iConcepts PDA USB Adapter Average Customer Review: Electronics list price: $39.99 US | Canada | United Kingdom | Germany | France Features Reviews (18)
Well, to my complete surprise, with the eTrex GPS connected to the iConcepts USB-Serial adapter, Street Atlas 6.0 running in Classic mode found the GPS and is more stable than in OS 9.2.2! The adapter is smaller in profile than others and is much cheaper - so buy a couple.
the version of the driver that came in the package was too old (version 1.0.3), but the version 1.0.6 driver from the support web site made it work like a champ. ... Read more Asin: B00005V9BQ |

Sure you can do a litle web surfing but that is not its' true calling or intention.Checking your eMail is what this modem is all about and where it shines like the true star it is.Setup is easy and the supplied software is not the best but will get you where you want to go. Battery life is great and that makes it always a good device to carry along on any business trip.
When connecting to the Avantgo.com, the modem will sync to the site for just download enough informtion for the e-mails or web site. It appears in order to go to another web clipping, the modem has to re-connect, which seems like a hassle. However, for limited internet usage, and could also be used for stock market symbols, the modem will connect to the web clipping and then shut off. The modem has limited uses and is only a land line with no wireless use. The modem also uses 2 tripple A batteries, without recharable option. ... Read more Asin: B00005B6S3 |

iConcepts Screen Protectors for Palm m100 series (12 Pack) Average Customer Review: Electronics list price: $14.99 US | Canada | United Kingdom | Germany | France Features Reviews (4)
My main complaint is that, unlike the misleading picture above, the protectors dont cover the whole screen. I have about a half a centimeter gap at the top of my m130, and a small gap around the other edges. I suppose they could improve your handwriting, but all they do is make your stylus move slower. There are little bubbles all over the screen, and the credit card-like thing they give you to smooth them out doesn't even fit your palm correctly, and doesn't work well. In under a minute of writing, the screen was already very scratched up. Unless you are loosing sleep over your palm screen or having problems with people putting their fingers on it, I wouldn't recommend buying these (they are also very overpriced).

PalmOne Portable Keyboard for Palm m125, m130, i705, and m500 Series Handhelds Average Customer Review: Electronics list price: $99.99 US | Canada | United Kingdom | Germany | France Editorial Review It's always a wonderful feeling when gadgets work seamlessly and live up to their plug-and-play promise. The Palm portable keyboard is such a gadget. It's possibly the best hardware add-on for Palm devices currently on the market: it installs easily and helps you increase your Palm productivity. Installation of the Keyboard application onto the Palm handheld is easily accomplished during a typical HotSync. (To prepare the app for HotSync, simply add it to the Install Tool on Windows, or the Install Handheld Files in the Mac HotSync Manager.) Once the app was installed we were ready for testing at a meeting. We sauntered in and unfolded the keyboard in a flourish--clicking it open from its folded position, laying it flat, sliding the keyboard parts together (it's broken into thirds for folding), and attaching our m500 in a matter of seconds. The attendees at the meeting were suitably wide-eyed and impressed with our James Bondian device. (This model of the Palm portable keyboard also accommodates Palm m125, m130, i705, and other m500 series handhelds.) But the Palm portable keyboard is more than a flashy toy--it's a productivity juggernaut that has some of the best keyboard action we've ever experienced. The keys are not soft and mushy like other keyboards we've tested for handhelds. Instead, they're a bit on the tight side but with a lot of give. Also, the more we used the keyboard, the more we found ourselves shying away from tapping the screen to navigate or to perform actions such as switching applications or opening up the details section of a Memo or Address Book contact. With the Palm keyboard, you can do virtually all your work without taking your fingers off the keyboard. The keyboard includes custom buttons for the built-in Palm applications (Date Book, Address, To Do List, and Memo Pad). Several keys have added functions, such as the ability to open up the Apps screen, scroll through a screen, or turn on the backlight. You can also customize your own shortcuts list of applications loaded onto your Palm handheld. This is done using the Keyboard app, and you can assign the number keys 1 through 9 (but not 0). After making our designations, pressing Cmd+1 immediately took us to our favorite diversion--YahtC--during a lull in our meeting. All told, we have nothing but praise for the Palm portable keyboard, not just for the ease of inputting text but also for changing the way we use our Palm handheld. Since we started using the keyboard, we now often travel without any laptop, confident that any degree of writing or note taking during meetings can be handled by our Palm alone. (It should also be noted that we typed this review on our m500 while sitting comfortably at our local coffee shop.) If you are a heavy Palm user, the Palm portable keyboard is an essential and very cool tool. --Agen G.N. Schmitz Pros:

I'm a journalist, so I'm using my Palm daily now and am always having to pull up the keyboard on the screen. This get's a be a pain when I'm writing a list of interview questions or writing down who I talked to or emailed in a contact log. The keyboard took less than 5 minutes to install, pop in the CD and add the keyboard will be installed next time you sync your Palm with the PC.I was shocked that it really was that simple. When I finally have to replace my Palm, I'm definitely going to get another keyboard. This one saves me so much time. ... Read more Asin: B00005B6S6 |

PalmOne m130 Handheld Average Customer Review: Electronics list price: $199.99 US | Canada | United Kingdom | Germany | France Editorial Review Palm's m130 enters the handheld market as one of the least expensive color units available. Basically a colorized version of the earlier m125, the m130's bright backlit screen displays 58,621 colors on its 160 x 160 pixel screen. It also boasts an 8 MB memory with an expansion slot that accepts both MultiMediaCard (MMC) and Secure Digital (SD) cards for adding both memory and special applications. The SD card slot will also connect to SDIO (Secure Digital Input/Output) devices, including Bluetooth cards for wireless connectivity, and upcoming peripherals like digital cameras and bar code scanners. You can also attach peripherals to the base of the unit via the Palm Universal Connector, which enables you to use the m130 with keyboards, modems, and GPS receivers that are also compatible with the i700 and m500 series handhelds. The universal connector is where the handheld meets up with its USB cradle, which not only serves to sync up the m130, but to recharge its lithium-ion battery as well. On the highest setting (you can drop it down a notch in well-lit environments), the display backlight sucks juice at a moderate rate. But since the battery recharges at each sync-up, it's not much of an issue. Even if you run out of battery life and your m130 shuts down, you have about a week to recharge it before you lose the data on your Palm. Nicely contoured, with an attachable faceplate that flips up (letting you play Captain Kirk and Dr. Spock, if you're so inclined), the 5.4-ounce m130 rests solidly in your left hand with the right manipulating its standard buttons and screen with the stylus. One complaint we did have with the m130: at the edges, the screen doesn't appear to be as sensitive as in the middle and it can sometimes require a repeat tap with the stylus before it registers. In addition to the standard Palm Desktop software, the m130's impressive handheld software bundle includes Palm Reader (for taking e-books along with your Palm), DataViz's Documents To Go (for viewing and editing Word and Excel files; Windows users can also view and edit PowerPoint documents), and MGI PhotoSuite Mobile Edition (for viewing images and videos on the full-color screen). An IR port on the top of the m130 lets you beam contact information, such as your business card, or even an application, to another similarly equipped handheld. An inexpensive color handheld with a decent amount of memory and lots of room for growth, the m130 makes a great PDA for users looking to add color to their portable world. --J. Curtis Pros:
