2-0 out of 5 stars Velcro delimma
The SECOND time I removed the iPAQ from the case the Velcro stuck to the case and would not stick to the iPAQ again. What do you do then?Without Velcro, the case does not serve its purpose - or the hand held bounces around inside.I have contacted Sumdex, but have not heard from them yet.Velcro is great but....

5-0 out of 5 stars Great little case
I have a URThere @migo, and this case fits it perfectly. It's still small enough to slip in my pocket, plus now there's a handy belt clip when I need it. Velcro rocks.

5-0 out of 5 stars Works Well with Sharp Zaurus
The size of this case is perfect, just slightly bigger than the Zaurus, and it provides good access to the keyboard and the CF/SD slots. With the belt strap, it is quite convenient to carry, and I can also fit my Targus CF Modem into the case. The Zaurus attaches within this case with velcro. So it is removable, and even with the velcro on the back of the Zaurus, it fits into its cradle just fine. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Don't Buy this at any price
The software often picks route 100's of miles out of the way for no reason. You cannot pick your own route at all.The Navman 12v connector is VERY weak.Mine broke within a few days. The GPS pulls the Palm's battery down in no time at all - 2 or 3 hours.Navman's web site states the 12v cord powers the Palm too - not so according to their tech support.I have recently purchased a Magellan gold handheld GPS that works great.I can even drive Delorme software on the Palm from the Magellan.DON'T BUY THIS THING!

4-0 out of 5 stars GPS great / Software terrible
4 stars since the included SW is so terrible.I bought "Delorme Street Atlas USA 2004 Handheld" to run on my M125.Works great.
Navman does tend to eat batteries, but what Palm add-on doesn't.
Original SW was so bad, it couldn't catch up driving down the road.I had to pull over to let it catch up so I could turn the Palm off.

GPS module works great, but included SW will make you mad.

5-0 out of 5 stars Don't know what these other users are complaining about!
I think this is fantastic! The only down side that I can think of is having to upload your trips beforehand. But that is a limitation of the handheld, not this device. I took a trip from Upstate NY through Philly to the Jerey shore. And back. Another trip to Washington DC. This performed flawlessly for what it was designed to be. Beeped a little before my turns or exchanges. Tracked pretty well and only lost signal a couple times, ony to regain it moments later. I bought this along with a rebate and the deal was great. I recently bought the laptop version as well. That is how much I like this item. Unless you are nitpicky or expecting something this is not, you'll be pleased. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Loose and flimsy pins in the socket
I am disappointed with this charger. On a recent overseas trip, the flimsy and weak clip twisted and came loose and I was unable to use the charger for my Tungsten C Palm.Very disppointing and poorly disgned accessory for the Palm.I am planning to contact Palm and ask for a refund or a replacement.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great product!
I am 40 yo professional woman with a palm 130.I originally bought this poduct as a TRAVEL charger ONLY.I was a little put off by reviews saying it was flimsy, etc. But I was feeling desperate to find something smaller than the large charger which plugs into my computer.I just received my charger, and I am impressed. It is small, lightweight, holds my palm securely, and fully charges in about 2.5 hrs.It has now replaced my regular charger (which I use to back up into my computer about once a week). For my palm 130, this is an indispensible item - even if you don't travel!Oh, the travel bag is convenient for storing it all in one place when I'm on the go and fumbling around in my suitcase to find it!

5-0 out of 5 stars YES it works fine in Russia
This palm Tungsten charger works fine in Russia. I use it and the 220v euro plug adapter (the two round pin one). Ive never had a problem charging my Tungsten C with it! Save room in your luggage and just bring the plug adapter you need. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Fussy- poor design
The cradle is very finicky. The fit is not very tight and I have to press down on the top of the palm pilot to ensure the contacts are touching. Plus, it has it's own power plug AND the USB connection. I'd recommend the USB cable instead. It connects snugly, easily and is only one thing to plug in, plus very reliable long term. Charges fast too. This cradle just fell short all the way around.

1-0 out of 5 stars cradle not compatible with tungsten !!!!
The fact the cradle was listed as compatible, but was not was a great disapointment for me. I shop at amazon often and have had good results till now. Maybe it would be better to goa retail store to purchase these types items.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not compatible with Tungsten E!
I can't comment on the quality of the cradle but I have one comment. I ordered the cradle as it was listed as an accessory for the Tungsten E. However, it does not fit into the cradle and Palm doesn't seem to currently produce one compatible with it. Just want to warn others so you don't have the hassle of having to send it back. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Mac OS X 10.2+ driver found!
The missing driver that makes this piece of work, well, work on Mac OS X 10.2.+ can be found here:
    http://www.sakarhelp.com/support/select.php?step=3&category_id=2&subcategory_id=8&product_id=60446

5-0 out of 5 stars Amazing! Works with eTrex GPS, Street Atlas 6 and Mac OS X
Switching over to Mac OS X (10.2) from OS 9 was fearful because I thought there was no GPS supported mapping application in OS X.

Well, to my complete surprise, with the eTrex GPS connected to the iConcepts USB-Serial adapter, Street Atlas 6.0 running in Classic mode found the GPS and is more stable than in OS 9.2.2!
I am not sure which driver is being used - the native OS X driver or the OS 9 Extension - I am guessing it is the OS X (10.2) native driver since I have extensions turned off for Classic.

The adapter is smaller in profile than others and is much cheaper - so buy a couple.

4-0 out of 5 stars Works fine in Mac OS X 10.2.x
Once you get the latest driver from the sakar web site (go to the support section), you'll be fine for mac os x 10.2.x.

the version of the driver that came in the package was too old (version 1.0.3), but the version 1.0.6 driver from the support web site made it work like a champ. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Reliable Connection
Ever since Palm began releasing modem products for their PDAs, having one as a backup connectivity device has been a priority for me.

Sure you can do a litle web surfing but that is not its' true calling or intention.Checking your eMail is what this modem is all about and where it shines like the true star it is.Setup is easy and the supplied software is not the best but will get you where you want to go.

Battery life is great and that makes it always a good device to carry along on any business trip.

3-0 out of 5 stars A not so good Internet connection
Well, it is very useful if you use it to download emails or send them while on the road, but.. If you want to surf the web for a long time... I do not reccomend it, it disconnects after a determinate amount of time. I prefer a wireless option, that is, using your cell phone as an wireless modem, this way it doesn't matter how much time you spend online...

3-0 out of 5 stars PalmModem Connectivity Kit in question.
To use the Palm Modem you have to belong or sign up for unlimited service to: AT&T, Compuserve, Earthlink, PSINet or if networked at work, Unix Verio Windows NT RAS server.

When connecting to the Avantgo.com, the modem will sync to the site for just download enough informtion for the e-mails or web site. It appears in order to go to another web clipping, the modem has to re-connect, which seems like a hassle.

However, for limited internet usage, and could also be used for stock market symbols, the modem will connect to the web clipping and then shut off.

The modem has limited uses and is only a land line with no wireless use. The modem also uses 2 tripple A batteries, without recharable option. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Not a winner
First of all, this was very overpackaged. I got a 12 inch x 9 x 4 box for a 4 inch tall product that wasn't even breakable.

My main complaint is that, unlike the misleading picture above, the protectors dont cover the whole screen. I have about a half a centimeter gap at the top of my m130, and a small gap around the other edges. I suppose they could improve your handwriting, but all they do is make your stylus move slower. There are little bubbles all over the screen, and the credit card-like thing they give you to smooth them out doesn't even fit your palm correctly, and doesn't work well. In under a minute of writing, the screen was already very scratched up.

Unless you are loosing sleep over your palm screen or having problems with people putting their fingers on it, I wouldn't recommend buying these (they are also very overpriced).

1-0 out of 5 stars Cheap price, cheap film
This flimsy film bubbles up and makes the screen fuzzy.Stay away and don't waste your money.

5-0 out of 5 stars Works fine!!
These screen savers work just fine, and this is by far the best price out there with out sacrificing quality. Highly recommend!! ... Read more

PalmOne Portable Keyboard for Palm m125, m130, i705, and m500 Series Handhelds
Average Customer Review: 4.5 out of 5 stars
    Electronics

    Editorial Review

It's always a wonderful feeling when gadgets work seamlessly and live up to their plug-and-play promise. The Palm portable keyboard is such a gadget. It's possibly the best hardware add-on for Palm devices currently on the market: it installs easily and helps you increase your Palm productivity.

Installation of the Keyboard application onto the Palm handheld is easily accomplished during a typical HotSync. (To prepare the app for HotSync, simply add it to the Install Tool on Windows, or the Install Handheld Files in the Mac HotSync Manager.)

Once the app was installed we were ready for testing at a meeting. We sauntered in and unfolded the keyboard in a flourish--clicking it open from its folded position, laying it flat, sliding the keyboard parts together (it's broken into thirds for folding), and attaching our m500 in a matter of seconds. The attendees at the meeting were suitably wide-eyed and impressed with our James Bondian device. (This model of the Palm portable keyboard also accommodates Palm m125, m130, i705, and other m500 series handhelds.)

But the Palm portable keyboard is more than a flashy toy--it's a productivity juggernaut that has some of the best keyboard action we've ever experienced. The keys are not soft and mushy like other keyboards we've tested for handhelds. Instead, they're a bit on the tight side but with a lot of give. Also, the more we used the keyboard, the more we found ourselves shying away from tapping the screen to navigate or to perform actions such as switching applications or opening up the details section of a Memo or Address Book contact. With the Palm keyboard, you can do virtually all your work without taking your fingers off the keyboard.

The keyboard includes custom buttons for the built-in Palm applications (Date Book, Address, To Do List, and Memo Pad). Several keys have added functions, such as the ability to open up the Apps screen, scroll through a screen, or turn on the backlight. You can also customize your own shortcuts list of applications loaded onto your Palm handheld. This is done using the Keyboard app, and you can assign the number keys 1 through 9 (but not 0). After making our designations, pressing Cmd+1 immediately took us to our favorite diversion--YahtC--during a lull in our meeting.

All told, we have nothing but praise for the Palm portable keyboard, not just for the ease of inputting text but also for changing the way we use our Palm handheld. Since we started using the keyboard, we now often travel without any laptop, confident that any degree of writing or note taking during meetings can be handled by our Palm alone. (It should also be noted that we typed this review on our m500 while sitting comfortably at our local coffee shop.) If you are a heavy Palm user, the Palm portable keyboard is an essential and very cool tool. --Agen G.N. Schmitz

5-0 out of 5 stars Palm Key board
I never really used my palm until I bought this key board. It is great I use it all the time now.The keyboard was like new and works great.

5-0 out of 5 stars Love it!!
I really like this item.I like it for school a lot. When I do my reports it is a very cool tool to have. The shortcuts are cool too.

5-0 out of 5 stars I love this!
I have had my Palm for about 2 years and bought a keyboard when it was only a couple of months old. I took that one back because it was sold without software. I decided not to buy another one because I didn't want to have to run up to the computer store again.

I'm a journalist, so I'm using my Palm daily now and am always having to pull up the keyboard on the screen. This get's a be a pain when I'm writing a list of interview questions or writing down who I talked to or emailed in a contact log.

The keyboard took less than 5 minutes to install, pop in the CD and add the keyboard will be installed next time you sync your Palm with the PC.I was shocked that it really was that simple.

When I finally have to replace my Palm, I'm definitely going to get another keyboard. This one saves me so much time. ... Read more

    Editorial Review

Palm's m130 enters the handheld market as one of the least expensive color units available. Basically a colorized version of the earlier m125, the m130's bright backlit screen displays 58,621 colors on its 160 x 160 pixel screen.

It also boasts an 8 MB memory with an expansion slot that accepts both MultiMediaCard (MMC) and Secure Digital (SD) cards for adding both memory and special applications. The SD card slot will also connect to SDIO (Secure Digital Input/Output) devices, including Bluetooth cards for wireless connectivity, and upcoming peripherals like digital cameras and bar code scanners.

You can also attach peripherals to the base of the unit via the Palm Universal Connector, which enables you to use the m130 with keyboards, modems, and GPS receivers that are also compatible with the i700 and m500 series handhelds.

The universal connector is where the handheld meets up with its USB cradle, which not only serves to sync up the m130, but to recharge its lithium-ion battery as well. On the highest setting (you can drop it down a notch in well-lit environments), the display backlight sucks juice at a moderate rate. But since the battery recharges at each sync-up, it's not much of an issue. Even if you run out of battery life and your m130 shuts down, you have about a week to recharge it before you lose the data on your Palm.

Nicely contoured, with an attachable faceplate that flips up (letting you play Captain Kirk and Dr. Spock, if you're so inclined), the 5.4-ounce m130 rests solidly in your left hand with the right manipulating its standard buttons and screen with the stylus. One complaint we did have with the m130: at the edges, the screen doesn't appear to be as sensitive as in the middle and it can sometimes require a repeat tap with the stylus before it registers.

In addition to the standard Palm Desktop software, the m130's impressive handheld software bundle includes Palm Reader (for taking e-books along with your Palm), DataViz's Documents To Go (for viewing and editing Word and Excel files; Windows users can also view and edit PowerPoint documents), and MGI PhotoSuite Mobile Edition (for viewing images and videos on the full-color screen).

An IR port on the top of the m130 lets you beam contact information, such as your business card, or even an application, to another similarly equipped handheld.

An inexpensive color handheld with a decent amount of memory and lots of room for growth, the m130 makes a great PDA for users looking to add color to their portable world. --J. Curtis

1-0 out of 5 stars Worst customer service for a bad product
I would have given this -10 stars if I could.I had mine for less than 90 days when it just wouldn't turn on.This happened around Christmas, so I couldn't contact them until after the 90 days was up.When I contacted them, they wanted to charge me to talk to them on the phone and wanted me to pay $100 to have it repaired. It took me 2 1/2 months to get them to finally fix it for free.1 month later, I finally got a refurbished one mailed back to me.(They also kept my cover that noone told me to remove)Then about 3 months later, the one that they sent to me died. When I contacted the company again, they said it would cost $100 to fix it.When I complained, the man that I spoke with told me he could give me 1/2 off another one.I then gave their customer service a bad review. No one ever contacted me.This is the worst piece of junk and the company that makes it is even worse. They don't care about making a product that is good, and they don't care about making the customer happy. Also when you call customer service, you can't get anyone in America.I would steer clear of this product.

I bought my Palm M130 less than a year ago and it was great. Then one day it wouldn't turn on.I hit the reset button and it was fine for a few months. Then recently it wouldn't turn on again.I tried resetting it in different ways and no luck. Now i have a dead palm and all my phone numbers and calender info are stuck in my work computer!i wouldn't bother buying this product as i am sure it will die on you too :(

3-0 out of 5 stars Decent PDA with all basic features
I bought this Palm back in December 2002, and so far it has never let me down. Okay, the PDAs standards have developed a lot, but the basic features of this device remain useful: calendar, address book, and the Docs to go.
I am now giving thoughts to get an state-of-the-art PDA, but the bad reviews I've read here at Amazon regarding the Tungsten Chave make me think about moving to a smartphone, perhaps Sony Eriksson P900... ... Read more
