5-0 out of 5 stars A great MOTHER*&*&*& MOTHER BOARD
I have had this mother board for quite some time, using the raid capabilities and I have had quite a great experience with it.This is the second time that I have built a computer, and my first computer that I built gave me so much trouble that I ended up buying a Dell... but after the Dell experience, I decided to go back and retry building another computer...

I read in one of the PC magazines that reviewed the different motherboards that this one was the far and away best board on the market, so.. trust me, your computers future stability depends on which motherboard you choose.. so I chose this one..

stable as a horse. And powerful.I have a 3.0 Gig Intel chip in, and a gig of ram... but will boost the ram more when needed... the computer runs like a champ.

I also have a hugh case that I got from www.xoxide.com -the all aluminum UFO case with 15 fans) and it keeps the board and chip at a temp around 88 - 93 degrees.Makes the board happy and the chip happy.Get lots of fans and a great board and your machine will fly.

    ASUS rules.

    Have fun

5-0 out of 5 stars The very best place to buy the very best product
I am so very happy to see that Amazon has added the very best products required to build the very best computer possable, all by yourself, if you have not built one yet, you must try it is so very easy to do, these great products come with easy to follow step by step instructions. Regarding the one person that had a problem recognizing his super fast 32 MGHz P4 is that he needed to erase his BIOS by simply moving a little jumper, [(J-3) I believe], from the 1-2 position to the 2-3 position for 20 seconds, then move it back to 1-2 position. Then hold down the DELETE key while rebooting and select OPTIMIZE from the list of settings, click enter to save and save again and reboot.

It seems no matter where you get your mother board 1 out of 1000 need this done and only if your new home built computer doesn't recognize the very newest CPU that is made after the BIOS was created. This Mother Board is known by all to be the best available and the easist to set up. Did you see their neat case and power supply for a perfect fit.

5-0 out of 5 stars Benchmark (of sorts...)
For those who run SETI (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence) data units, here is a statistic that will make this MB's performance crystal clear. With a 3.2-Gig Hyperthreading CPU and 235 data units processed, my average run time per data unit (running in BACKground) is 3-hours 20-minutes. Of significance is the fact that I am often rendering video files in foreground, which is a CPU intensive task. So to say I'm happy with the performance of this MB is a serious understatement! ... 1-0 out of 5 stars MAC users, beware!
This keyboard has been buggy for me on two separate computers (both Macs) both running OSX. On both I experienced a weird glitch: If I hit the right command (apple) key and the shift button at the same time it would lock up my keyboard permanently until I un-installed and reinstalled the keyboard driver using an old, functional keyboard.

What makes this especially weird is that the keys work fine independently from one another in combination with any other keys. Likewise the left command+shift key combo works just fine. What's the big deal? Well as a professional artist, I use photoshop which includes tons of keyboard shortcuts including such common uses such as "print preview". I had to goout of my way to unlearn the reflexsive key combo.I probablylocked up my keyboard 10 times before it finally unlearned to use those keys (on the right only).

Tech support was absolutely no help. The told me they couldn't help me because I was running an OS they didn't yet support (10.3).
Fine... I'll suffer along till they catch up.

Months later when they finally updated their driver to match Mac's current OS, it did nothing to remedy the problem.
I call tech support again and they tell me it's my computers' fault- both of them.
What a strange coincidence that their keyboard supposedly works on ever other mac in the world accept the last two I've owned...

Fast forward a few more months and I have an unrelated computer glitch which requires me to reinstall my system folder (unfortunately eliminating the keyboard driver as well) I go to their site to download the latest driver and now Macs are no longer supported for this keyboard! No driver, whatsoever.

I call support and I get an equallyconfused and rude gentlemen who suggests (no lie) that I try unplugging the keyboard and typing on it for thirty seconds. No idea how he thinks this will fix the lack of software but I play along, if only for the sake of a memorable anecdote.

Surprise, surprise- it still doesn't work when I plug it back in. After 10 minutes of haggling with the guy trying to explain the simple concept of needing mac-specific software for his computer product he tells me he will send me another, newer, elite keyboard. After giving all my information I try and ask for a little reassurance: "Will this one be supported for macs"?

    Long pause...

He's "pretty sure", but he's--(get this) TURNED OFF HIS COMPUTER FOR THE DAY, SO HE CAN"T LOOK IT UP FOR ME. (?!) Mind you this was at 4:30pm in Logitech's Eastern time zone.

Great, thanks for your help. If you need me, I'll be out on my front steps holding my breath for this new, possibly-functional, keyboard to arrive.

Perhaps this keyboard works fine for PC users, but if you're a Mac person, RUN, do not walk away from these guys. Although I can't imagine their tech support is any better for PC folks.

So avoid this keyboard and moreso, this company. Unless, of course, you're a masochist for laughable customer service, in which case I can't recommend them highly enough.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Feel and Design
Pros: A large keyboard, but well worth it if you have the space.Very ergonomic, lots of extras, easy and utterly silent keystroke. Space bar is particularly well designed, as it slopes down to the edge of the keyboard, allowing your thumb to sit lower while still being on the buttom.Great looks as well.Attractive finish, and the black keys with white text are easier to read than other white ones. The keyboard is a lot thinner than my old one, and seems easier on the wrists when that is combined w/ the piece that you can attach to the front (which looks good too, usually the add-on wrist supports look stupid).

Cons:Bigger footprint than typical keybaords.Had to log onto logitech to get a new software update that fixed a bug w/ the stuff they gave me on the CD.(And the update software they gave me didn't catch this, oddly.)

5-0 out of 5 stars Well constructed, easy to use.
I have to say the comparison between a Dell keyboard and this Logitech Elite is a sad comparison indeed. I've used Dell keyboards...I hate them, they always felt cheap and flimsy. The last one I had, well let's say it wasn't fun.

This keyboard is great, though it doesn't have support for applications like Firefox right off the bat, if you have some computer knowledge you can tell it to open Firefox as a Program, though it gets overly complex.

Had the keyboard not been so easy to work with, and so easy to type with, it'd be four stars due to the lack of third party program support. Logitechs software is rather crappy, in all honesty, but at least it offers options to manually extend support via the programs functionality.

I have heard keys stick later in its use, I've yet to have any sticky keys, but then again I keep my keyboard very clean, I hope that doesn't happen, but keep it in mind, as it happens to all keyboards eventually, some sooner than others.

I love the volume dial, it's easy, quick, and much more precise than it's Microsoft counterpart, which uses a plus and minus Button opposed to this more precise dial. The email, messenger, and song scrolling buttons are amazingly useful.

The default On setting for F-Lock, (or off) is annoying as hell, I have to turn the green light *on* to use the normal F# keys, and the light grows a tad annoying.

I have not seen any spyware, I keep my computer highly protected with the best scoring (Benchmarks, and not by whored out 'review' sites) Anti-Adware, Firewall, and Anti-Virus I could find, perhaps this fabled spyware was removed. I never saw anything like it in my Processes, which I watch obsessively, and nothing ever came out in scans relating to Logitech.

I highly recommend this to keyboard enthusiasts who love having a keyboard which has many functions and, ironically, tons of functionality. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars AWESOME
I had purchased a mini vbluetooth mouse from Iogear. And it kept loosing my signal or not charging. So I returned it and got this mouse.AWESOME. I have had no problems. And since my laptop came blue tooth enabled, I don't need to use the hub, except for to charge the mouse, so i conencted the hub to my other computer so that my laptop and "server" could communicate a little easier.Works Great!Never have any problems with it. EXCEPT.If you don't use the hub to connect your mouse, you cannot use the "switch windows" button on the mouse. Or the quick scrolling buttons, but the side forward and back buttons do work. And they even work in window XP windows, not just on the internet.Even in my Microsoft Money account!

4-0 out of 5 stars Very Good, but Not Excellent Bluetooth Mouse
Pros: Comfortable, precise, and lots of buttons

Cons: Will not fully work without the hub

    Full user opinion
I had no problem conecting to my Dell Inspiron 6000 with built in Bluetooth.

When I installed with the hub connected evertything worked properly. After disconecting the hub you loose some features.

One of the buttons will not work without the hub. You also loose the Mouse properties screen.

It would be nice if everything worked without the hub, but it still works with no wires attached.

I wanted to have a mouse to utilize my bluetooth card, and this does the job.

4-0 out of 5 stars Works great with 20" iMac G5!
I bought this mouse because I needed a wireless multi-button bluetooth mouse. This mouse works great right out of the box with my Mac.I didn't need to install any software! I love the form factor. The mouse seems to be made specifically for my hand and that gives it a wonderful feel.
The only reason I gave it a 4 out of 5 is because the mouse is a little heavy and will take some getting use too.Other than that the mouse works as advertised. ... Read more

I received this drive from Circuit City and there was no sales receipt with the order. I notified Circuit City that I would like a sales receipt in case I needed warranty service. Needless to say I never received it.

    5-0 out of 5 stars Lite-On Is Write-On!!
After my Yamaha EZ3200 bit the dust after a year (run don't walk away from any Yamaha cd-writer....they no longer manufactur cd-writers and will not provideany support for them), I needed a quick replacement.Enter this Lite-On CD-RW.Not only is the cost terrific, but it is was a breeze to install.I've been usingthis writer andNero software for about 2 months now. I've just made it through my first 50-pack of cd-rs and have not burned one coaster yet! I would recommend this writer to anyone looking for a effective and inexpensive replacement for their old or burned out cd-writer.

1-0 out of 5 stars Must have got a lemon
Bought this unit on newegg.com for a much better price. I had an easy install replacing my old cdrom/dvd drive. I was very pleased for two weeks. I only used the thing about four times. About two weeks after installtion I tried to open the tray and it didn't open. I also have a zip drive on the secondary IDE which was also dead. I took the drive out and put my old cd drive in and everything worked again. I emailed liteon support. Ten days later they responded. They gave all the right steps to reinstall, but this unit is dead. I wouldn't buy this one again. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Good Reader bad Writer
According to the review on www.tomshardware.com this DVDRW can read old and scratched DVDs and this is absolutely TRUE. But writing skills is amazingly poor. I already exchanged one because smoke was coming out from it. New one damaging during the recording process 40% of DVDs. Nero some times showing funny message. "Focus Tracking Error ...". Validation of recorded disks failing in 99%. It doesn't matter DVD is brand name or generic.

5-0 out of 5 stars Linux compatible and excellent!
I'm using this drive with Linux (so none of the software issues the other reviews talk about apply anyway) and am very happy with it.cdrecord worked just like with my old burner, and for dvd's growisofs worked without any configuration whatsoever on my part! DVD-RAMs even burn fine even though the man page for growisofs doesn't mention DVD-RAM!

(I'm using kernel 2.4.22 on x86, you may need to load some modules with modconf for your configuration).

1-0 out of 5 stars Already 'dead'

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Sound Card, Poor Music File Format
This sound card puts out great sound, much better than Windows Media Player or any other Player I've tried. It has many Audio adjustments so you can have your own sound studio.

The Black Box that comes with it seems like overkill and I think most people do not even need it. This obviously adds to the cost.

This could probably be rated 5 stars except for the Music File Format.I't's poor compared to the Windows Media Player

5-0 out of 5 stars GREAT SOUND!!!
If your looking for a nice 5.1 surroung sound system for a pc that's not too expensive get this one.SOUNDS FANTASTIC, I have a $3000 home theater system in my living room and this comes VERY close, though maybe not in total volume it still has good surround sound effects. I can turn up the volume full blast without any distortion.Logitech has lesser models out therebut don't settle for less! This is the one! GET IT!

5-0 out of 5 stars A MUST HAVE
After reading up on a few different models, I've decided to purchase this one.Wow!What a great decision, this system is great, truly unbelievable.I pluged it right into my notebook and it handled my mp3's and the subwoofer was able to handle the bass very well.I was able to plug it into my t.v. as well, (this sytem costed 2 1/2 more than my tv) and finally I am able to hear what the people are saying without having to raise the volume all the way.If I ever needed another set of speakers I wouldn't hesitate to purchase these again, nor would I hesitate to recommend these to someone. If your unsure of the quality and sound, don't be, I think you would be very suprised.Thank you all for the reviews to help me make a great purchase.

5-0 out of 5 stars !!!!!THIS SET WILL BLOW YOU AWAY!!!!!
AMAZING, there is no other word that i can think for this set. If I could i would give this speaker set a 10 star out of 5. I am a professional sound designer and i wanted good performance on my PC, I never expected this. I never expected the amazing quality that this speaker set has. Digital and THX. Logitech has done a great job with this set. BUY IT, if not this one only get the next step up, Z5500, but there isnt that much differance.
This set is worth twice its retail value, dont believe me, read every other review on here and see if you can find one that dosnt give it a 5 star rating, go on i dare you. ... Read more

Sharp's ASV panel offers exceptionally wide horizontal and vertical viewing angles, so you can watch TV from anywhere in the room.
The Advanced Super View screen offers exceptionally wide (170- by 170-degree) viewing angles and an extraordinary contrast ratio of 800:1 for super-black blacks. Its high brightness (430 cd/m2) ensures wide dynamic range for vivid colors, great depth, and realism. You can place it anywhere--near windows, doors, or other light sources--and its picture will remain vivid. And, with its 60,000-hour lamp life, the backlight life is long enough to give you viewing pleasure for manyyears. A built-in 181-channel tuner lets you plug your cable TV right into the LC-37HV4U and start watching.

AQUOS TVs strive for a high level of energy efficiency.
AQUOS LCD TVs are Energy Star compliant devices, and consume up to 60% less power than CRT systems and about half as much power as comparable plasma TVs.

Being too thin to house its many connections (two high-definition component-video inputs, four each S-video and composite-video, and an XGA-resolution PC input), the LC-37HV4U comes with a stand-alone AVC System--a set-top box that houses all terminals, minimizes clutter, and preserves the panel's austere look. (For greater placement flexibility, Sharp makes an optional 30-foot extension cable for this device.)

1-0 out of 5 stars CAUTION!!!
Sorry, I only used the 1 star rating to get attention - I am
sure it is a great TV. I actually wanted to buy one and made the mistake to look at the cheap ones offered through marketplace.
PLEASE, don't make my mistake. The TV's offered for under 1,000$
are scams....you won't be able to buy them through amazon.com
directly, but will be asked to contact the seller, who then
will ask you to pay via 'Western Union" or using "Square Trade
amazon" or some escrow service....the web pages will look very
    convincing but it's all fake!
You will never get a TV!!!, but you will be out of your money.

5-0 out of 5 stars Use 2 Cable Boxes HD AND NTSC for best results
I am responding to the question from James Tepper
    Sharp LC-37HV4U, April 4, 2004
Reviewer:James Tepper (Boonton Township, NJ United States)

Those of you that have purchased a HDTV, regardless of whether a Plasma or a LCD should strongly consider using 2 cable boxes. The first, a regular definition cable box for low def signals (also known as NTSC - broadcast for 95% of all channels) and another HDTV box for the HDTV signals (A.K.A. ATSC).

The difference is very very significant. The problem with viewing a regular definition signal through a HDTV cable box is that the HDTV cable box "up converts" the regular TV signal to a high definition signal. This up covert is being done by a very cheap $200 box, not a high end video processor (AKA "scaler" or Faroudja, etc. which costs at least $5,000).

Low definition signals look very good on your HDTV set through a standard defination box (AKA NTSC).High Def looks extraordinary.

I rented a second box through Cablevision for an extra $5 per month. It's well worth it.The Sony box is the best for low definition. For high def, they only offer the Scientific Atlanta 7200HD which works fine.

    5-0 out of 5 stars PC Mag's 5-star "editor's choice"
PC Mag ranked this 37" LCD TV an "editor's choice."Their profesional reviewers liked the excellent image quality, the solid build, the styling, the generous number of inputs, and the ease of use. They also gave it 5 stars.

I've spent way too many hours staring at this screen at my local Best Buy, where it's selling for $1000 more than here on Amazon. The 37" size just looks so much BIGGER than my 30" LCD at home. When you watch sports on ESPN, you can see not only the sweat beads, but the reflections in the beads. The 37" size is best when you are 8-10 feet away from the screen.I highly recommend getting an HDI-capable DVD player, too, if you watch a lot of DVDs.(Recommended: Denon DVD-1910 for $250.)The Denon can significantly improve DVD image quality when you use the all-digital DVI connection between the the DVD player and the screen.

Sharp's Aquos line represents the best in LCD TV technology and the company's coming out with better panels as well as larger panels -- a 63" just came out in Japan.Their jaw-dropping image quality and styling make you the envy of your block (unless you live on Sunset Blvd. or next to Bill Gates). ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Immediate Bad POT
Feels great but I too have been burned with a bad POT. If this was a car it would be recalled immediately ! Too bad they did not go to extreme measures to ensure a quality product. Looks feels great. Currently just a nice looking conversation piece.

Still waiting on my replacement POT.........

1-0 out of 5 stars Works Great for a few months....then croaks!!!
This is truly an impressive joystick/throttle combination. I was overjoyed when I got this as a gift. It worked great for the first few months of use. Unfortunately, the system fell into disrepair, mainly because of poor quality pots. This is a common problem with these units. After spending an entire day taking apart the throttle and cleaning the pots with jewelers glases, reinstalling the firmware and finally giving up, I am looking for a replacement. It REALLY BUGS ME to see what was spent on this item and see how shabbily it was constructed. LET THE BUYER BEWARE !!!

1-0 out of 5 stars Hardware problems ruin Hotas Cougar.
I always loved Thrustmaster products but the Hotas Cougar is a dud. Far too many of the units have hardware problems. Mine has a problem that every few minutes causes the computer to think that it is not attached to the computer. It loses calibration when it does this. After a lot of effort I got the company to accept a return on it, but they sent it back saying it was fine. I have bought the CH products controllers and have had absolutely no problems. They are the way to go. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Get it!
I ordered the Logitech Wingman Formula Force GP w/ foot pedals on a late Sunday afternoon, using the super saver free shipping. I believe Amazon reports that the free shipping takes 7 - 9 days to be delivered? Tuesday afternoon at 4pm, almost exactly 48 hours later, the wheel was at my house! It arrived in a brand new, excellent, unscathed condition.

I took the wheel out and mounted it to the lip of my computer desk using the two screw down plastic clamps provided underneath the wheel. I thought the clamps looked flimsy, and would probably break easily! However, I have been playing for days now and the wheel is completely stable and does not move nor suffer from "plastic flex"! Just make sure you do _not_ overtighten them when you screw them down! Just get them secure, they WILL hold if you do it properly. I find the wheel to be the perfect size for my desk, I can keep it attached and use my keyboard and mouse without any problems at all.

Next, I positioned the foot pedals on the floor. My desk has a bottom board, and I put the foot pedals up against it so they won't slide. They have a jack similar to a telephone, and it plugs directly into the righthand side of the wheel. The A/C adapter plugs in next to the phone-jack type port for the pedals, and is very lightweight!

Then, I started up my computer and installed the software. You put the disk in, and it comes up with a menu that lets you install it. If you already have another Logitech device, such as a Wingman joystick, then you don't need to install the software! It uses the same stuff! Once the software is installed, you simply plug the USB connector into your computer, and POOF! The system will immediately make any changes it has to, and you can start using your wheel! I would strongly suggest a calibration before use.

The wheel and pedals are very durable, and work flawlessly. The paddle shifters are easy to reach and use! I find the best game to use this wheel with is Need for Speed: Underground. They make a great combo.

It takes a slight breaking in period to get used to using a wheel. While it makes the game very realistic, remember that it is still up to the game programmers to provide good game physics for using it! I've also played with a Microsoft Force Feedback wheel at a friend's house, and I like this Logitech a lot better!

1-0 out of 5 stars Microsoft Wheel is better
This wheel is perfectly centered, until you plug in the usb. Then it goes off center by almost 45 degrees. It has a grinding feel like it needs to be oiled. It also sqeaks when turning. Driving with the wheel off center makes it harder to reach the buutons. Go Microsoft.

3-0 out of 5 stars Little too jerky
Overall a good buy for the money. Wheel is very jerky and too sensitive in Nascar racing and Indy Car racing. Turning on Steering assist in Nascar racing smooths things out but some online leagues don't allow this. Pedals are OK. Spaced very well. Brake pedal feels very sensitive. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Flawed, but probably closest to perfect out there
The Logitech Cordless Wingman rumblepad is quite the gamepad. And, I love it.It's not perfect, but it is very close.
Sure, the pad is heavy, and some people might find it a bit large, but that doesn't get in the way.The programming software i very simple, well thought out and intuitive. You can tell the designers actually used it.The pad has plenty of buttons, all of the programmable.I get heavy MAME use out of it, and it works wonderfully. With a little thought and cleverness, you can play dual stick games as well as paddle games (thanks to the throttle slider). It's not as good as one of those custom jostick setups, but it gets the job done.
The only other drawback is that it requires four AA batteries. That means replacing 4 AA batteries, which could get expensive.I've had mine for a couple months and have not had to replace them, though.Which speaks well of the auto-shutoff design. It's not perfect, but I can really appreciate the enginerring forethought put into this product.

4-0 out of 5 stars I love my wingman!
I love this thing. It plays better than any corded pad I own.

    Pros:
Dual analog, rumble capabilities, and a digital pad.
Triggers. Four of them. Excellent range and it's as responsive as a corded pad.

    Cons:
Batteries. You need four of them (AA) I work around that by using rechargebles.

    It's heavy.

Before trashing this thing due to compatability problems, go to logitec's website and get the newer drivers. They fixed any problems I had with my wingman.

2-0 out of 5 stars Neat concept. Poor Execution.
The Logitech Cordless Rumblepad is a neat concept, but it sadly, hardly delivers.

The buttons and sticks do have a nice feel to them, and are quite responsive, but the problem lies in the design itself.

First and foremost, would be the shape and weight. Being cordless, it requires quite a number of AA batteries. No one wants to play video games using an ungainly controller that weighs sixty-four pounds.

As another reviewer noted, this pad is notorious for calibration problems. Soon after I recieved it, my left analog stick failed. Normally I wouldn't care, as I don't use them, but now it's always sending X+/- to the PC, causing anything I play to go crazy.

This is also a dual mode controller, with the D-Pad configured to also act as a hat control. Normally this wouldn't pose a problem, unless you're intending to play MAME or other emulator ROMs on this controller. It's not an 8-way Directional pad. You'll find that your common "Forward, Down, Down-Forward, Button" movements in fighting games are quite hard to execute.

All in all, I'd say pass this one up, even if the size and weight issues aren't... uh. issues.. for ya. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Noblesse...
This case is manufactured/distributed by Nikao and Ahanix, and goes by the brand name "Noblesse". Nikao offers this color while Ahanix has a white and charcoal version. Do yourself a favor, do a search for Nikao Noblesse or Ahanix Noblesse on the web and look around for the best price.

All in all this case is excellent, great construction, sturdy, 4 80mm blowholes (2 front, 2 back) airflow is decent. A bit heavy if your going to lug this thing around. The blue mirror finish on the front looks very nice. It has a lot of drive bays and includes a "stealthed" 5 1/4" bay at the very bottom.

All in all, a very cool looking case.

Have fun! =) ... Read more
