I got a great deal and love the A620. The only caveat? Buy yourself a good set of rechargeable NiMH batteries and a quality charger, like I did. Using regular AA batteries may end up costing a lot in the long run. I'd recommend the Canon A620 to anyone looking for a mid-range, quality digital camera. Look around for bargain prices on the web, though. There may be places blowing these out to make room for the A630.

2-0 out of 5 stars Not very good
OK, I've spent years using a nice film camera -- solid body, good, interchangeable lenses, etc. -- so maybe I'm biased, but this camera just doesn't do it for me.

5-0 out of 5 stars Simply Excellent
The Good:
1-0 out of 5 stars TERRIBLE RELIABILITY
Even though I have used my printer (a Pixma 5000) very lightly, it jams regularly on Canon photo paper and then spills ink everywhere. Today it went into "service error 5700" and it doesn't work any more, even after rebooting it five times.
5-0 out of 5 stars Great Printer & great price
I was using an HP Photosmart 7260 which made very good photo prints. It used 6 color photo ink but I had to change one cartridge to pigment ink for text.

5-0 out of 5 stars Amazing Quality
I just upgraded my webcam (logitech 5 yrs old) to this, the difference is day and night, quality is very good; Even during the night time the quality is much better than my day time logitech (5 yrs old) webcam. I am a very satistified customers, would recommend to anyone....

4-0 out of 5 stars It's a webcam!
I think this little guy is great for what he is supposed to be: a webcam!Doesn't take fabulous pictures, doesn't have the most stunning resolution, and the sound via the microphone attachment is less than adequate. However, it does provide a decent realtime image for online chatting or web video conferencing.

From that well-established platform, this new model adds more speed (a processor that's 2.5 times faster), more memory (24 KB RAM and 480 KB of Flash ROM), an enhanced high-contrast display (eight lines by 16 characters), and more beloved Apps.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Just got it brand new!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just bought this graphing calculator. It looks and feels very stylish and comfortable. I believe this is a better choice than the ti-84 plus silver edition as that version has a little more memory and a few more applications and cost about $20 more. I don't care about those extras because i only need it for my math class!!If you need a graphing calculator this is the one to get as it it almost identical to the ti-83 plus and only cost about $10 more. Buy this and you get a better screen, more memory, and faster speed!!!!!!!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars TI-84 Plus
Much better than the TI-83 ... Great device, comes with lots of programs the TI-83 doesn't ... but now that I'm using it I would have rather forked out a few more dollars to get more computing power the TI-89 offers. For example ... The TI-84 can't compute factorials above 90 or so... Hope this helps...

3-0 out of 5 stars not very friendly for entering matrix
It has many useful features, but TI has done a poor job on the way you can enter and edit matrix. They should look into Casio models for improving their interface. ... Read more

Perfect for outdoor enthusiasts who often get separated from their groups, such as mountain bikers, serious hikers, and whitewater rafters, this pair of Motorola rechargeable two-way radios keeps you connected from up to 12 miles away (based on terrain and conditions). The wide-ranging signal also works for more pedestrian tasks, such as keeping tabs on the kids while they're playing at a friend's house or calling your pals in the lodge while you're skiing on the slopes. Each radio comes equipped with 22 channels--including eight GMRS (General Mobile Radio Service), seven FRS (Family Radio Service), and seven GMRS/FRS combo channels--giving you plenty of frequencies on which to communicate. The radios also receive a National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration channel, which delivers up-to-the-minute storm warnings--a must for mountain climbers. And thanks to the rugged housing, convenient side grips, and included holsters, you'll enjoy quick, constant access to the radios in the midst of almost any activity.Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Fun for everyone
I am very pleased with this purchase.I bought them for my [...] son.The buttons are a little hard for him to push and hold, but he is learning and I am sure he will enjoy them for years.

4-0 out of 5 stars worth it
I am a traditional rock climber and a backcountry snowboarder/mountaineer.These radios were a good choice at their $45 price.Between belays, reception is clear enough and ample.Above tree line, communication is expectedly easy, as well.Conversely, in the trees of the backcounty performance is notably lessened, yet still practical.
4-0 out of 5 stars I like these
We bought these for use on camping trips with our grandchildren and for kayaking. At this time, I have only used them once on a camping trip. They worked very well. I did not measure distances, but they worked well for our purposes.

Editorial Review

Just when you thought Garmin had cornered the market on powerful, affordable, and effective wrist-mounted GPS devices, here comes the Forerunner 205. The release of this device is a major achievement from a design and technology perspective. This isn't just marketing-speak; the Forerunner 205 is the most accurate, most reliable wrist-mounted performance and GPS tracking tool we've ever tested. Yes, it's that good. While no device this compact can do everything (yet), the 205 pushes the boundaries of what is possible from something strapped around your wrist. While the 205 doesn't offer heart rate monitoring, or connectivity with Garmin's wireless speed and cadence sensor -- for that, you'll need to step up to the Forerunner 305 --but it's a great way to get basic GPS location and performance data.Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars The 201 is better and cheaper
I had been using the Garmin 201 model for over a year and was very anxious to get the 205. Since I got it, I find that the current pace is consistently wrong on the 205. The 201 is much more accurate when it comes to telling you the pace you are currently running at. The 201 does all the same basic things as 205 just as well and is much better on the current pace for some reason. The 201 is also about $100 cheaper and I would highly reccomend buying it, it is fantastic and a great value!

5-0 out of 5 stars Garmin 205
I have had the Garmin 205 for over a month now. I have also used the 301. I like the 205 because it is smaller and more compact. I find it to be very accurate and finds the satellites faster than the 301. I walk under trees sometimes and have not lost the signal. It is easy to set up and read your stats. I have no problems with the rubber wristband. It is a good training device.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great once you get a position
This is great for training. It's really nice to able to see your current and average pace. It's also nice that it can automatically start a new lap every mile (or other interval that you specify). It sometimes takes a long time to get a position, however. ... Read more
