Not a good thing to buy
6 screen protectors, 6 different sizes... 4-in-1 style will lose color and look old in two weeks, one thing useful is the carrying case, however it will make your PDA look too big.

Worst product I ever bought
This is one of the cheesiest companies out there.Stay away from them and their products.

Poor Quality
I was excited when I found this starter kit here and it seemed that it provided all solutions. But the quality of the leather case is bad, the screen protectors are ok, and the quality of the 4 in 1 stylus is very poor. The cap of the stylus would pop out every time you switched off. I made the mistake of ordering these for my 72 and they fit in the hole, but stick out an extra 1/4" or more. the correct number for the 71 (probably 72 as well) is B000096JZO

Reliable Connection
Ever since Palm began releasing modem products for their PDAs, having one as a backup connectivity device has been a priority for me.

Sure you can do a litle web surfing but that is not its' true calling or intention.Checking your eMail is what this modem is all about and where it shines like the true star it is.Setup is easy and the supplied software is not the best but will get you where you want to go.

Battery life is great and that makes it always a good device to carry along on any business trip.

A not so good Internet connection
Well, it is very useful if you use it to download emails or send them while on the road, but.. If you want to surf the web for a long time... I do not reccomend it, it disconnects after a determinate amount of time. I prefer a wireless option, that is, using your cell phone as an wireless modem, this way it doesn't matter how much time you spend online...

PalmModem Connectivity Kit in question.
To use the Palm Modem you have to belong or sign up for unlimited service to: AT&T, Compuserve, Earthlink, PSINet or if networked at work, Unix Verio Windows NT RAS server.

When connecting to the Avantgo.com, the modem will sync to the site for just download enough informtion for the e-mails or web site. It appears in order to go to another web clipping, the modem has to re-connect, which seems like a hassle.

However, for limited internet usage, and could also be used for stock market symbols, the modem will connect to the web clipping and then shut off.

The modem has limited uses and is only a land line with no wireless use. The modem also uses 2 tripple A batteries, without recharable option. ... Read more

Only for smart people
I've been using this pen for a half-year.It's unlike other pens in that you have to hold the pen horizontally for it to correctly select the pencil, stylus or red/black ink pen you wish to use.It also a comfortable pen to hold while working with the pocket pc....much better than the toothpick stylus that came with my pocket pc.I'm actually here online to purchase one for a friend.

Once you realize you have to be smarter than the pen, you'll enjoy this 4 in 1 Stylus.

Bad Buy
I thought I would use this pen as a replacement for my Belkin 4 in 1, Bad Bad idea. The black started peeling off within a week of having this stupid pen. Black and Red ink is no good (fade away). Stay away from this pen.

Not so bad once you figure out the trick to using this pen
Another reviewer indicated that you have to hold this
pen horizonatally to get reliable device changes.This
seems to be the case.My stylus/pen did not have any
mark on the end that you click so I put one on with
a permanent marker.I found that as long as this mark
is "up" with the pen horizontal, I get reliable pen
changes.Perhaps this stylus/pen relies on gravity to
work.While quirky, this is not an issue once you
figure out the trick.I've not had this long enough

Mac OS X 10.2+ driver found!

Amazing! Works with eTrex GPS, Street Atlas 6 and Mac OS X
Switching over to Mac OS X (10.2) from OS 9 was fearful because I thought there was no GPS supported mapping application in OS X.

Well, to my complete surprise, with the eTrex GPS connected to the iConcepts USB-Serial adapter, Street Atlas 6.0 running in Classic mode found the GPS and is more stable than in OS 9.2.2!
I am not sure which driver is being used - the native OS X driver or the OS 9 Extension - I am guessing it is the OS X (10.2) native driver since I have extensions turned off for Classic.

The adapter is smaller in profile than others and is much cheaper - so buy a couple.

Works fine in Mac OS X 10.2.x
Once you get the latest driver from the sakar web site (go to the support section), you'll be fine for mac os x 10.2.x.

I totally agree with mrs. caiaccio's assessment of the product, it does indeed smell wonderfully of citrus fruits!

A good case
I bought this blue carrying case shortly after I got my Palm Zire for my birthday. It's a nice color and the Zire fits in the case well. (It's not too tight, as someone else said.) The color is rather nice too. There was a little smell at first, but it wasn't that bad. Unfortunately I lost my case and I wish there had been a way to connect the case and handheld together to prevent losing the case. I will probably buy a new one or a similar red one I saw somewhere else. I would recommend this case to others.

A calculated rip-off
Another reviewer pointed out the fact that this bundles some items for the original Zire and others for the Zire 71, so unless you own both models, half the included stylii and screen protectors are useless to you.The enclosed case does have a belt loop, but it doesn't clip on (you have to thread your belt through it).And the case itself is made of amazingly flimsy translucent plastic - I figure it will last a few weeks at most.I'm now wary of buying any other Palm-branded accessories.

Worth it for the case, but needs more
The case, slightly bigger and easier to deal with than the one that comes with the Palm Zire 71.The extra styli thrown in make it worthwhile.The only complaint here is that there are only two screen protectors.A few more included would make this a purchase worth making.

Save your money
I thought genuine Palm accessories would be good.Now I wonder if Palm is just trying to get our money any way they can.

First, the package is misleading.It says "4 Premimum Screen Protectors."What they neglect to tell you is that you get 2 for the Zire and 2 for the Zire 71.Kudos to Amazon.com for putting things straight in their description.I should have shopped here first.

The case is pretty good, but it covers up the headphone port for the Zire 71.Not good if you want to go jogging with MP3s.The only improvements over the original Zire 71 case is that it doesn't turn on the organizer on insertion and it has a handy belt loop if you want to look super-geeky.

The screen protectors are highly-adhesive garbage.Try the ones made by Belkin.They have less adhesive.One of mine looked like someone took sandpaper to a small portion of it.It was so bad that I didn't even try to apply it for fear of getting sticky stuff on my screen for life.Why can't they make a static-cling screen protector?

NOT for Zire 71
I bought the Zire 71 through Amazon and wanted to get protection for the screen. This page popped up and I bought the protectors but they are too small for the Zire 71 screen. Also the quality is not great, leaves marks and bubbles. I had to use to protectors and cut them up but it's not worth the purchase.

Charger doesn't fit the Zire 31, either
The USB sync cable does fit my Zire 31, and luckily that's the primary reason I bought this kit. The charging cable definitely doesn't fit the little hole on the Zire 31, though. So at this point (based on the earlier reviews) I'm wondering which, if any, of the Zire models this kit was intended for -- just the basic Zire 21 (or whatever the model number for the B&W version is)?

Does not work with Tungsten E
The Tungsten E is the black sheep of the Tungsten Palm product line.It charges and sychronizes likes the Zire product line.However, this product will not work for the Tungsten E!I have had to purchase other Zire products for my palm, but this one is not compatible.The charger connection end is too big for the Tungsten E.I recently bought and brought this product on vacation only to find out after my palm was out of charge that it did not fit.

Small, light, and compact, the Palm Zire handheld is a great PDA for anyone looking for a basic electronic personal information manager to help organize their tasks, meetings, and contacts. Organization in your Palm

We were up and running within 20 minutes of opening the package. As part of our setup, we synced the Zire with Microsoft Outlook. Initially, we had to try twice before we could successfully sync our data, but have been able to sync data flawlessly ever since. All of our contacts and scheduled meetings transferred effortlessly, and we quickly came to depend on the Zire to tell us where and when we had to be at a given time. However, with only a 2 MB storage capability, this handheld won't hold a huge about of data.

The Zire is attractively colored with a white front and a silvery gray back, but Palm really cut corners with the screen cover. The cover is made of a flexible plastic that flaps around when it is supposed to be centered on the screen, and is awkward to keep out of the way when you want to access the screen. It's so annoying we recommend not using it at all. Fortunately, the screen cover comes separate from the Zire itself so this is easy to do.

While not a powerful handheld, the Zire is worth considering if you're looking for a way to keep your tasks, contacts, and meetings organized. It performs those tasks wonderfully, and is priced affordably. --Patricia Atherly

Unreliable
I need a palm to have my calander and address book on hand at all times. This model proved to be extremely inefficient. The lack of backlighting meant that often I could not see what was on the screen and it's memory would empty from one moment to the next. I would be stuck with no calander or address book. I contacted the company by email and the only advice they had was to keep the Palm seperate from my cell phone. This I did, to no avail, the Palm continues to discharge it's memory.
I have now discharged the Palm into the rubbish bin and will not purchase another!

Wonderful Item
I don't know what people expect when they buy this item, but for me, it was to keep addresses, phone numbers and download my outlook calendar.If that is all you expect, then this is perfect.For those people who live and die by the palm gadgets, then get yourself one of those expensive palms. Zire is cheap and convenient enough to take it anywhere you want and you don't get upset when you bang it around a bit.I had it for about a year and zero complaints.Also, the battery lasts extremely long for my purpose.So, if you are a simple guy like me, then this is perfect for you.If you are expecting a small computer, then you need to spend some money.Hope this helps.

Decent product - horrible support!
I bought this Palm as a cheap contact manager - that's what I got - I knew what I was getting into. However, a word regarding Palm support...

After a couple months - the screen went completely black and I needed to call tech support. What a nightmare. It's obvious to anyone that Palm has exported its help desk overseas (India most likely). The five different support engineers I talked to ALL had very thick accents, could not understand simple English sentences, could not make logical decisions (they follow a very formal script) and made the whole experience VERY frustrating, time consuming and expensive (they don't have a toll-free number anymore). The point is simple - sooner or later you're probably going to call tech support for help - and in my opinion, the "help" desk at Palm is horrible!
