4-0 out of 5 stars Good Product, Bad Company Selling It
This is a great product for people who have Sony Palm Pilots. I currently use it for my SJ 22 and it works well. My only complaint is with Amazon.com. They expected that it would take a maximum of two weeks (it was on back-order) to recieve the package then another five days to ship it. After the two weeks came and went, they sent me an e-mail saying that it would take another 1 1/2 to 2 weeks before they recieved it then four or five days before I actually recieved it. Making it a total of 1 month from the time I ordered it til the time I got it! I cancelled my order with them and purchased it through sonystyle.com (luckily I had a 25% off coupon so it was the same price as Amazon) and got it within 6 days.

5-0 out of 5 stars Now usable on CLIE SL10!
I bought this must have item for a T625C, I own a CLIE SL10 wich cannot use this item.

Well, I wanted to use the PEGA-SA10 on my CLIE so I put hands on it, after few days I get working the PEGA-SA10 on the SL10 with AudioPlayer 1.0.1, tested also avjmp3 (working perfectly but still alfa), tested AudioPlayer 2.2.x but I got troubles with the vumemeter and background music.

Wat I did basically is to install some libraries from the ROM of the T625C in my SL10.

If you like this item and you have a CLIE SL10 you can download the hack ...

With the hack you can run AudioPlayer but the adapter is needed in order to hear the music.

    Hope you enjoy.

4-0 out of 5 stars Very Good But...
This is a must have for any Clie handheld user. Except NR NX and SJ-33 ... It produces crystal clear sound and good bass without draining much energy either. And with the fact of the background music feature, this is a must have! [local website] ... Read more

Sony PEGA-GC10 Game Controller for PEG-NX, NR, T, SJ, SL Series

4-0 out of 5 stars A must-have if you play action-arcade games on your Clie.
Those of you who've played plenty of action/arcade style games on a PDA knows that the PDA buttons simply do not cut it when trying to weave your fighter plane through an onslaught of bullets or trying to make your way through a Super Mario style platformer. What's even worse is that PDA buttons are not built to take the kind of button-abuse that often comes from playing those games and can get worn out fairly quick.

I wanted to play games on my PDA without breaking the buttons so with that in mind, I decided on getting a Clie SJ33 and the GC10.The controller works very well.I've only run across a couple games that does not work well or don't work at all with the game controller and both of them work better (gameplay-wise) with the stylus control. The GC10 is a necessity if you have a Gameboy emulator on your Clie.Overall I'm very happy with my purchase.

The extra battery drain was not as big an issue as reviews from other sights led me to believe. It does drain slightly faster but only very slight and usually when it does drain quickly, it's because you're playing a game that uses a lot of power to begin with (games with lots of action) and because you're using a game controller, you're probably playing it longer too.

The extra strap is almost useless. The instructions say it's to prevent the controller from accidentally falling from PDA but the controller's grip is so good it's much more likely you'll drop the PDA before dropping the controller. The strap is useful for dangling your controller from your belt or backpack so that you can have easy access if you get the urge to play.

I have yet to find a game that supports the X/Y buttons. The instructions says they're "programmable" but I have yet to find a way to get them to work with any game. Not that big a deal since most games don't use that many buttons but it is wasted potential.

The GC10 includes a copy of Columns and some game demos. The Columns gameplay is spot on and gives you something to use the controller with right out of the box. It'll definitely give you the good feeling of using a real game control rather than the cumbersome PDA buttons. :D

Pros: Gamepad button layout, very sturdy, extra buttons for menus and going back to the main PDA screen, hold switch, securely grips your PDA so it's very unlikely to fall off, comes with free game Columns (and it's high-res!).
Cons: Does not work with all games, slightly faster battery drain, cannot charge & use controller at same time, X & Y buttons are useless, does not fit all Clies.

2-0 out of 5 stars Good item but causes conflicts
I got this item cheap because I really like the game columns, but once you install the game controller it causes conflicts with your Hot Sync function. I tried several times and this kept occurring. Sorry. Unless you just play a lot of games on your handheld it just isn't worth the hassle of having to reinstall your cradle drivers after you have used the controller. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Handy little device
This is a simple and compact way to usekeystrokes instead of grafitti and not pay $499 for a new Clie to do it. It attaches easily and isn't bulky like a large keyboard. It doesn't replace grafitti, just gives you another option. I find it much faster. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars what do u expect???
    Standard Styli...
the black and purple ones look cool.
    White looks staid

    3-0 out of 5 stars They're ok
Buy them just if you need them... I bought them because I lost the one that came with the Clié and since it brings 3 of them... you actually don't need them all.

The colors are not the best thing, I preffered the silver one that came with the Clié, now I use the black one and have the other 2 at home.

3-0 out of 5 stars Wish you could pick your colors and one was loose
A stylus is a stylus, but it would be nice if you could pick the colors you get.I think they have a silver/white, black/black, and black/blue or something; you either get one of each or a random set, not clear to me.Personally, I have one color I prefer, and wish I could just get 3 of those.

Also, one of these was looser than the others, and it kept flying out of my Clie when I opened it.I'm sure there's some odd trick to fixing this, but I haven't bothered to look it up. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Very Handy
My Clie is indispensible for my work.Sony batteries have been unreliable in the past. This portable charger gives me reassurance that I won't be stuck at work with a low battery.I've used it twice, and it worked flawlessly.I highly recommend this accessory for people have their cradle at home, spend long periods away and heavily use their Clie.

4-0 out of 5 stars Oh No!! Low on Power!
Sony's T-665C is an awesome PDA! Downside? So many cool things to do with it that you are liable to run low on power away from homebase sooner or later... (usually at the worst possible time!)

With this product this is no longer an issue. AA batteries are available everywhere. I think it is a bit over priced, but the first time it saves your [tail], you won't feel so bad springing for it!

5-0 out of 5 stars works great!

2-0 out of 5 stars Look elsewhere to protect your screen
First off, I feel screen protectors are a must for PDAs.This screen protector just doesn't do a good job when compared to other alternatives.Does it even protect screens?Sure, but with some faults: 1) Only one protector is included. 2) Too thick. It's not a film like other brands, but a stiff sheet of plastic that feels awkward to write on. 3) It gets scratched! This does not make the protector reuseable.
In the past, I've used the Fellows brand, but opted for this because of the price.Again, it's not worth it.When I'm through with this screen protector because of all the streaks and whirls on it, I'm going back to Fellows.
--Just my observations and humble opinion. : )

4-0 out of 5 stars Good protection for the screen
It protetcs the screen and hardly affect its visibility. For me, it was a bit difficult to put it properly, I'm not skilled with this kind of stuff though.
It worth, I'm even going to buy another for me.

3-0 out of 5 stars Dust protector...
The major danger to your screen is not the stylus; the stylus has a rather smooth tip.No, the danger comes from airborne particles that can come to rest on your screen. When the stylus is dragged over a relatively small particle, it acts like a sand-paper wand.Once you have a little scratch on your screen, it becomes a safe haven for more dust.Every time your stylus drags over the little dust repository, it scoops out a grain or two, digging longer and further trenches into your screen.

The sony screen protector may not be the best on the market, but it does fit the screen, and it does the job.

I installed mine while riding on the bus, it went on fine - no bubbles, no worries.Three stars because it is too expensive, and there is no 2.5 star rating. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Speed & Simplicity
My PEG-SJ22 came with one cord that has two different attachments, one for battery charges and the other for hot-sync to a USB port. It's clumsy and it would be easy to lose the SMALL connecting parts. I couldn't leave it hooked up in one place, because I would soon need it for the other.
Now I can have the UC60K cradle plugged in to an outlet on my surge protector and to a USB port on the back of my PC tower.I simply set the SJ22 in the cradle (which takes up about two inches of desktop space) and it's instantly charging up.I push one button, and I'm getting my hot-sync instantaneously. It's terrrrrific!! ... Read more

    Sony Clie PEG-TG50 Handheld

    Editorial Review

Sony’s PEG-TG50 Clié is a bit of a maverick in terms of its hardware design which incorporates a rather solid flip-up lid which protects the screen and a tiny keyboard.

The PEG-TG50 runs Palm OS version 5, and has Bluetooth built in. The processor is a nice fast 200MHz Intel PXA 250, and 11MB of the 16MB of RAM on board is available. There is a Memory Stick slot if you need more. The screen offers a resolution of 320 x 320 and is square rather than the more usual rectangular shape we’ve seen in other Cliés with a clamshell type design. The keyboard is small so you’ll need to use the stylus or a fingernail to make the most of it, and entering text is pretty slow. Though on the plus side, an orange backlight provides illumination when you press a key, which could come in very handy in dark situations. There is a Graffiti area which is software driven so you can use this for text input instead of the keyboard.

Among the huge amount of software Sony provides pre-installed is a voicenotes tool so you can record memos to yourself, Sony’s own music player which can cope with both MP3 and ATRAC3, and the superb Picsel viewer for looking at documents and images in a range of popular formats such as HTML, PDF, Microsoft Word, and JPG. If you are a user of either Sony’s DSC-FX77 Cybershot or DCR-TRV80 Handycam then you can remotely control these TG50.

The hardware design makes this PDA a lot thinner than other ‘flip lidded’ Cliés, which means it should fit more easily into the average pocket, though it isn’t especially light, and it lacks the digital camera that other flip lidded Cliés offer. Still it does have something of a personality, being pretty unique in the looks department. --Sandra Vogel ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Not the best handheld, but it is still my choice.
The TG50 is not the best Clie, but it is my top choice. I bought it when it first came out, and I broke the motherboard by having it in my bag. I loved it so much I ordered another one on ebay for $110.

    4-0 out of 5 stars TG 50
I got my tg50 from ebay, you all should. It retails for about $300, I got a used one(that is great) for $97, less than I payed for my clie sj20 (b and w screen)
1- keyboard, gotta have it cause i hate graphiti
yah it takes a little getting used to but i like it (but it obviously doesn't compare to the one on the ux50)
2- Truely awesome crisp colorful screen
3-well thought out and overall fantastic design
    4-very thin (1/2 inch thick)
    5-OS 5
i previously had a sony sj20, which has a palm OS (no OS 5), so I am used to a palm pda, but that being this pda is extremely easy to use, I never looked at the manual, but figured out all the features anyway.
    Neccessary accessories include
-a memory stick (64mb if just using for apps, 256 if you want to store a few songs(get these on ebay too, for about half price))
-a case, if you are getting a case that stays on it all the time(custom fit) which I recommend get the Bellagio one, its nice and it allows the pda to hotsync in a cradle while still in the case

1-0 out of 5 stars Down and Out After One Year
What a nightmare. I had bought my Clie less than a year ago when it refused to stay on. After several tries to do a "hard boot" on it where I had to constantly restore y data from my back up I called what Sony loosely refers to as Customer Support.... What a misnomer. It took me approximately10 days just to get a person on the phone that understood the problems with my Clie and agree to let me send it in for warranty repair. I found the Service Tech's rude and very hard to understand. I needed to repeat what the problem was with the unit several times and was told it wasn't under warranty. I had to prove to them the date of purchase...not a problem.

Once they got their hands on it they decided that it had physical damage that caused the problem. I had had an area on the screen that had faded for at least 1-2 months before the problems began on a unit I used several times a day. After 10 days they phoned me back to say it was physical damage and they needed $138.00 to cover the repair and shipment of my unit. After I had paid the ransom for the return of my Clie to me it took another 15-20 days of constant phone calls to get status of the repair. Once they stated it would be sent the next day and to call for a tracking number. Once that they were waiting for parts, then that it was in for exchange due to the fact they were unable to keep it booted. This was my initial problem. Finally have someone call back from Sony San Diego stating that they no longer made my model and want to send me a sub-standard unit to replace it. If I want them to replace mine with a like unit that had the equipment on it I once hadI will have to give them another $60.00. They have little respect for their customers and have no qualms in using the old it was physical damage to make up for a poor warranty service. To this day I still have nothing resolved. I would give anything to have bought from any other company than Sony.
