1-0 out of 5 stars Leaves a lot to be desired
I got this case because I am one of those people who is still attached to having paper and a pen/pencil.While it does have room for a small tablet this causes the case to be too tight on the PDA and as a consequence it is always on.Adding credit cards and other forms of ID exascerbate this problem further. There is also nothing to hold a writing utensil in place. There is one elastic loop meant to hold the stylus and nothing else will fit.

I finally gave up and went back to using the case that came with my Visor.

2-0 out of 5 stars Too Bulky
The craftsman ship of this case is just fine, the quality of the leather is fine grained and buffed to a medium polish -- so how come I don't carry it?It's too bulky. The case is padded which makes it nice to touch, but with my Palm IIIc inside it's over an inch and a half thick which makes it a real handful and not why I went to a PDA. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Works for me
I was reluctant to buy this item when I saw how many negative reviews there were. But it just seemed far too useful to pass up, so I tried it out anyway. I have been using it for more than five months now and it has worked well. I always use it on a flat surface, although I sometimes pick up the Palm to use it while it is still plugged in. I do international travel and it's very convenient to be able to charge my Palm in other countries without having to have another power converter. As is the convenience of only having to hook it up to my notebook, and not also to power.

4-0 out of 5 stars Works fine if used right
I bought this about four months ago. After reading the reviews I was a bit concerned that it would fall apart. After four months I can report that I have had no problems with it, but the design could be better.

I use it everyday at work. I lay my Palm Tungsten T flat on my desk and then plug it in by sliding the cable and the Tungssten T together. On a rare occasion it will look connected when it isn't, but I just disconnect it and slide it in again.

I have used it while traveling as well. I've connected it to my laptop and laid it flat on a bed to make the connection. So it doesn't have to be as flat as a desk or table, but it does have to be resting on something. The connection is not as solid if you are holding it in your hand.

A better design would be to have a tab under the plug so it makes a sturdier connection. There is another product on the market that does this, but I didn't see it until after I ordered this one.

One thing that is really nice is that it has a hotsync button on the cable. I had a hotsync cable for my Palm III that had no button on it. It was a pain to have to turn on the Palm III, find the hotsync feature and turn it on. This makes it a lot easier to hotsync, just push one button and you're done.

When I bought this cable I had hoped to use it in my car, plugged in and laying on the passenger seat. I haven't tried that but I don't think it would work because of the connection. But since I charge it at home and at work, I don't need it plugged in when I'm in my car as well.

The bottom line is the connection could be better.

On the plus side it recharges while connected and has a button on the cable for hotsyncing. If you are going to use it on a flat surface; a table, desk or even a bed, it should work fine.

If you need to have it connected when you have no flat surface; such as while holding it in your hands or on a car seat, I'd suggest you try a different product.

4-0 out of 5 stars No problems whatsoever - and it travels great!
I bought my cable 2 months ago and have been waiting to write a review until I had this item in constant use for a while. I love this cable. I've had no problem connecting and syncing my m515 every day at work, I've taken it on the road with my laptop twice, and there has been no issue with maintaining the connection, syncing or any of the other issues listed in the other reviews.

I was nervous about buying this product because of the negative comments in some of the other reviews. My need for a hotsync cable for work and travel won out, and I ended up giving this cable a chance because it is so much lighter and compact than a full cradle.

I am happy with my purchase so far. I've recommended it to others and they are just as happy as I. I'd certainly buy it again. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars A mixed bag
This kit comes with a multi function pen , a few screen protectors and a case.

    Whats good
The case is good fit for my tungsten E.
Has a holder for the stylus that comes with the kit.

    Whats not
    The multifunction pen
The paint starts peeling off in a few days.
Also the pen rattles while writing.
Screen protectors are already cut to various PDA screen sizes. Hence I will not be able to use most of them.

1-0 out of 5 stars Don't waste your money
The case is not so good. It is open at the top and bottom. There is a velcro strip inside so if you put the other side of velcro (not supplied) on your PDA, it won't fall out.

The 4-1 stylus sucks. It is hard to get out what you want. It is hit or miss on twisting the clicker and pusing in. I usually get the black pen. It takes many tries to get the stylus point or the pencil.

The kit includes 10 protector sheets all for different PDA models. Some are pretty similar, so you might be able to get 6 for your PDA. But not likely.

There is nothing I like about this Kit. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars An awful disappointment
I bought this little card to store MP3s and my digital photos. When the card came in the mail, I gently took it out of the package and slid it into my Palm Zire 71. I immediately tried deleting SplashClock (a program pre-loaded on the card), and received and error screen saying the card was Read-Only. This didn't make any sense to me! After a frustrating ordeal, I noticed the tiny lock tab was missing off the side of the card. I dug the packaging out of the garbage can, and thankfully the little tab was still inside. Mind you, the card is a piece of junk without that little tab.

After managing to lock the tab into place, the card worked very well for about a month. A few days ago, I tried hot syncing 5 or 6 MP3s onto the card. When I took the palm off the cradle after syncing, it said there was NO CARD INSERTED!!! Now it won't recognize my card at all. Essentially, I have a very expensive piece of useless plastic. I am in the process of trying to get my money back. What a rip-off!

5-0 out of 5 stars Huge little storage
It is amazing how much storage you can have in a problem-free littlecard. It comes with softwre, and the Palm just recognize it inmediately without doing anything.I love this card. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Only for smart people
I've been using this pen for a half-year.It's unlike other pens in that you have to hold the pen horizontally for it to correctly select the pencil, stylus or red/black ink pen you wish to use.It also a comfortable pen to hold while working with the pocket pc....much better than the toothpick stylus that came with my pocket pc.I'm actually here online to purchase one for a friend.

Once you realize you have to be smarter than the pen, you'll enjoy this 4 in 1 Stylus.

1-0 out of 5 stars Bad Buy
I thought I would use this pen as a replacement for my Belkin 4 in 1, Bad Bad idea. The black started peeling off within a week of having this stupid pen. Black and Red ink is no good (fade away). Stay away from this pen.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not so bad once you figure out the trick to using this pen
Another reviewer indicated that you have to hold this
pen horizonatally to get reliable device changes. This
seems to be the case.My stylus/pen did not have any
mark on the end that you click so I put one on with
a permanent marker.I found that as long as this mark
is "up" with the pen horizontal, I get reliable pen
changes.Perhaps this stylus/pen relies on gravity to
work. While quirky, this is not an issue once you
figure out the trick.I've not had this long enough
for the paint to peel yet.I got this on sale for
$3.99 and I'm happy so far at that price. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Works great, dead technology
This is just about the coolest little keyboard you can find. It is light, portable, and it responds as well as a normal keyboard. The one downside, which I recently discovered, is that it won't work with the newer class of Palm Devices, explaining why it is so inexpensive now. When I first purchased a keyboard, it was to go along with a Zire 71 handheld. That handheld died, forcing me to upgrade to the newer Zire 72. Much to my surprise, Palm changed the connection for their PDA's, rendering the wonderful little typing device useless.
So, if you are using one of the older models that it can work with, I would certainly say that it is a good buy. But, I would not count on it to last you for generations of Palm devices to come.

1-0 out of 5 stars Will Fall Apart
The piece that holds the palm to the keyboard fell apart - little metal and plastic bits everywhere. It's impossible to put back together. I hadn't mistreated or mishandled it, it is just very fragile. (In fact, I wish I had done something bad to it - I'd feel better.) I do not recommend that you buy this keyboard.

4-0 out of 5 stars Utilitarian
I've just bought the keyboard, and it seems versatile and useable. I would have liked another row of keys; however, it is incredibly small which is nice.

One thing I ran into was that after the first time that I used it, I couldn't hot sync to my PC. I found that if I go into the keboard icon on my Palm and uncheck "Enable keyboard" that I could hot sync again. That was a little scary at first, but now that I have discovered the fix, it's just an inconvenience. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Fussy- poor design
The cradle is very finicky. The fit is not very tight and I have to press down on the top of the palm pilot to ensure the contacts are touching. Plus, it has it's own power plug AND the USB connection. I'd recommend the USB cable instead. It connects snugly, easily and is only one thing to plug in, plus very reliable long term. Charges fast too. This cradle just fell short all the way around.

1-0 out of 5 stars cradle not compatible with tungsten !!!!
The fact the cradle was listed as compatible, but was not was a great disapointment for me. I shop at amazon often and have had good results till now. Maybe it would be better to goa retail store to purchase these types items.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not compatible with Tungsten E!
I can't comment on the quality of the cradle but I have one comment. I ordered the cradle as it was listed as an accessory for the Tungsten E. However, it does not fit into the cradle and Palm doesn't seem to currently produce one compatible with it. Just want to warn others so you don't have the hassle of having to send it back. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Do it before you ruin your screen!
The newer, brighter screens on the Tungstens and Zire 71 are also softer. They scratch easily. My Tungsten T3 was showing marks on the common areas of the screen within a few weeks. Unfortunately, I didn't get these from the very beginning. At least now it wont get any worse.

A little difficult to apply, but if you carefully apply one edge first and slowly roll it on while smoothing with the included cloth, you can get it on perfectly. It will make the screen slightly less bright and can look poorly when the palm is off, but when the palm is on they are unnoticeable. Believe me. As the owner of at least 8 different Palm models, this is an excellent investment in your $300+ Palm. Get em!

1-0 out of 5 stars WARNING
This product is not suitable for all Palm Tungstens. Although the product claims to be for all "Tungsten series" PDAs, it is too long for the Tungsten C (and probably the Tungsten W.)I bought this product because it was listed as an accessory for the Tungsten C but it is not compatible with the C unless you want to cut it to size.

1-0 out of 5 stars Not up to Palm quality standards
Palm should be ashamed to sell this cheap product. The film is hard to apply, darkens the screen and scratches up easily.
For a premium brand they should have looked harder to find a better product to complement their PDAs instead of making a quick buck on a cheap product probably made in China. ... Read more

    Editorial Review

Palm’s latest PDA offering delivers wireless networking, lots of RAM and a faster processor--a PDA for the professional.Palm has embraced wireless networking with the Tungsten C, which has built in 802.11b capability. This is definitely a PDA for power users, as along with wireless networking comes 64MB of RAM, 51MB of which is available for your applications and data. The Tungsten C runs on the new Intel PXA 255 processor, an update of the PXA 250 which has more speed and better power management than its predecessor.

    Compact and powerful
The hardware looks very much like that of the Tungsten W. There is no antenna like the W has, but there is a keypad where the Graffiti area traditionally sits on a Palm. A new version of Graffiti, called rather unimaginatively Graffiti2, is provided, and you can use this to write text direct to the screen should you desire to.

Palm provides a whole slew of applications including Documents To Go, for working with Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents. This is in ROM along with email software VersaMail and software to set up the wireless networking features and run VPN (Virtual Private Networking) sessions. Connecting to an existing 802.11b network is easy as pie -- and a separate manual walks you though the process if required. Once connected, you can use another ROM-based application, Web, to browse the Web using your wireless modem.

Though designed with professional users in mind Palm has not lost sight of the fact that the Tungsten C will appeal to a wider audience. They provide the Kinoma player for watching movies and Photos for looking at digital images. A key notable absence is any kind of MP3 player.

Palm’s addition to the range of PDAs with built in 802.11b is a very impressive one. It has the processing power to cope with wireless activity and the memory to deal with the data you’ll download and share while using wireless.--Sandra Vogel ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars A PDA worth your while
When I aquired this PDA two years ago, I was a total newbie
where gadgets are concerned and this is my experience in all
this time that I've had it.

First, the fact that you have 802.11 connectivity is a real
plus. You usually don't want to carry around a laptop or
a similar item, some specific websites (not all because of
the browser's incapability to show popups and other typical
web features) can be seen, and all of the infrared goods are
a plus when used with your favorite IRDA enabled cellphone.

Second you have a color and a more decent resolution than of
the usual PDA's. This gives the Tungsten C a display that can
help pictures show in a more proper fashion. You get an email
program that has its limitations, but useful otherwise.

Finally, the only two drawbacks I found is that you need to '
upgrade to a more recent version of the PalmOS and the battery
after some time does not give all the time advertised. Overall,
the product is good and will be of great use once you have it.

3-0 out of 5 stars Tungsten C Support!
Tungsten C is a great product when it is working but when you need support forget about it. The support number you call is not a toll-free number and they keep you on hold so long that you don't even want to bother. When you finally get a hold of someone they can hardly speak the english language. PALM SUPPORT is the worst and the next time I think about buying a new PDA I will probably get another brand. It is too bad that this company can't back the great product that they sell!!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars The best Palm I've ever owned
I've had my Tungsten C for 6 months now and it is the best Palm I have ever owned (and I've been through quite a few).At first I thought I wouldn't like the thumb keyboard, boy was I wrong - it is one of the features I like the best. You can enter text so quickly, compared to using grafitti. And the Wifi access.Another great feature.All-in-all I highly recommend it.If only the screen was bigger. ...
