    Editorial Review

The RCA RP3755 AM/FM Dual Wake CD Clock Radio offers features that will make your waking and sleeping lives easier and more peaceful than ever. With the RCA RP3755, you can wake or fall asleep to your favorite radio station, your favorite CD, or the smoothing sounds of sea waves, bird song, rain forests, mountain streams or other serene nature sounds included on the bonus CD.

Digital tuning, 11 AM/FM presets, and a high performance system with bass reflex speakers means that your favorite radio station, at high-performance sounds, is just a button away. A motorize CD door system provides for smooth and easy access to your favorite CD. Best of all, the RCA RP3755 runs on a unique ASIC chip, in which three features are combined to make life a little bit easier for you and yours. The Graduwake Ramp-Up Alarm gradually increases the volume of the alarm as you wake up; a "nap" function allows you to take a refreshing cat nap without fear of sleeping all afternoon, and a programmable snooze feature means you can sleep for up to an extra two hours after your alarm initially wakes you up. A large, backlit 1.25-inch display for easy readability rounds out the features of this outstanding CD clock radio. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great radio with lots of features
I just purchased one of these clock radios and really like it.You can put a cd in and wake to the track of the cd you want to hear, plus with the two separate alarms, you can set the second alarm to sound with a ramp up tone in case you wouldn't wake up to the music.Great sound for a compact system.Directions are easy to follow, just read them and program the buttons with ease.Plus it also comes with a nature cd with lots of different sounds such as birds and stream sounds.I am thinking of purchasing a second radio for my other room.It can also be programmed with the nap setting to wake you up after so many minutes, and a sleep setting to let you fall asleep to the radio or cd, then it will turn of after the time you set it.Just press a button and a motorized door opens up to insert cd then closes. Dimmer switch on the back to adjust the brightness of the display.Great little system.

1-0 out of 5 stars Never found one with a working CD player
I was primarily looking for four things in an alarm clock:a CD player, digital AM/FM tuning, battery backup, and an earphone jack.I was thrilled to find this little beauty at my local BJ's Wholesale Club.

I got it home and read the manual cover to cover (I know I'm weird, but it's my way).I programmed in the correct time, alarm settings and radio settings. All was well, I was in love.

Then, I put a CD in....and nothing much happened.A whirring sound as the CD started spinning, then silence as it stopped spinning and the display read "no disc."I thought maybe the disc needed cleaning -- but no fingerprints.I tried multiple discs, but nothing worked.So....

I returned it to the store that day and exchanged it for a new one.And the exact same thing happened!I even called my husband in to make sure I wasn't missing anything obvious. He fussed with it for a while, read the manual too (he's an engineer, he can't help it) and declared it a piece of junk.I'm very disappointed.

1-0 out of 5 stars Do Not Buy This---Safety Issue
I caution anyone from buying this product.I had it in my baby's room and one night my baby woke up crying.I went to see what was going on, and the room was a little smokey and had the smell of electrical wires burning.I quickly discovered that it was this unit and unplugged it immediately.Luckily it didn't become more serious than that.I have contacted RCA and made them aware of the occurrance but I caution anyone from buying this product. ... 2-0 out of 5 stars "Let's make getting the temperature as hard as possible."
Man, I'm sure glad that these guys didn't design any aircraft I've been flying on!How can you possibly screw up getting the temperature?I agree with the other review that, without the manual, fat chance you could figure out how to switch from C to F with this thing.I've done it a half dozen times and still dont' remember how I did it each time.Setting the hi and low alarms?Who cares!

I must admit, this thing is still working for us after 3 years and the display is pretty easy to read (as long as the batteries are fresh, and they won't be for long). My next digital thermometer will probably not be a Royal.

3-0 out of 5 stars Don't lose the manual...
The thermometer was affordable and displays lots of information. You can also program min and max temps for both indoor and outdoor sensors, and change the temp reading between C and F. However, keep your manual handy...the programming is not intuitive. Setting the clock each time you change the batteries (which is about every 6 months) can be a task without it. Also, if you fumble with the buttons because you do not know how to program the thermometer, you might inadvertently set the min/max alarms, and then you would have a tough time disabling this feature. I have my manual handy, so it's not so bad, but each time I change the batteries, I've got to look at it again--even after having this product for about two years.

Jensen JCR-700 Digital AM/FM Shower Clock Radio with CD Player
Average Customer Review: 2.5 out of 5 stars

US | Canada | United Kingdom | Germany | France

    Editorial Review

Squeeze in some quality music listening as you start or end your day, with Jensen's JCR-700 shower CD player. The unit sports backlit LCD and a built-in AM/FM radio with 20 station presets (10 FM, 10 AM) for 1-button tuning to your favorite morning programs. Drift-free PLL (phase-lock-loop) tuning gives you clear reception every time.. It comes with hangers to hang from the shower head or curtain rail, or it can be wall mounted with the included bracket. The unit also comes with a base stand which makes it equally at home in the kitchen, den, garage or just about anywhere you want to enjoy your favorite radio tunes.

CD listening features include 20-track programmable memory and 1/all repeat--just the thing while you're perfecting your rendition of "Can't Take My Eyes Off You" (surely one of the greatest shower songs of all time). A minijack .125-inch headphone jack lets you listen in private, but we don't recommend using headphones in the shower--bathrooms are private enough already.

The player runs on 6 C batteries (not included) or AC power using a supplied AC/DC adapter (also not for shower use). The unit is backed by a 90-day manufacturer's warranty.

1-0 out of 5 stars Broke right of the box
I got this as a Xmas gift and it has yet to work right.I tried using it in the bathroom and for the first 5min the radio actually worked then nothing, just shut off.I haven't been able to turn it on since then.Neither radio or CD function will turn on which is odd considering the clock and backlight function still work fine. Don't know if there's some special buttons I'm supposed to be using besides the On/Off one. Also the model doesn't appear on the Jensen website, am planning on exchange for another model.

    1-0 out of 5 stars CD-R/RW?
Does anyone know if this item plays burned CD's? Doesn't say anything about CD-R/RW/MP3 playback, so I would asssume it will not be compatible with recorded discs....can anyone verify that for me?

3-0 out of 5 stars FYI
In response to "A Guest" in Virgina, I believe you wrote a review for the wrong product. You state your tuning knob has become stuck but this product has no tuning knob as it uses a digital tuner.Just thought others should know this.I havn't used this shower radio yet but I plan to pick one up after I received a Spectra shower radio (CR-500) for christmas which has broken after about a week, stay away from that one... ... 5-0 out of 5 stars An Outstanding Reference
Jeff Savage has done an outstanding job in putting together a convenient database for the clock collector. Thousands of clock sales can be accessed using key words to narrow the search. This reference is probably the best way to determine/estimate the value of clocks. It also provides links to dozens of useful internet sites for the clock collector. It is the best reference that I have found and worth its price many times over. I would also recommend that collectors contact Jeff Savage to learn about his even more complete database which is offered through a yearly subscription.

5-0 out of 5 stars "Everyone Has an Antique Clock!"
I am a personal property appraiser in Birmingham, AL, with a specialty in antiques. It seems to me that in almost every appraisal I have there is at least one clock. Most old clocks are not only very beautiful, but they run forever! They are passed down from one generation to another, and everyone wants to know a little history about their clock and its value today. Jeff Savage has opened a new tool of research for individual owners or professional appraisers. This book supplies a tremendous amount of information about the history of clocks, helps in identification, names of makers, etc.,PLUS the unique feature of being able to go to a special web site and see pictures of thousands of clocks and with their up-to-date values.

I have already used it several times in my appraisal work. It is very easy to use. You do not have to be a computer expert to navigate the web site.

Everyone has an antique clock.Find out about the one you have...or call an appraiser to do it for you!

5-0 out of 5 stars Clocks for Everyone
Anyone with an interest in antique clocks will throughly enjoy this book. Perhaps the most comprehensive and useful clock reference I own. As a residential contents appraiser, specializing in antiques; I own many types of clock price guides, value guides andreference books. This will certainly be one of my favorite and most used.
It includes an exceptionally well written history of clocks, with tips to dating clocks, patent numbers, British registered design numbers. The glossary of types is illustrated with comprehensive discriptions.
The authors include many wonderful on line links to dealers, museums, shops, organizations and other resources.
Values shown are the actual auction realized prices. This is so helpful for buyers, sellers, appraisers, or anyone who loves old clocks.
Other particularly interesting areas are tips on buying and selling, determining age, types of value and what a clock appraisal should include.
4000 clocks with thousands of color photographs, American, English and Continental; this book is a must have for my library. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Basic history overview with even more basic plans
I enjoyed the first section of the book with a nice historical overview of clocks. From there it was disappointing. If you are a complete beginner with no creativity you may find this helpful, but as an intermediate woodworker I felt most of these could be re-created from a simple photo without a need for critical dimensions. As well, most of these "clock" plans were simple wood sculptures...with a hole for a $10 clock insert. I think there is only one tall clock in the book and one Shaker style wall clock. If you're a complete beginner, take a look.If you're looking for more ideas to improve your basic or intermediate skills, keep looking.

4-0 out of 5 stars Old pocket watches explained
The focus is on antique European pocket watches, especially British ones, this being a British publication. The technical history of watches is thoroughly covered, the various outdated watch mechanisms--verge, fusee, cylinder escapement--are explained, and interesting footnotes are included, like the wage records from a 19th century watch shop. A chapter on repair will get you started, and even tell you how to restore the blueing on the watch hands (heat them in a tray over an alcohol lamp). The author has spent much of his life studying and collecting old watches, and has produced an easy-to-read guide filled with interesting and useful information.

3-0 out of 5 stars A very well written summary of the watch development
If you are a "newbie" in the world of watch collecting, this is the right book for you. It focuses the watch evolution from the late 16TH century to the modern quartz watch. It has a lot of graphics and black andwhite pocket watch pictures...The book, however, is, in my point of view, intended for a quick knowledge of the watch's history and mechanics...Itdoesn't cover, for instance, the modern automatic wristwatch. I thinkthat's the best book to read before trying something more techicall. Thereading is very straight forward, but the experts in the field will findthe book very summarized. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The Bible for Hamilton Manual Collectors
Renee's labor of love is a "godsend" for those of us who's passion is the collecting of vintage American wristwatches. As my collection is centered around the classic tanks for Gruen, Bulova and Hamilton, this book was the ultimate source on the hundreds of models produced, their respective movements, their histories, original ads, and production figures, when available. He wisely stays away from "price guides" which would "date" the book, and be subjective. Its usefulness or interest would be a bit limited to non-Hamilton fanatics, but a worthwhile addition to any horological library.
