5-0 out of 5 stars Great bang for your buck.
The Panasonic SC-DM3 Home Theater System is the best bang for your buck. The only negative drawback to this system is that it is not to be used as a digital amplifier for external systems - however it will do a single L/R analogue input no problem. So if you want to hook your television, hi-fi or games console, into this unit then it will have to be done via an analogue line. This means if you are looking for an amplifier for several inputs from other sound sources then THIS IS NOT FOR YOU and at the price it is clear that the item is intended for limited purposes and is not a full blown digital IN/OUT sound system (be prepared to pay the $600 + mark for these types of systems that are only for advanced system setups). Although no true digital input is achievable you can always choose a digital OUT to analogue IN cable as an addition. However when all said and done I have my PS2 and TV hooked up to this box using analogue connections and it is fine and works but really the heart of this package is in the DVD player's quality and the SOUND.

The item has 3 front speakers, 2 surround and a woofer. The sound is sublime for the price. The picture quality is well above average and the functionality is pretty outstanding. The system is simple to setup (took me 20 minutes out of the box) and can play nearly every DVD disc format (including MP3, CD-R, CD-RW) and has several sound formats to choose from (DTS, Dolby Digital, Dolby Pro Logic, Dolby Surround and Stereo). Also each sound format has several variations for room shapes and sizes. You can also adjust the levels of each speaker individually. The unit then gives you multiple options for screen sizes, playback types, picture quality etc. In short there is nothing this player is missing except for maybe some advanced features like zooming in on frames. If you are looking for an out-of-box home DVD theatre system then this is the package to get. The tower also looks funky and the ejection system is beautiful. I would encourage those who are looking for a good DVD system and who do not want to spend unreal sums of money to give this one a try. It is far from disappointing.

Pros:
1) Great Sound and a very nice speaker system to boot.
2) Multiple sound formats and disc types can be played back on the unit.
3) The DVD player has multiple options to choose from.
4) The quality of the DVD image beats the XBOX or PS2 any day.

Cons:
1)Load up times take a few seconds.
2)No true digital in/out.

3-0 out of 5 stars Superb sound and build quality but has no connectivity!
Overall I was and still am very impressed with the sound and build quality of the system. However the main negative point that irritates me is the fact the the system has hardly any connectivity, especially that there is no digital input, which as the AUXILLARLY curcuit 'only' supports Dolby Pro-Logic, unables me to watch SKY MOVIES and use my XBOX etc in Dolby 5.1 as intended, and as I have paid over £350 for the device is disappointing.

2-0 out of 5 stars Lack of inputs make it all but useless
Although the unit does everything it advertises, it leaves out one critical piece of functionality that I literally could not believe when I opened the box. There are no inputs whatsoever. No S-Video, Composite, or even Audio.I thought I was getting a combination DVD player and receiver with speakers, but there is nothing ressembling a receiver here.

Unless you plan on using your surround sound system *exclusively* for movies or audio CDs, stay away from this otherwise seemingly amazing unit.It does have a single set of outputs (S-Video/Composite/Stereo), but that hardly seems like the important part here.Panasonic missed the mark.

I wish there were other similar vertical units, as I will be saddened to return this, but without inputs... it's very, very limited. ... Read more

Panasonic TC-22LT1 22" LCD Flat-Panel TV
by Panasonic
Average Customer Review: 5.0 out of 5 stars
Electronics
list price: $3,499.99
US | Canada | United Kingdom | Germany | France

Editorial Review

The TC-22LT1 offers a flat, 22-inch LCD screen in a widescreen (16:9) dimension that's ideal for viewing DVDs in their native aspect ratios. This is an EDTV monitor, which means its image quality is a step closer to high-definition or HDTV than that of standard TVs. When used with a progressive-scan DVD player (or 480p-output DTV set-top box) you'll get seamless, razor-sharp images from favorite movies and concert videos. Panasonic's Progressive Cinema Scan (3:2 pulldown) even corrects for distortion resulting from 30 frames-per-second DVD encoding of 24 fps movies.

Resolution
The unit's 854 x 480-pixel resolution is enhanced by a 3D Y/C digital comb filter (which improves resolution by removing blurred edges between colors and reducing dot crawl), a high (400:1) contrast ratio, high peak brightness of 400 candles/square meter, and wide (120-degrees horizontal x 100-degrees vertical) viewing angles.

Picture Technology
Active Light Control circuitry automatically detects the brightness levels of the input signal and adjusts the backlight accordingly, enhancing brightness levels for both light and dark scenes. The result is an expanded dynamic range from black to white peak, with crisp, natural pictures that assure dynamic viewing. Active System Control works in tandem with active light control to adjust the video signal according to the image contrast, adding greater brightness to bright scenes and more depth to darker ones. Super DSC (Dynamic Sharpness Control) analyzes each image and minimizes noise in areas of low detail (such as a cloudless sky), while enhancing areas that have greater detail.

Connections
You get two high-resolution component-video inputs (D2/YPBPR conversion cable supplied), two S-video inputs, and two composite-video input with stereo RCA analog audio jacks. A stereo headphone jack fosters private listening, and the monitor also offers internal stereo speakers with reflex bass ports and 9 watts per channel (at 10 percent THD). The monitor includes a standard, 181-channel NTSC tuner.

5-0 out of 5 stars A revolutionary type of TV
I am a reviewer that is normally in the 2,000-2,500 range of Amazon reviewers. This review is anonymous purely from the privacy point of view.

What I like about this TV is it seems to work. The large number of inputs is extremely useful, two S-video and two component video, I think there is the traditional 75 ohm cable connection as well.Switching the input also switches the audio output. So if you are like me and run the sound system using a separate amplifier and speakers this simplifies life enormously for wiring, the number of inputs required on the amplifier and for choosing the sound source on the amplifier.

Picture quality is reasonable.I used to use a Sony 20 inch Wega which has the best picture quality I could find. The LCD picture quality is comparable and certainly watchable.

For two people watching it had some very interesting side effects.Because it was so slim we were able to throw out the old TV table.Move the TV back closer to the wall.Move the sofa a bit closer and reclaim enough room behind to put in another book case.It doesn't seem to dominate the room as the old television did.

The 16:9 aspect ratio is very nice when you have 16:9 material available.DVDs seem to come in native 16:9 and wide screen stripe across the middle to show on a normal TV.This TV set allows you to resize the picture within some limitations. There are more options for resizing on the s-video connection.

Although this machine supports 480p subjectively the picture was not much different from a DVD source.

Wish list, at this price and with this much flexibility it would be nice to play my Zone 2 PAL DVDs back in PAL.

Note that LCD screens are not as delicate as the Plasma displays and are considerably cheaper. This one is one of the largest LCD screens available. ... Read more

Early Adopters Pick: August 2003. The first PDA to include integrated GPS technology.

With the power of Palm OS 5 and the dependability of Garmin GPS technology, this super PDA redefines multitasking. Its integrated software not only allows you to look up appointments and contacts, it also locates and routes you to them with voice-guidance commands. Feature highlights include: GPS receiver, MP3 player, voice recorder, infrared communication, and vibrating alarm.

GPS
The differentiating feature of the iQue 3600 is its integrated GPS capabilities. Garmin's innovative Que technology delivers location awareness, electronic mapping, automatic route calculation, turn-by-turn voice guidance, and map data interface to the iQue 3600. Que technology enables users to see where they are, find a street address, know where the next turn is via visual and voice guidance, get back on track when they’ve strayed off course, and navigate efficiently to their desired destination.

Detailed Mapping
Users can choose a configurable basemap of North America, South America, Europe, or regions in the Pacific Rim, with generalized information on highways, major city streets, highway exit services, railways, rivers, lakes, and state, provincial, and national borders. The iQue also has the added benefit of detailed street information on the included MapSource® CD-ROM, giving users the capability of looking up restaurant addresses, hotels, local attractions, transportation hubs, emergency services, and much more. Once a desired point of interest is chosen, you have the capability to view more info or even show it on the map screen. The mapping capability of the iQue 3600 makes it a versatile companion for the international frequent flyer who travels, for instance, between New York and London or San Francisco and Hong Kong.

Customizable maps mean never getting lost again

Powerful Organization
The iQue 3600 is built around the Palm OS 5 platform and offers standard Palm applications, such as Address Book, Calculator, Date Book, Memo Pad, and To Do List. And there’s enough processing power to search large databases of stored information and to enhance display graphics with easy-to-read fonts and crisp electronic maps. There's also a voice recorder for making memos, quick notes, and messages. With 32 MB of built-in memory and an expansion slot, you can even store your favorite MP3s.

The flip-up GPS antenna
High-Tech Integration
One of the key benefits of technology integration on the iQue 3600 is its patent-pending contact-locator feature. Enabled by Garmin's Que technology, this feature connects the Palm Address Book and Date Book to the GPS electronic map to give the user the ability to navigate directly to a specific address within the user’s contact database.

System
The Garmin iQue 3600 features the new Motorola DragonBall MXL ARM9 microprocessor, and boasts 32 MB DRAM. This handheld is powered by Palm OS 5, which offers the processing power to take on the most demanding mobile computing tasks, together with advanced multimedia and the wireless connectivity and security that enterprises require.

Display
The iQue 3600 delivers brilliant images with its 2.16-by-3.24-inch display. It has a 16-bit color display with 320 x 480 pixel resolution.

Expansion
Expand your iQue 3600 via its Secure Digital slot.

Software
The iQue 3600 comes with the following Garmin Que applications: MP3, GPS Clock, Address Lookup, Electronic Mapping, Track Log, Trip Computer, Automatic Route Generation, and Turn-by-Turn Voice Guidance, as well as these Palm OS 5 applications: Address Book, Calculator, Date Book, Expense, Mail, Memo Pad, Palm Reader, and To Do List. In addition, it includes these third-party applications: Astraware Game Pack, Documents to Go, powerOne Personal Calculator, StarCaddy, SplashPhoto, and Vindigo.

2-0 out of 5 stars It is hard to deal with curstomer service
If you want to buy it, just hope it won't show "route calculation error".Here is the email I sent to them last year and I am still waiting for reply.

"Howdy!
I called two times hoping to find answers of "route calculation error".Unfortunately the problem still exists.
For the first time I used my new iQue 3600 during my trip to San Antonio, TX on August 6 to August 8, 2004.I was amazed at the functions the small one offered. It helped me a lot, especially in the downtown area.On my way back to home, the iQue stopped working and the "route calculation error" appeared on the screen.I had big trouble to find home back.
After I got home, I called tech support and after several attempts I was told to reload the map. After reloading the map, the route calculation error disappeared temporarily.
Today, August 24, I received my friend's new address and I couldn't route to her address and "route calculation error" appeared again.
Today's customer specialist, Doug, after several attempts, still suggested to reload the map.To me it is not an option anymore to solve the problem.I can not reload the map all the time, especially when I am away on road without my computer. If I knew that I would need to reload the map so often, I would not buy it in the first place.
Anyway you know your products better than me.I hope the problem can be solved quickly, otherwise I have to request the return of the product either to the store or to Garmin.
Thank you.

3-0 out of 5 stars Good Product, but does have some faults.
I bought this unit several months ago in anticipation of trip to Italy because of the detailed maps available through Garman. Well, the street detail was breathtaking! Venice is a very complex city with alleys & tiny streets that are bunched together in an impossible maze. As long a I got a clear signal (a drawback of any GPS unit)I knew EXACTLY where I was. Walking directions were right on.
But, back stateside I started seeing some limitations with the unit: 1) Driving directions were not that great, taking you on round about routes in spite of requesting the least # of turns and/or highways (not side streets), 2) the battery life is terribly short and needs to be put back onto the cradle for re-charging, 3) it's a rather fragile unit - I'm somewhat of a klutz from time to time and have dropped the unit which then needed to be reset.
The PDA part of this unit was a welcome bonus. I purchased a 1GB memory card which gave me the maps I needed plus plenty of extra memory. I loaded Pocket Quicken on it which enables me to keep track of my personal finances away from my desktop. Overall - worth the investment.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fantastic product
Really nice product and worth every cent.I own a Garmin StreetPilot and have used a Palm PDA so I found this really easy to use.The ability to drag maps around to find places is amazing.

The integrated PDA functionality really adds value.A must for anyone in sales that travels (you could actually know where your taxi is going and where to find dinner in any city).

If you are just doing navigation for your car you could just go with a StreetPilot - a bit easier to use.My third great GPS from Garmin.

PS. Some of my kids first words in the car "turn right daddy" - copying my nav systems audio - Dad's car talks! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Can't get parts
This is a must-have for those who use the GPS in the car.

Be careful of missing parts.I lost some parts on the cigaratte lighter plug in a rental car and can't get them.

3-0 out of 5 stars Funny design
This gadget is sort of a four-lobed bean-bag with a sticky, rubbery material on the bottom. It doesn't move much on the dashboard, but I wonder if it should even be there.

The instructions are pretty emphatic that you shouldn't put the device in your line-of-sight and it shouldn't rest on an airbag. That would banish it from my Ford Focus and limits it's place in my Honda Odyssey.I'd have preferred something that stuck to the windshield with suction cups, like a radar detector.

The device and the mounting base the iQue 3600 sits in are bulky.I've used mine on business trips and it takes up more space in my carry-on than I think it should.

The mounting bracket that holds the PDA has a couple of screws that allow you to adjust the bracket so you can turn the screen towards you and place it at a convenient angle.I lost one of the screws in a rental car and can't get help from Garmin to replace it.If you buy one of these, watch out for the pieces.

2-0 out of 5 stars Just does not stay.
I purchased the navigation kit but found that when driving a bit sporty, the kit does not stay on the dashboard at all, landed on the floor each time. Eventually placed it on the center console but that is not the right spot to look at the iQue 3600.
Bought the windshield suction cup and found that that works 100 times better than this navigation kit.
Unless, you have a flat dash board and do the 0-60 mph in about a minute or more, don't buy this kit but go for the suction cup. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Poor Product. Never think to buy it
I just got the camera after shiping it to one of my friends in US and he sent it back to me to Cairo. I am really shocked of the poor quality of images. I keep asking my self how can they sell a product like this. I tried it for few minutes then relized that the normal place to put it in is the trash. I paid $80 and got nothing. It is too slow for preview, quality is poor, and never think about taking outdoor photos because you won't see anything. I have TT2 palm with high resolution screen and 24 bit color. When you move the photos to the PC, they are extermly bad and unacceptable. If I were in the US I am sure I would return it back.

4-0 out of 5 stars Fun PDA attachment
I have had one of these for about a week and I'm impressed. I use it with my Treo 90 pda and it takes good picutures. At first I was worried--having read the other reviews, as all my pictures were turning out blurry. After I spent some time learning how to focus, the pictures became clear. I have a $700 digital camera that takes FANTASTIC pics. My son and daughter have $200 cameras that take really good pics. This pda attachment, costing roughly 60-70 dollars takes good pics. I really like the way the camera swivels so I can aim the camera at myself, at someone standing in front of me or at someone standing to the side of me. It's also very easy to use. I plugged it into my pda and within an hour I was hotsynching the pics to my desktop computer and playing with them. It's a great product. I'm very satisfied with the purchase. For the price, it's a good and fun pda attachment.

Editorial Review

Oh no! It looks like your granddad was right--things really were better in the old days. At least they were if you liked 2-D platform games, and Yoshi’s Island is indisputably one of the best ever made.

Yoshi’s Island goes back in time to recount the touching story of the various Yoshis' attempts to unite Baby Mario with his parents. You don’t actually control the Italian plumber-to-be but instead his dinosaur pal, who has the curious ability to eat his enemies and then immediately turn them into eggs, which he can then fling at more enemies.

Since Yoshi isn’t particularly fast and can float in midair for a few seconds after making a jump, the whole dynamics of the normal Mario gameplay have changed, but the same incredible attention to detail and endless imagination that mark all of Nintendo’s best efforts are still here in full effect. In fact they’re joined this time, after the rather plain-looking prequel, by some wonderful pastel-shaded graphics that were jaw-dropping when the game was originally released in 1995 and still manage to impress now.

As with the other Super Mario Advance titles, this game also contains a four-player version of the original Mario Bros. arcade game, making it even more of a bargain than it already was. --David Jenkins, Amazon.co.uk ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Mario's back...except he whines...a lot
I remember the commercial for Yoshi's Island when it was about to be released. A guy who obviously ate too much explodes and the room looks all messy. It was a weird commercial for this and even today I still don't get what the hell it meant. It just happened to advertise one of the best games ever so I'll let it slide.

Story: A stork is travelling with babies and one gets kidnapped while another one falls on Yoshi's Island right on Yoshi's back(which must've at least hurt his spine but oh well). That baby just happens to be Nintendo's resident mascot Mario, only in baby form so now Yoshi has to return him back to his parents while dealing with Baby Bowser.

Graphics: Back when this game was released, this graphics looked trippy. And they still look cool. The graphics almost seem to ooze with color as the locales look very vibrant. Much better looking than the first Mario World.

Sound/Music: My title refers to whenever Yoshi gets hit. You don't know suspense and heart pounding like when you have to rescue Mario. As soon as that whining starts, you make a mad dash for that kid. It's super annoying of course. Oh and the music's good too.

Gameplay: What really sent this game up the critical/fan favorite stratosphere was here. Whenever Yoshi eats an enemy, he makes an egg which he can throw at enemies or clear special paths in terrain. Also here is Yoshi's ability to turn into different vehicles such as the helicopter or a mole.

Taking the Dragon coins from Mario World and expanding on it, every single stage on Yoshi's Island as items that you need to find and if you find them all you get rated out of 100. Get 100 on all stages and you get a surprise. Things like coins, stars, flowers are scattered throughout and you have to find them which adds big time replay value.

See why this game is touted as one of the best games released on the SNES and one of the best available on Gameboy Advance.

5-0 out of 5 stars Too MUCH Fun
This game is AWESOME! It was my first GBA game. BUT, there are some cons. Some levels are just too long and/or impossible. Many times I think i just get lucky. Anyway, my dad saw it and didn't put it down until he beat the game. (no, he didn't play for 24 hours straight.) A fantastic game for mario lovers (like me.) A great idea would be to BUY IT!

3-0 out of 5 stars Ugly but functional, however, consider this alternative ...
... from APC (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00022KJFC/ref=pd_ecc_rvi_3/103-8464419-5683020).It's a few dollars cheaper, and just LOOKS a lot better than the cheesy looking Targus Podium CoolPad.So if you cut and paste the above link, you can read my review there.

5-0 out of 5 stars Podium CoolPad: Elevate your laptop computer
Note that Amazon has mixed together the customer reviews for several very different Targus products, including the Podium CoolPad (which I'm reviewing here), which elevates your laptop; the Notebook Chill Mat (previously called the Tornado Notebook Chill Pad), which cools your laptop with fans powered through a USB port; and the Notebook Portable Lapdesk.

My laptop (a 12-inch iBook) is great for toting to coffee shops but wasn't ideal for extended use at home because I ended up hunched over to see the low screen. The Podium CoolPad solves this problem by elevating the back edge of the computer on stacks of Lego-like blocks--from one to five blocks in each stack. Using five blocks raises the screen more than 3 inches. Of course, the keyboard also ends up higher and at an angle--about a 30-degree angle if you use five blocks. I don't know if this angle would be comfortable for everyone for typing, but it works fine for me. The front and back edges of the computer rest on little rubbery disks. Somewhat to my surprise, this friction is enough to keep the computer securely in place. Even if you nudge the computer pretty hard, it won't slide on the stand; you have to actually pick up the computer to reposition it. You can slide the whole stand across the table, but it takes a good push.

The Podium CoolPad also allows better air circulation under the computer, which is supposed to help keep it from overheating (if that's a problem for you; I haven't had that problem). And it allows you to easily rotate the computer, but it will only rotate if you really intend to rotate it. (This is not a feature that I've found any use for, but I suppose some people might find it handy.)

The Podium CoolPad for Mac is apparently "for Mac" simply because it's white, to match iBooks. There's no reason you can't use it for another kind of computer.

I had tried another solution to my ergonomic problem, but the Podium CoolPad works much better for me. I had bought a separate keyboard to plug in to my iBook so that I could put the iBook on a stack of books or whatever (raising the screen but making the built-in keyboard unusable). But with that arrangement, I had to choose between having the screen farther away than I'd like or having the keyboard closer than I'd like. I almost bought the aesthetically pleasing iCurve Laptop Stand (ASIN B00007L6IA), but it appears that it would've created the same problem for me as a stack of books. With the Podium CoolPad, I can have both the screen and the keyboard positioned comfortably (and I don't need a separate keyboard).

The Podium CoolPad is a good investment if you spend a lot of time on your laptop.

1-0 out of 5 stars Targus Chill Pad is really disappointing
I bought this to use at home with my powerbook.I use an Antec cooling pad at my office which works very well. This cooling pad is really disappointing. The fans barely move and my powerbook's fan still has to come on to supplement.I bought this one to save 5 bucks.I should have just paid 5 bucks more for another Antec cooling pad.Don't waste your money on this one. ... 2-0 out of 5 stars If you use SanDisk SD memory cards beware!!!!
I bought the Viking Intelliflash 6-in-1 USB Flash Memory Reader with the hopes of being able to save battery life on a digital camera. However, on trying an SD memory card from a camcorder I have, it ruined the card and said "files corrupted" and I lost all the pics.I read some of the other reviews and realised the problem lied with the SanDisk memory card I used.

I later tried a Kingston Memory Card I had bought for the digital camera and it worked fine.

1-0 out of 5 stars Don't even think about buying this!
This is a piece of junk.

The first time I inserted a smart media card, the card went all the way into the unit.To get it out, I had to call customer support who told me how to disassemble the unit so that I could extract it.Great start!

It does not consistently read CF cards.

Bottom line-stay away.

1-0 out of 5 stars Corrupted first disk I tried
I tried this the first time with a brand new SD bought on vacation - could see pictures fine on camera but when used this Viking memory reader said disk and files corrupted. Was able to retrieve all but first five photos fortunately - unfortunately one of the five photos was a precious one that cannot be retrieved that was the main reason for the trip (daughter and father dancing). ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Nice product ... fails early
I loved the Linksys USBM128M Disk at first ... when it worked. However, after about 12 months of use I have had it completely and catastrophically fail. I can't get it to work on any Windows XP system I have tried. Windows reports that the device was added but when I try to access the drive either from a command shell or from the GUI, I get an error that the disk is not ready or has not been formatted. Linksys technical support was mostly useless. So, I have 128MB of data that I cannot access and no way to move large data from PC to PC when not networked. The failure period on a totally solid state device should be a lot longer than the year that I have had this product. I purchased a SanDisk Cruzer as a replacement. Hope it performs better.

5-0 out of 5 stars Perfect
That's it! perfect... works as a peferct hard drive. You can carry anywhere you want and i have never had a problem. I was thinking whether was intersting to buy a palm top to carry my files or not. However. Why do you need a palm top? Everywhere you go you can find a computer. Just carry your usb key with you and you don't need anything else. Buy it!!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Versatile!
Bought this item in June and it has worked flawlessly.I swap files between Windows 2000 at work and Windows ME at home. The only issue with W2K is that I have to boot the computer with the USB disk installed in the port, or it won't be recognized. But then I can take it in and out as often as needed until I reboot. So I just have to plan ahead or face a shut down and startup.
There are no issues with ME, it just works. So much more convenient than burning CD's!
One minor complaint, the attachment to the case seems a bit weak, in other words, it comes out very easily.I'd never trust it around my neck.
Great product. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Adequate photos, disappointing durability
This camera performed well for about three months of daily use, and then started having trouble connecting to the phone. You can't leave it plugged in all the time because it drains the phone's battery, you cannot recharge while it is plugged in, and you cannot use the headset while it's plugged in.That means, you are plugging it in and taking it out a lot, so the opportunity for damage is plentiful.Make sure you fill out your warranty card and keep it somewhere close to hand.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good basic digicam
If you are expecting high quality images, then you aren't very realistic. If you are expecting decent basic photos, that suffice nicely for snapshots and phone images, then you'll be thrilled with this accessory.
The communicam lets you take photos in 4 different sizes, 640x480, 320x240, 160x120, and 80x60. I compared the 640x480 images from the communicam to 640x480 pictures taken with my Kodak MC3 digicam, pictures of the same things, taken within minutes of each other, and I was pretty impressed with the communicam.
For a camera that weighs less then a bag of chips, and is about half the size of a business card, the pictures were pretty darn good! In fact, they were pretty darn good for any simple digicam.
I wanted this accessory, pretty much to use the way they show it in the commercials, to take quick snapshots of interesting things I happened to see, and it does that quite nicely. Of course when previewing the images on your phone screen, they won't look so great, as the camera takes pictures in 65million colors, while your phone screen most likely only display 256 or 4096 colors. But, if you look at the photos on a computer screen, they look just fine.
To see the comparison shots I took of my house and front yard, go to hel.stormpages.com/camcomparison.htm . All in all, I am very happy with my purchase of the MCA-25 communicam.

4-0 out of 5 stars A lot better than I expected
I got this at the AT&T store when I purchased my new T68i.Yes, the pictures look [aweful] on the phone no matter what you do, and yes they look horrible if taken in bad light. But - taken in decent lighting and viewed on a proper computer screen, they actually aren't too bad.You aren't forced to use the camera's LCD screen to frame the picture - there's a little view finder, and it's very simple to transfer the pics to your laptop via infrared, or you can email them to yourself.

I like it. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Ericsson Mp3 Handsfree HPM-10
This is a cool product. Instead of having all these different electronic gadgets with you, you can have a cell phone and mp3 player in one. I got mine the other day and it runs great. As a matter of fact I got some extra .... Since it comes with a 32 meg card, you might need to get another card but they are pretty cheap if you shop around. I'd recommend it to anyone.

4-0 out of 5 stars Shop around and educate yourself
I wanted to lay down the FACTS that may help you.

- You CAN use any standard MMC compliant memory, im using 256MB myself, and compress any bitrate, im getting over 4 hours at CD quality (128 Joint).
-Memory is not so expensive if you shop around, i payed less than 33 cents a Meg for that card (including shipping).
- You CAN buy an adaptor to convert the 3/32" stero jack to 1/4" stero standard ear phone size.Im certain the ancient parallel port writer that comes with it, will never work in XP, but you CAN use any MMC writer.

Its not the most sturdy, but its very light, and the sound quality is very good. My only gripe about construction is that the card does tend to get easy jolted and stop playing.

Personally I connect it directly to the HCH-28 car holder and leave it there. I use the output to my stereo system rather than ear phones, and i got a MP3 hands free all in one.

It does have the option for Auto and/or Random play when connected.

In conlusion:
-It makes the phone too long and awkward when connected.
-For this price its way not worth it.
-But if you get it as a gift id give it 3 or 4 stars

4-0 out of 5 stars mmm, mp3s...
this is definitely not the best product ever.it's probably not worth [price].but i got it for [less] and it's worth that much certainly.....

my complaints are:
i can't plug in headphones with a regular jack
it isn't too pretty
the mmc card reader it comes with is a bit of a pain
the mmc card it comes with doesn't hold much music (about half a cd)

however:
the headphones it comes with are acceptable
it does what it is supposed to do
other mmc card readers can be used
larger capacity mmc cards can be used

so, if you like music and are willing to shop around to find a good price, this is for you. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Bad... Phone Holder different from picture
What I got from this package is a different phone holder than the one shown on the picture...
Everything else is good. However, if you choose to charge your phone with the car charger, you can talk at the same time because it makes your phone not functional...

5-0 out of 5 stars Very Happy Customer
I was very pleased with my purchase of the combo pack. If your like me, headsets, car chargers and all accessories for my cell phone get lost, left in taxi's, hotels and at home when I travel. Typically, all phones come with one of these accessories that comes in this combo pack, however, having a spare is awesome!

5-0 out of 5 stars The basics for a great price
I bought this kit as a gift for my brother and we are both happy with it. For me it was easy to choose, all I needed to know was the phone model and it was a great price. My brother did already have a headset but was greatful to have a spare, he lost his original headset days later! The gripping phone holder is great because it is not permanent and he can take it with him when he travels. For all you gadget dummies that find stuff like this confusing, I recommend it as a really easy way to make the most of your cell phone. ... Read more

Editorial Review

This is the beginning of a beautiful friendship. As its ratings following the tragic events of September 11, 2001, illustrated, Friends has matured into television's most beloved comfort show. The peerless ensemble--Jennifer Aniston, a pre-Arquette Courtney Cox, Emmy winner Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, and David Schwimmer--makes a lasting first impression in the first season's 24 episodes, which are presented chronologically on four discs. The perky "Pilot" introduces unlucky-in-love Monica, runaway bride Rachel, sad sack Ross, New Age ditz Phoebe, wise guy Chandler, and womanizer Joey. The focus of the first season is Ross's unrequited love for Rachel, but we have these moments to remember: the arrival of Marcel the monkey ("The One with the Monkey"); Monica, Rachel, and Phoebe's "cleansing ritual" ("The One with the Candy Hearts"); the escalating game of shower peek-a-boo ("The One with the Boobies"); Joey as Al Pacino's butt double ("The One with the Butt"); Ross taking lessons from Joey in how to "talk dirty" ("The One with the Stoned Guy"); former "Must-See TV" stars Helen Hunt and George Clooney ("The One with Two Parts"); and Chandler spilling the beans to Rachel about Ross's feelings for her ("The One Where Rachel Finds Out"). Though its devoted fans can recite these episodes chapter and verse, Friends maintains its sparkle through repeat viewings, a testament to the sharp writing as well as the cast's lightning-in-a-bottle chemistry and lived-in performances. The episodes are presented uncut and extended, with previously unseen dialogue and scenes. And those who hate Friends and would like to drown the characters in the opening credits' fountain are directed to the episode "The One with the Boobies," in which guest star Fisher Stevens hilariously nails the "dysfunctional group dynamic ... co-dependent, emotionally stunted, sitting in your stupid coffeehouse and you're all like, 'Define me, define me.'" --Donald Liebenson ... 5-0 out of 5 stars LIFE WITHOUT FRIENDS? IMPOSSIBLE!
My sister and I decided to try and watch all the Friends - Season One episodes in one night... We tried, but failed. It got kinda late! However, if I could, I would. This show is packed with funny jokes and comments and there's no way you can help but burst out laughing somewhere in an episode. If you've never seen Friends then you are DEFINITLEY missing out. I'd recommend this to somebody any day.

5-0 out of 5 stars Friends Season 1

[Episode 3] The One With The Thumb
[Episode 4] The One With George Stephanopoulos

[Episode 21] The One With The Fake Monica
[Episode 22] The One With The Ick Factor
[Episode 23] The One With The Birth
[Episode 24] The One Where Rachel Finds Out

Although I liked all of these episodes, my favourite episodes were:

[Episode 1] The Pilot
[Episode 4] The One With George Stephanopoulos
[Episode 7] The One With The Blackout
[Episode 9] The One Where The Underdog Gets Away
[Episode 13] The One With The Boobies
[Episode 21] The One With The Fake Monica
[Episode 22] The One With The Ick Factor
[Episode 24] The One Where Rachel Finds Out

I liked all of these episodes, but my favourite was Episode 24, because it was very interesting. I liked the fact this included Madonna's song, "Take A Bow", because it fits in well and I'm listening to it now, as I type! My favourite members are Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) and Ross (David Schwimmer). The Special Features were: Web-enabled, Subtitles, Music Video for "I'll Be There For You". Also buy Series 2-10.

4-0 out of 5 stars Memorable and consistent performances from the very start
Friends is a feel-good type show with a little bit of an edge - perhaps the closest analogies are Three's Company and I Love Lucy. The show knows it too - it shamelessly rips off the "misunderstandings piling on top of each other" formula in more than one episode. It does have a significant difference, though - Three's Company and Lucy were little more than vehicles for John Ritter and Lucille Ball.Friends is truly an ensemble show - not even Cheers or M*A*S*H could reach the finely balanced and unselfish group dynamic of Friends.

For those that don't know, it's the story of 6 25-ish friends (35 by the end of the series) that live in N.Y.In this first season, only Chandler and Ross have anything approaching real jobs. That leaves them with lots of time to sit around the coffee shop, date, and otherwise kill time. Not only are the 6 main characters distinct and likeable (if unrealistically good-looking), the extended universe is rapidly filled out with Chandler's mom (Morgan Fairchild), Monica and Ross's parents (Elliot Gould still steals every scene he's in), Rachel's ex-fiance, Phoebe's physicist boyfriend (Hank Azaria), etc.A half hour with Friends is really a lot like coming back to a comforatble group of your own old friends (or, at least, like lounging in sweat pants and T-shirts).

The show is not perfect - as mentioned above, these people are too good looking to be real, their apartments are too nice to be affordable. Some shows are no more than rehashed Three's Company or Cheers episodes. There are a few too many cutsy gimmicks in this first season - the stupid monkey that infests the middle of the season, the fact that Ross married a lesbian, Phoebe's ditsy new-age aura cleasing, the way the Ross-Rachel dynamic drags on and on (and on and on).But the characters are so sharply defined, and the actors so likeable in the roles, that you forgive such gaffs and enjoy the shows anyways.Besides, where else will you find John Lovetz as a stoned restauranteur?

This DVD edition looks and sounds great (as it should).Obviously, it's great to be able to watch these shows commercial-free.There are even a few cut scenes added to the pilot that were never aired. But there's really very little on the DVD other than the shows. It's a far cry from the packed DVD's of the Simpsons. But then, 24 episodes for a measly $25 dollars is still a pretty good deal. ... Editorial Review

Stunt casting stumbles (Jean-Claude Van Damme, Charlie Sheen) aside, it was a very good year for this beloved series, ranked by TV Guide as among the top 25 of all time. With the bar set so high from the first season, a sophomore slump could be expected, but, apart from a game Julia Roberts, only the hour-long episode raised the question whether success would spoil Friends. (This episode, "The One After the Super Bowl," convinced some misguided NBC executive that guest star Brooke Shields could carry her own series!) Ross (David Schwimmer) and Rachel (an Emmy-worthy Jennifer Aniston) were the engine that drove the season and produced some of the series' most monumental episodes, including "The One with Ross' New Girlfriend," "The One Where Ross Finds Out" (with R & R's first kiss), "The One with the List," "The One with the Prom Video," and "The One Where Ross and Rachel... You Know." But this was not the only significant story arc.

Enter--and, in the bittersweet season finale, exit--Tom Selleck as Dr. Richard Burke, the family friend ("He's like a brother to... Dad," notes a disapproving Ross) who becomes Monica's (Courtney Cox) lover. Joey (Matt LeBlanc) finds success (albeit short-lived) as Dr. Drake Ramoray on "Days of Our Lives" and moves out ("We're not Bert and Ernie," he tells roommate Chandler). Future Emmy winner Lisa Kudrow's best season is to come, but, as Phoebe, she makes the most of some memorable subplots, including her shocked discovery of sad movie endings she had been shielded from ("The One Where Old Yeller Dies"), her dispute with Ross over evolution ("The One Where Heckles Dies"), and her channeling of an elderly woman who died on her massage table ("The One with the Lesbian Wedding"). Praise is due unsung hero Lauren Tom, so charming and sweet in the thankless role as Julie, the Girl Who Comes Between Ross and Rachel. Adam Goldberg also makes an indelible impression in his three-episode stint as Chandler's new "psycho" roommate. Notable omissions from this set include chapter stops for each episode, and uh, ahem, hel-LOH, how about commentary from the cast? --Donald Liebenson ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Friends Season 2: The Backlash
Season 2 was the peak of the media frenzy that caused what is now known as the backlash years. They've became so overexposed with the diet coke commercials, the theme song, magazine covers everywhere. But there is no doubt that Season 2 is a strong season. This is also probably the peak of Chandler and Joey as best buds which wass one of my favorite running storylines of the series. And not o mention the much awaited Ross and Rachel hookup. Elsewhere this is also the genesis of Monica and Richard's (Tom Selleck) romance and also the start of Phoebe's storylines about her family.

Standout episodes are TOW the Ross New Girlfriend (The best season opener of the series, all three storylines were memorable, Aniston was especially good and hilarious), Tow the baby on the Bus (Kudrow, Perry, and Le blanc were all magnificent here), Tow the List (Aniston and Schwimmer were the standout here especially towards the end), Tow the Prom Video (one of my all time favorite episodes, everything about this episode screams CLASSIC), TOW Ross Finds Out (another Schwimmer and Aniston classic especially their historic first big fight and first real kiss), TOW the Two Parties, TOW Eddie Moves In, TOW Joey Moves Out (Cox was the standout here), and TOW Barry and Mindy's Wedding (probably the most low key finale of the series)

I have to talk more about TOW the Prom Video, the best episode of the season. I love that at the start it seemed like a regular episode until it reached towards the end where we know this isn't just a regular episode. This is destined to become a classic. Everything about this episode is memorable from the performances, to the one-liners ("How many cameras are actually on you?" "I think I'm ready for my (...) now") to the debut of Fat Monica and Ross afro, to Chandler's bracelet to Phoebe's lobster theory and of course the fact that Ross and Rachel are officially together.

Grade: A

5-0 out of 5 stars Friends Series 2
Friends is a excellent and classic TV show. If you like this show or are a comedy fan, I reccommend that you pick this DVD up!! In the second series, you get the following episodes:

[Episode 1] The One With Ross's New Girlfriend
[Episode 2] The One With The Breast Milk
[Episode 3] The One Where Heckles Dies
[Episode 4] The One With Phoebe's Husband
[Episode 5] The One With Five Steaks And An Eggplant
[Episode 6] The One With The Baby On The Bus
[Episode 7] The One Where Ross Finds Out
[Episode 8] The One With The List
[Episode 9] The One With Phoebe's Dad
[Episode 10] The One With Russ
[Episode 11] The One With The Lesbian Wedding
[Episode 12] The One After The Super Bowl Part 1
[Episode 13] The One After The Super Bowl Part 2
[Episode 14] The One With The Prom Video
[Episode 15] The One Where Ross And Rachel...You Know
[Episode 16] The One Where Joey Moves Out
[Episode 17] The One Where Eddie Moves In
[Episode 18] The One Where Dr. Ramoray Dies
[Episode 19] The One Where Eddie Won't Go
[Episode 20] The One Where Old Yeller Dies
[Episode 21] The One With The Bullies
[Episode 22] The One With Two Parties
[Episode 23] The One With The Chicken Pox
[Episode 24] The One With Barry & Mindy's Wedding

Special Features: Web-enabled, Subtitles, The Rembrandts' Music Video - "I'll Be There For You" [Theme tune for Friends].

I thought that all of these episodes were great, but some of my favourites were:

[Episode 1] The One With Ross's New Girlfriend
[Episode 2] The One With The Breast Milk
[Episode 6] The One With The Baby On The Bus
[Episode 15] The One Where Ross And Rachel...You Know
[Episode 17] The One Where Eddie Moves In
[Episode 19] The One Where Eddie Won't Go
[Episode 21] The One With The Bullies
[Episode 22] The One With Two Parties

Even though all six characters were funny in these episodes, the people that made them particularly funny were Rachel, Phoebe and Chandler. If you liked this series, I'd reccommend you buy Series 1 and Series 3-10.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Best of the Seasons of Friends
All of the other reviews do so much to fill in exactly what is on these discs for this season. However there are so many other funny, funny moments that are included in these shows that i had to take a moment and fill in some of the rest of the things that are on these DVD's but not listed.

Included in these episodes are:

1. Chandler's having a "problem with touching" with Joey's tailor.

2. Ross feeling jealous about the breast milk and pouring some on his arm and then being unable to do anything about it takes a towel and wipes it off and storms out.

3. The funny scene from the baby on the bus where Chandler and Joey are deciding to flip for which baby to take home and Chandler says "what kind of scary *** clowns came to your birthday parties.

4.Ross and Julie on the phone saying "no you hang up, no you hang up" and Rachel, unable to take it anymore, grabs the phone from Ross and hangs up.

I was rolling on the floor laughing watching these and although the descriptions for the shows give you a lot of insight into which show you are getting, the other precious, funny moments that are included in these episodes as subplots are just unreal.Just thought I would share with you.

This is a SUPERB season of Friends and you will LOVE it.ENJOY!!

Editorial Review

Friends' peerless writing staff really spreads the wealth in this pivotal third season. Each of this seamless ensemble's cast members was given a story arc that deepened and enriched their characters. Most devastatingly, Ross (David Schwimmer) and Rachel's (freshly minted Emmy-winner Jennifer Aniston) romance is torn asunder by Ross's jealousy (not to mention his one-night stand while the couple are, now famously, "on a break"). Phoebe (Lisa Kudrow) is reunited with her half brother (Giovanni Ribisi) and meets a family friend (Terri Garr; inspired casting) who drops a Darth Vader-esque bombshell about Phoebe's parentage. Monica (Courtney Cox) begins the season reeling from her breakup with Richard (Tom Selleck, who reappears in "The One Where Monica and Richard Are Friends"), but rebounds with Pete (Jon Favreau from Swingers), a millionaire ("He's the perfect guy," she states. "He has everything. Plus he actually has everything"). Chandler is driven to increasingly hysterical attempts to "go through the tunnel" and commit to his relationship with Janice (Maggie Wheeler). And womanizer Joey (Matt LeBlanc) reveals his soulful side when he falls for an initially contemptuous theatrical costar. Also lending memorable support are Alison LaPlaca, as Rachel's self-absorbed new boss, and an Emmy-worthy Ben Stiller ("The One with the Screamer") as Rachel's new boyfriend whose volcanic temper only erupts in front of Ross.

Friends continues its hit-and-miss history with A-list cameos. Robin Williams and Billy Crystal ("The One with the Ultimate Fighting Champion") are about as funny as the woeful film they were hyping, Fathers' Day. More memorable is Isabella Rossellini ("The One with Frank Jr."), whom the hapless Ross meets just after crossing her off his "freebie list" of celebrities Rachel would allow him to sleep with. Other classic episodes include the season-opener, "The One with the Princess Leia Fantasy" and "The One with the Flashback," which offers some provocative near-couplings between Monica and Joey, Ross and Phoebe, and Chandler and Rachel. Add a chick and a duck ("The One with a Chick, and a Duck"), and you have a benchmark season in this irreplaceable series. But still: You'd think a million dollars an episode would buy some DVD cast commentary! --Donald Liebenson ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Friends Season 3: The Breakup Year
This is one of my all time favorite seasons of Friends. I love the whole atmosphere of the entire season. But of course to fans this season will always be known as the season where Ross and Rachel broke up. It was just so memorable and indelible that it echoes to the succeeding episodes of the season.

Standouts episode are The One the Morning After (one of my all time favorites, Aniston and Schwimmer were just moving in here, and also the other four friends provide great comic support. Friends at its best), TOW Monica and Richard are just friends (this has always been one of my favorites, all the three storylines were great, but my favorite is the book swap with Joey and Rachel, both were hilarious especially Le Blanc), Tow the giant Poking Device (Perry and Kudrow stole the show), TOW No one's Ready (this is one of those episodes where it just gets better and better as you watch it), Tow the Frank Jr., TOW the Jam (Cox own this episode, very true to her character), Tow the Flashbacks, Tow the screamer, Tow the Chick and the duck, TOW the Ultimate Fighting Champion and TOW the Beach.

One of the things that I love about the show is that all six characters have their share of character highs and lows, nobody dominates and actually runs the show, instead once in a while one character emerge as the strongest, but most of the time their complementing each other thus cementing their ensemble as one of the most effective and powerful ever.

Grade: A+

4-0 out of 5 stars Still funny, but...
I'm still giving 4 stars to the third season of "Friends" because it did make me laugh, but I'm definitely disappointed at seeing a trend toward more outlandish sitcom plots that turn the characters into caricatures.Ross (David Schwimmer) becomes a really annoying, insensitive, whining weenie; couldn't the writers have come up with a more human, moving reason for his break-up with Rachel (Jennifer Aniston)?Would a couple of single guys like Chandler (Matthew Perry) and Joey (Matt LeBlanc) really lavish so much time and affection on a chick and a duck?Does anything we see about Monica's (Courtney Cox) new boyfriend, Pete (Jon Favreau), account for his sudden, unquenchable desire to become the world's ultimate fighting champion? No, but I guess the writers wanted to do an episode about ultimate fighting, so there we have it.

Friends fans, before you clobber me with "unhelpful" ratings, bear in mind that I did give this season 4 stars. It is funny. But I'm disappointed by what seems to me a consistent slide from an excellent first season in which the characters seemed more like real people than the average sitcom characters.
