Though it doesn't feature DVD burning, out-of-the-box wireless communication, or oodles of memory, the Compaq Presario 2535qv Notebook PC is otherwise a powerful mobile computer at a pleasing price point.

Measuring 13 by 10.7 by 1.8 inches and weighing 7.5 pounds, the Presario 2535qv is comfortably portable yet equipped with enough firepower to drive many applications you might normally reserve for your desktop. Compaq has loaded the unit with a 2.4 GHz Intel Pentium 4 processor, 256 MB of DDR SDRAM memory (upgradeable to 1024 MB) and an ATI Mobility Radeon graphics chipset with 64 MB of shared (not dedicated) video memory. As such, the system should suffice for all 2-D and many 3-D applications, though it would benefit from a memory upgrade (to at least 512 MB) and may have frame rate troubles when rendering ultra-complex 3-D games and animation/drawing packages.

The Presario 2535qv features several welcome amenities, including a handy 3.5-inch diskette drive, an oversized 15-inch XGA TFT display screen capable of 1024 by 768 resolution, and an 88-key keyboard with a TouchPad. At 40 GB, the integrated hard disk is certainly adequate for most purposes but may not offer enough space for true power users. The system's optical drive permits CD and DVD playing and CD recording but does facilitate the burning of DVDs.

Connectivity options include a 56K modem for low-speed Internet and email, a high-speed 10/100BASE-T Ethernet LAN for faster e-communications, a trio of USB 2.0 ports, a single IEEE 1394 port for quick data streaming with devices such as digital camcorders, and a single PC Card slot.

its ok, for the money..........
I bought this item bcos I wanted a cheap working laptop. b4 I got it , alot of my friends told me not to get a Compaq, they say it hangs all the time......kno what, it's true. The more stuff I download from online, the worse it performs.....sometimes its as slow as a PIII....the touchpad is not userfriendly at all.
But for the kind of money I paid I guess thats wat its worth, the good side bout this laptop is its not very heavy, the screen and color is very impressive.....doesnt break down any at least not yet(been usin for 6 months now) matter offact bumped it many times too........I recommend for easy people but not for picky or knowalotbout PC people. ... Die after warranty expire
I've heard a lot from reviews that the C84 will die after a year.I didn't believe and so bought one about a year ago.It was printing great.Ink goes out fast and had one full set replacement (Epson genuine).Worked fine till the one year warranty expires.Printing becomes terrible with blank strips when ink is close to empty (not empty yet).Thought that it's just because ink was low and so invested another set of expensive Epson genuine ink.That was the beginning of nightmare.Right after I replaced the whole set of ink, it just printed out blank pages.Tried cleaning head for 20 times without any improvement.Still blanks.

Got Epson tech support and they just recommend head cleaning again.Tried another 10 times.No effect.Ink was shown 20% used already by then even though nothing had been printed.Head cleaning really throw away your expensive ink but does nothing good.Finally, Epson suggested that repair is needed and the repair would cost more than a new printer.That means I have to give it up and lost my expensive genuine Epson ink investment at the same time.

Now, I have to believe those reviews that the printer dies after one year.So, if you like the Epson printer, buy it if you expect to work with it only for one year.Only replace ink if it's still printing fine.Don't ever bother to replace ink if you've got printing problems.Just junk it.

Lasted less than a year
I can't remember when it started going bad but it was less than 1 year. I keep cleaning the heads and it works for about 10 pages then they need cleaning again. I print online postage and I am always worried because lines are going through the addresses and postal amounts. Bye Bye Epson.

terrible print quality
I have had this printer for several months and can't wait for it to break down irretrievably so I have an excuse to buy another. No matter how often I run the cleaning utility, I can't get a clean printout -- pages appear with blank lines and streaks. (And no, we're not printing in draft mode, and we do keep the printer closed when not in use.) ... Read more
