2-0 out of 5 stars Poor Design and Reliability
First of all, I feel badly for anyone who thought that this is an atomic clock.Your skills at reading product information could use a bit of work. For all of the product's flaws, the radio's packaging and promotion material are pretty clear and not at all misleading regarding this feature.

That said, this product stinks:1. The preset time was off by two minutes. 2. The volume control became unreliable after a few months.A small movement of the dial could send the sound level shooting up or unchanged. Even worse, we never knew what volume to expect when it went off in the morning.3. The sound quality is really poor (though not unexpected in this price range). 4. The controls are not at all intuitive. An alarm clock, given that we use is when very sleepy, should be simple and straightforward to operate.

I gave it two stars (rather than one) since aside from the reliability issue, the product would have been minimally acceptable.

We gave up on it after a few months and replaced it with a nice Timex "Sounds of Nature" alarm. So far, no complaints.

1-0 out of 5 stars Not an "atomic" clock!
I purchased this clock/radio because I believed that I was getting an "atomic" clock due to GE's use of the term "auto time set." An "atomic" clock (or watch) is a clock that sets its time automatically by monitoring the WWVB clock signal transmitted by the NIST atomic clock in Fort Collins, Colorado. In other words, a true "atomic" clock/radio would never need setting, would never need to be adjusted for daylight savings time, and would always display the accurate time.

The GE 74894 clock/radio's "auto time set" is a marketing trick. It's a play on words. GE wants you to think that this is an "atomic" clock but it's not! What you get is a clock that's been pre-set at the factory and stays set using its two installed AA batteries. Plug it in and presto! It's magically set to the correct time. But, if you unplug the clock and remove the batteries it defaults to the flashing "12:00" time and you must manually set the time.

The clock/radio itself seems nice. Lots of nice features like dual-alarm, and a weekend skip for the alarm(s).

Some cons to this clock/radio are that its green LED display is very bright at night (no dimmer) which lights up the room. The snooze button is close to the alarm set switches... one morning while trying to snooze the alarm, I hit the Alarm 2 Set button and activated the second alarm setting. And, the "gentle" alarm mode doesn't work on the wake-to-radio setting.

I rate this clock/radio a "1" because of the deceptive advertising. I would NOT have purchased it if I had known that it was not an "atomic" clock (i.e., I was specifically looking for such a unit.) The use of the words "auto time set" is deceptive and misleading.

1-0 out of 5 stars Shame on you GE
I too was fooled in thinking that auto-time set meant from the Atomic clock in Boulder Colorado.
It became apparant immediatly because the factory preset the time wrong (and no not because of the time zone switch), they had it :12 minutes past hour when it was actually :22 past hour.
So the very first time I had to set it anyhow. I wanted the atomic feature to insure daily recalibration and accuracy.
Oh well, at least twice a year when I have to make the adjustment for time change I am reminded to never buy a GE product again. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars I Like 'Em
I have these on a plastic textured telescoping rod and they work well. The first week or so, 3 or 4 had the tendancy to come unhooked when being pulled too fast but other than that, I like 'em. Also- not only are they better looking than the plastic ones, they are *so* much easier to install/remove when you wash or replace the curtain or liner. I am sold on shower-hooks for life!

I've had these shower curtains for about 2 months now, I'd gotten them as a Wedding Shower gift.I've had no problem with them coming off the rod as I pull the shower curtain. For the price they work beautifully.I haven't seen any rust yet, and also haven't dropped one.So We'll see what happens in the future. But for now, I still think these look great for the price and function well. ... White Vinyl Rice Paper Shower Curtain

4-0 out of 5 stars It's fine, but...
It is fine, I really like the 'rice paper' look - but keep in mind that it is vinyl, so it has a shiny plastic reflection that sort of takes away from the cool visual texture. Also, no grommets, so you need to be careful when pulling, placing and hanging. Cheap, though! Paired with a white liner, it looks clean and cool. I think it is a great low-price choice.

5-0 out of 5 stars Christmas gift!
One year my daughter decorated my guest bathroom as her Christmas gift to me, and this is the shower curtain she picked out.We wanted something that would be pretty and blend in well with the black and white of the bathroom. I have really liked this shower curtain; this is the third one I have purchased. I could not find it in the store, so I am ordering online. My master bathroom is in shades of beige, taupe, cream and white, and this curtain looks great with it as well!

4-0 out of 5 stars plain but pretty.
I recently purchased this shower curtain and I love it! I was looking for something a bit more decorative than just a plain clear liner and saw this. I really like it alot. It's simple yet pretty and looks great with decorative shower curtain hooks. It would match most bathrooms. my only complaint is simply that the shower curtain has no 'weights' at the bottom like a plain liner often has... It hasn't been a problem yet though, and if I have to, I can tape pennies to the bottom on the outside to keep it down. I think it would add a nice touch to any bathroom. ... Read more

Pfaltzgraff Rio 4-Piece Stoneware Place Setting, Service for 1
Average Customer Review: 4.0 out of 5 stars
    list price: $31.50

    Editorial Review

Bands of blue, varying in width and shade, set against a light-sand background evoke a Brazilian beach and cloudless sky in this casual dinnerware pattern called Rio. Particularly striking is the salad/dessert plate, with its subtly shaded, solid-blue center calling to mind a summer twilight. This set consists of a complete place setting: an 11-1/4-inch dinner plate; an 8-1/2-inch salad/dessert plate; a 6-inch, 20-ounce soup/cereal bowl; and a 10-ounce mug. Made of heavy stoneware, Rio pieces are chip-resistant and safe in the oven, freezer, microwave, and dishwasher. This dinnerware carries a three-year warranty against defects, and you can replace each piece individually. Pfaltzgraff makes Rio available in dinnerware, glassware, and accessories. --Fred Brack

very pretty too bad they discontinued the line. a couple pieces were broken or scratched but the replacement was easy. this is my second set of this brand and they do get scratched up after a while

4-0 out of 5 stars Great set of dishes
Pfaltzgraff has always been synonymous with quality. The Rio pattern place setting is a great example. The plates are nice, heavy stoneware with a great design.I appreciate simple and manly design of the dishes.

These plates are excellent for serving pancakes or foie gras. They can easily pass for casual or elegant. The colors of the plates make them easy to accent with napkins, glasses, placemats, centerpieces, etc.

My only complaint is that after a while the dishes show light gray streaks from silverware scraping them. They do not wash off, but don't really take away from the overall visual elegance of the plates. This small flaw is what prevented me from giving the set 5 stars ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Finally, glasses that can take a beating!
While I wouldn't recommend throwing these against a brick wall, they are strong enough to survive the average fall without shattering). Although the glass is nice and thick and solid, they are not too heavy and perfect for families. Our kids can handle them and so can adults. We did have one break but, in all fairness, it fell from the top of a second floor stairway onto a Mexican tile floor. All the rest of our glases have held up just fine and have survived numerous falls fcrom tv trays and tables. If you don't want to keep replacing your glasses every few months, this is the set to have.

1-0 out of 5 stars One word to describe this set...Junk!!
These are absolutely worthless. If you like extremely poor quality rusty knives go ahead.I am throwing mine in the trash right after I finish this review.I will never buy another Sabatier product after this.

3-0 out of 5 stars NOT THE BEST _ BUT IT CUTS
Well if your just the average person who, expects a knife to cut, you don't want to spend hundreds of dollars on a more upscale product or like in my case I get tired of things right away and don't want it forever, then yes it's an okay set. They are very light in weight. They feel very Cheap. Sometimes you get what you pay for. I would not give this as a gift.

Before I bought these I read through every single review.I took the plunge.I am a chef, and wanted something for our second home, not too expensive.Well, there must be two different sets going out, because mine is FABULOUS.Not a spot of rust, and they have sat in water for a long time, as well as gone through the dishwasher numerous times. The first time I used the butcher knife, I nearly sliced my fingertip off, and that was when I accidentally touched it.They stay VERY sharp, the block is attractive, and the steak knives alone are worth the money.Buy this.I have purchased a set for a friend, and am about to purchase another. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Sharp, hefty, easy to use
I've always preferred hand-operated can openers to electric; they take up less space in the kitchen, work just as well (if not better), and open cans without that annoying grinding noise. When my old faithful can opener became dull, I shopped around for a new one and settled on this KitchenAid model. The main reason I chose it was because it felt good in my hand - heavy enough to feel sturdy, but balanced enough not to feel as though I'm wielding a club.It cuts through cans the first time with a smooth turning mechanism. The gripping handles, while thicker than most, are not too large for small hands. The windmill handle is substantial as well, allowing for a good grip that doesn't cut into the hands.

Although I chose this can opener for its heft, I like it because it does its job well, with a sharp cutting wheel and an easy-to-use design.Oh yeah.It also looks great.

5-0 out of 5 stars The best there is!
If you're looking to outfit your kitchen with the best, be sure to add this one to the list because it will be the last one you'll ever need.I originally wanted this as a backup to my electric one but it comes out of the drawer more and more often! It's heavy, making it easier to open those huge cans, and the dial just turns so easily it's like cutting soft butter. You just can't miss on this one!

5-0 out of 5 stars Better than an electric...
This is by far the best can opener I've used in fifty-some years of opening cans. After the first time I used it I retired my old electric to the garbage. The thick handles feel solid and give you a good grip.It cuts through cans like butter.I'm thinking about buying a second one just in case something ever happens to the one I've got.I've had it for about three years and had no problems of any kind.I don't remember if the instructions said you could put it in the dishwasher.I never have because I've wanted to preserve the cutting mechanisms in their superior state. It's easy enough to wash by hand. It's so good I've given it as gifts which says a lot about something so mundane as a can opener.

Apparently there exists a lesser model. This is the one you buy alone and which has stainless steel on the handle.

I gave this as a gift and the person who uses it absoultley loves it.She uses the pots and pans every day and threw away all her old stuff. It has been over a year and it still looks like new.I wish I could get another set for myself.

5-0 out of 5 stars No Caomplaints thus far
I have had this set for a couple of weeks and so far so good. Nothing has stuck to them and they are a breeze to clean. I just have to remind myself not to use metal with them.

3-0 out of 5 stars Average Set (3.5 stars)
I'm not a huge fan of Sabatier kitchen tools, mostly because of this set.It makes a good set for someone just starting out who has no cookware, and needs a bunch of inexpensive stuff right away. This isn't a set that lasts for a long time.

The pots and pans are nicely sized and they are anodized aluminum with a nonstick coating, which is helpful.Makes cooking and cleaning up afterwards quick and easy. The handles are nice and stay pretty cool - good for me, since I tend to burn myself a lot in the kitchen!Just make sure you only use nonstick or nylon utensils with this set, the pans scrape and scratch VERY easily.

Another thing to be careful of with the pans - while the pans can go in the oven at over 700 degrees, the lids can't go in over 480 degrees!

While I think this is a decent set, there are many other sets out there with higher quality items in the same price range. If this one is on sale, it might be worth purchasing - but definitely shop around before committing! ... Read more

I love these cutting boards -- clean up a breeze too. Rock solid quality boards won't slid when you use them. Quick cleanup. And unlike the wood boards, these won't get "greenish" -- since they're make of plastic. I used a coupon from UnderTag.com, so it was almost free for me.

3-0 out of 5 stars It rust real fast.
One week after I got this, I lended this to my friend and he returned that to me in 2 days, and I could see rust on the hammer and the screws. They rust in less than 2 weeks.Don't know who to blame, my friend or the product?

3-0 out of 5 stars It's cheap, but you get what you pay for.
Heck, it's not a serious tool set, but it is a good all-in-one need-something-for-the-apartment set. The downfall of all the tool-sets is that if you break a tool or lose a tool, you can't find a replacement to fit in the exact blow-molded spot.
HINT:buy the tool set and then go to your local hardware store and pick up a cheap toolbox to store the tools in.This way, you will be able to augment, change, replace your tools over time without behind stuck with the cheasy case.

4-0 out of 5 stars I don't need anything more
This coffee maker has served me well. I've owned it for almost 2 years and altho we don't drink coffee every day, it gets used 2-4 times per week. The carafe is a tad difficult to seat properly but once you understand that it fits only one way, you get used to it. The top sometimes drips water onto the counter after it has brewed, from condensation. I like the non-drip spout on the carafe and the programable pre-set feature. I would recommend it, especially for the price.

1-0 out of 5 stars A week old and bound for the rubbbish bin
Oh my god, what junk. It spits, it sputters, it belches steam like a decrepit clothes iron. The heating element ticks nonstop; I can hear its staccato ticking and clicking all the way in the living room. It's annoying as hell but more than that, it's disconcerting. Is it on the verge of shorting out? Will it catch fire, set the kitchen ablaze? Gives a whole new meaning to the phrase "coffee nerves."

What's more, and this really pissed me off, the Pause-&-Serve feature works ONLY if you remove the carafe (which is supposed to activate the pause it but doesn't), stick your finger in the streaming hot coffee, and manually and forcibly depress the pause button. Even then it pauses only a second, IF you're lucky. So to avoid a mess you take hold of that carafe and hurry like a madman to pour--slopping coffee all over the place--but you needn't have bothered because right away coffee's streaming down, bubbling and boiling and cooking on the burner. Without wiping up the spill you jam the carafe back in place (what else are you going to do?--it won't stop) where of course it starts to scorch and smell. Now I ask you: what do you look forward to smelling while your morning coffee is abrew? Brewing coffee by any chance? You'd be out of luck with this machine. Today it produced an odor that was like a mix of burning plastic and cat pee.

Finally, whether you pour hurriedly or with the utmost care, the crummy carafe always makes a mess. It leaked every time I tipped it to a cup.

The Black & Decker DCM2000W SmartBrew Coffeemaker is so junky it would be overpriced if they gave them away. For the discriminating but frugal coffee maker consumer, Proctor Silex's 46801 Simply Coffee Coffee Maker does a wonderful job and costs $5 less--it's a humble, unfancy workhorse that doesn't spit or sputter, has a perfectly functional stop-and-pour, a well-designed carafe, and it brews a delicious pot of coffee every time. I was frankly amazed at the quality for the price. When the carafe slipped out of my hand and broke the other day, I thought I couldn't wait a week for a replacement to ship. I dashed to Target, meaning to buy another Silex of the same model, but none was in stock. So I brought this lousy B&D home instead. It's bad enough that that's twenty bucks I might as well have put through the paper shredder (nope, the receipt is long gone), but what's worse than the wasted money is that Black & Decker has somehow seen fit to put their ostensibly good name on a substandard product. They offer it for sale as if it were a viable piece of equipment in working order. It does NOT work. Right out of the box it does not work. That's unethical.

So until I can afford to invest in a pricey Bunn, Proctor Silex has my grateful and devoted "cheapie" coffee maker business. And you know, I have to wonder if the vaunted Bunn would really make a significantly better cup of coffee than the Silex. Somehow I doubt it.

1-0 out of 5 stars Poor quality
Our first Black & Decker coffee maker didn't even last a year. . . the water pump stopped working. We took it back to Wal-Mart for a replacement and was sorely disappointed that the new Black & Decker carafe dripped no matter how careful or slowly we poured. It's strange because it looked like the same design as the last one which didn't leak.Back to Wal-Mart for our money back. Now we are wondering if there is a coffee maker out there that can make a good, hot cup of coffee that is convenient, easy to use & clean, drip free and still reasonably priced. Also bought a Black & Decker iron that leaks like a sieve.Perhaps B & D needs to go back to the drawing board and design products that are leak proof! ... Read more

    Editorial Review

This smaller version of George Foreman's famous "as seen on TV" Lean Mean Fat-Reducing Grilling Machine is perfect for preparing quick, low-fat meals for one or two people. The double-sided grill surface heats in less than five minutes to an even temperature perfect for grilling most foods. The high grill grooves and slight angle allow fat to run off the grill as food cooks, and the nonstick surface requires little or no additional fat for cooking. The plastic, grooved spatula works well to scrape off any bits that may have stuck to the surface.

Meats and fish are the obvious choices to take advantage of the Grilling Machine's fat-reduced grilling, but vegetables and tofu dogs work well too. The double-sided grill means food cooks twice as fast, leaves attractive grill marks, and generates surprisingly little smoke. --Julija Gelazis ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Don't waste your money on this - buy a convection oven
I agree completely with Mr. Charles Tsen.Every thing he has written about this grill is right.I had the misfortune of buying this after reading all the hype about this useless appliance.I bougth it more than a year ago and promised myself that i would never use it again. It is ridiculosuly difficult to clean and you simply will never get the desired results. For all those people looking to get a great fat reducing machine, I would recommend that they should consider "Nesco American Harvest JS-4000TE Jet Stream Oven" from Amazon or any other site.I have been using this convection oven for the past 6-7 years and am extremely satisfied. One tip in prolonging the life of this convection oven is to use a fresh paper towel on the tray to absorb all the fat before using it.

5-0 out of 5 stars This grill is a Champ
Quick heat up means a quick meal. As a busy single,I find that I can put a potato in the microwave, plug in the grill, preheat, put the meat on the grill and be ready by the time the potato is cooked and a vegetable is put together.Clean up is simple thanks to the nonstick coating. I cook everything, including eggplant on this grill. It is a definite necessity in my kitchen.

5-0 out of 5 stars George Foreman where have you been all my life??
This is such an awesome little piece of kit and have recommended it to so many people! My five star review i guess also takes into condideration the price we paid. We go this when it was reduced to $14.99 and I doubt that, pound for pound, you could get a better kitchen gadget for that price.

As I had previously seen this on tv infomercials I was a little sceptical as I always am of these "gadgets", but this really has changed our kitchen lives. It heats up so fast and cooks very quickly and evenly (due to it cooking both sides at once). We really love the speed - its great to know that in four/five minutes you can have a perfect tuna-stek or porkchop without having to fire up the oven. It also frees up the oven to cook other things for your meal.

Its just big enough to cook two chicken breasts or two burgers, a porkchop or steak. But it can also be used for sausage links, bacon, vegetables and grilled cheese sandwiches.

Some people have mentioned they have real problems cleaning it up. Whilst yes it could be better but you literally just scrape off any excess and wipe it down. If you dont want to have to do that then you need to buy the one with removable plates but it would have cost us three times as much.

Be warned thought that the fat-collecting drip tray shouldnt be put in the dishwasher - we did and it melted part of it. ... Read more

This toaster is first of all not deep enough that even a standard size bread slice can fit in. To top that, the exterior gets burning hot just toasting once. Thirdly, the rest of the bread keeps popping out without being toasted at all because the toaster is hot. Therefore it doesn't serve any purpose at all. ... Read more

This pitcher combines Brita's reliable filtering with a very convenient narrow shape and flip-top lid for easy refills. To operate, simply flip the lid and fill the water reservoir, then wait a couple of minutes for it to filter through. The filter used with this system has been certified by NSF International, a testing authority for water filtration products, and reduces copper and eliminates 99% of lead in tap water. Using activated carbon as well as an ion exchange resin, it also reduces chlorine, bad tastes, odors, and sediment--making it a lot easier to drinkthe recommended eight glasses of water a day. It comes with one filter, lasting approximately two months, and the pitcher is clear with a white top. --Maria Dolan ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars nifty
This is such a cool gadget! You just fill the top with water, and it does the rest for you. The water isn't quite superior to bottled water, but even the nastiest tap water is transformed when filtered this way, and you do eventually become accustomed to the taste.

Considering how much money this will save you on bottled water, it's definitely worth the small splurge. Even though I got mine at a thrift store for three bucks, but still.

5-0 out of 5 stars I LOVE BRITA!
I am a water FANATIC.. and I have to have water that tastes good since it is the main liquid I drink. Brita is way less expensive than buying bottled water, and as another reviewer said.. the plastic bottles can sometime contaminate the water they hold. BRITA filters out some of those contaminates. Besides all that, BRITA water tastes great. I give it 5 stars, and hope that you like it as much as I do.It does fill slow, and when its gone, you have to fill it up, and wait for it to get cold.. and that can take forever. I have one room-mate, and between he and I the pitcher was always empty. So if you are going to get one, get one that holds alot of water.. you will not be sorry. And if you are worried about cost, think about how much you spend onfor bottled water. I was drinking about 4 a week and then some.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good alternative
This is a good alternative but has its drawbacks.I think a britta sink/faucet model would be more convenient but my faucet is not set up for one.The water from this pitcher tastes very good and I use it for my coffee which allows me to not buy filters for the pot...however....a full pitcher is just under a full pot of coffee and the refilling of the britta is very slow. (The re-fill rate seems to decrease as the filter gets older) Something to consider if you will be bringing the pitcher to the dinner table for a family...You really cant pour it till its done filtering. The filters are fairly expensive but less than buying bottled water.I also findthe pitcher to be a bit heavy and the lid delicate. altho it has not broken i can see that that might be a problem...This is a good alternative to a faucet model or bottled water but it isnt without its drawbacks. ... This multipurpose tool created a stir in the kitchen when it came out, as the food processor did a generation earlier. In order to blend, whip, and chop smaller amounts of ingredients, it's no longer necessary to wrestle with bulky appliances. Immerse the 7-1/2-inch blender shaft, with its little blade on the end, into a pot where vegetables have been simmering, press the switch, and in seconds a creamy soup appears--with no need to dump everything into a big blender. Blend sauces and baby foods in their cooking pots, too. Blend a milk shake or juice drink right in its drinking container, or in the 2-1/2-cup beaker included in this set. Whipping cream and egg whites is just as convenient: a 5-inch whisk attaches to the motor when the blender is removed. For chopping nuts, herbs, garlic, or onions, there's a 2-cup chopper bowl with a special blade. The motor with the attached blender shaft can be mounted on a wall (mount included). Everything but the motor and the chopper-bowl top (both should be wiped with a damp cloth) can go into the dishwasher. This tool is more than handy, it's a revolution. The instruction sheet, unfortunately, is harder to comprehend than the tool is to use. --Fred Brack ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars I'm ready to get a third!
I live for my Braun handblenders.I use it most often to make refried beans and also for all kinds of soups.I keep kosher so I have one for dairy and one for meat and I'm planning to get one for passover. This is a must have for every person who hates to clean up the food processor or the blender. It cuts prep time to a bare minimum..

5-0 out of 5 stars My favorite kitchen tool
This is the best kitchen tool anyone could own.It is small, and therefore easy to store. It is also easy to clean.

I have used mine to puree soups, applesauce, make smoothies, beat eggs, make pesto and baby food. With the attachments, I have ground coffee beans, whole spices, ground nuts, cake mixes and more!

Very versatile, very affordable, easy-to-clean, easy-to-store...what more could you ask for?

4-0 out of 5 stars Handy... but not so easy on the hands
The Braun Multiquick 430 HC consists of a motor housing with cord that twist-locks into a blending attachment. It can also lock into a whisk attachment, or the top portion of a mini-chopper. It includes a two-cup plastic measuring cup as well, sized and shaped so that you can use the blender to blend small amounts of liquids in it.

While you need to wipe off the motor housing by hand, the lock-on attachments are dishwasher-safe. (Our last immersion blender was one-piece and not dishwasher-safe, so this is a real bonus!) Because of the way the blender attachment is shaped, with the plastic housing circling the blade, you don't have to worry that the blade will get banged around and dulled on the dishwasher rack.

With enough use the blades will eventually dull, of course, and we use ours quite a bit. But until then they work wonders, easily pureeing soups of all kinds. The chopper attachment is surprisingly effective, and I've used it to chop small amounts of herbs into confetti in split seconds. It's also very easy to assemble, use, de-assemble, and wash in the dishwasher--easier than a mini-prep food processor.

The whisk is a handy attachment, and the multiquick does have enough power to produce whipped cream, although it takes more time than it does with a full-power two-beater hand mixer. However, there isn't a lot of feedback from the whisk--it has just enough give that it's hard to tell when it's pushing up against a bowl, so I'm always a little worried that I'm going to damage it inadvertently.

The one real problem this item has for me is the on-button. It isn't very sensitive; it requires a firm push, it's easy to accidentally let up on it, and it takes some amount of force to keep it pushed in. I have tendonitis, so this can be pretty hard on my hands if I'm not mixing or chopping a very small amount of materials. It would be nice if it had either a real "on" switch, or a more sensitive button. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Keep shopping...
I bought this phone about 8 months ago after a thunderstorm killed my Uniden.Given the similarity of the menu options, I suspect the AT&T and Uniden models are actually made by the same OEM.

First, a rant:this phone (and the Uniden before it) has a "remote access" mode whereby you can control the answering machine remotely (listen to/delete messages, change greetings, etc). This mode is protected by a very weak 2-digit numeric code.First, it's unforgiveable to use such a weak code.Secondly, there doesn't appear to be a way to disable remote access!Bad.

Anyway, At 8 months, the phone is showing signs of failure.Beginning last week, the phone has stopped receiving callerid information. It merely displays ***RINGING***.Similarly, the call activity LED on the AT&T base console no longer flashes when a call has been received.Looking at some of the other reviews, it seems that my problems are not unique.

I think I paid $50 for this phone but whatever it was, it was too much given that it has lasted less than a year. For comparison, my other phone is a $7 no-name Wal*Mart special (it too has callerid and call activity LED).It has yet to miss a beat.

My recommendation to potential buyers is to keep looking.

5-0 out of 5 stars GREAT phone
I bought this phone on sale about 5 months ago at Walmart for $25! Best phone I ever had. It will stay charged for days at a time! I'm serious, I've left it off the hook to test it a few times. It never dies in under 5 days. The sound is great. You can adjust the volume about 5 different notches. With other phones, I was always struggling to hear the person on the other end but I've had no problems with this phone. It's pleasing on the eyes, holds tons of numbers and is simple to operate. You get a choice of 3 differnet rings and of course, all the obvious things like caller ID, an answering machine, etc. I'm not sure why mostly everyone else here has rated this product so low. I LOVE it! :)

1-0 out of 5 stars Keep shoping for another cordless phone.
I bought this model a little over a year ago, and I've had nothing but problems.Fortunately, AT&T will replace the defective phone while it is under warranty, this is the only good thing about this phone; so far I'm on my third phone and it's just now going on the fritz. Here are the problems I've had: The original phone I purchased stoped recharging because the contacts corroded.Customer service sent me a replacement and within a month the caller ID box stopped displaying incoming calls on the replacement, the caller ID box would just read "ringing" when a call came in.After another call to customer service I received my third, which no longer holds a charge because the handset slides forward in the base unit. All and all, I would never recommend buying this product (not even to my worst enemy), but the one good thing is the manufacturers warranty renews itself with every replacement...at this rate I'll get a new phone every few months for life. ...
