1-0 out of 5 stars shamelessly flawed
This is a potentially great product that's on the market despite being shamelessly flawed. I bought an ipod, but found that customer support was expensive and useless; I use it for jogging and basically the battery gets me through only one workout before it needs recharging; iTunes, which is the only way to get songs onto the iPod, is terribly limited. Most of all though, it's the battery that makes me resent Apple most. They're making a fortune selling something that (surely they know) is terribly flawed. It also makes you feel disgusted with the mass media, which is pushing this product because it's "cool," without paying to attention to whether it actually works.

1-0 out of 5 stars Died after 1 year and 8 months.
I used to love my ipod, but the fact that it recently died on me after a year and 8 months of use has left me with a very bad taste in my mouth. The most painful aspect is that I did not abuse it or use it heavily. The apple store guy at the genius bar informed me that a replacement would cost $250. Better than paying full price, but I am utterly disenchanted and will not pay for another ipod given my experience. Sorry Apple, you got to do better on the reliabilty issue before I even consider another ipod.

5-0 out of 5 stars GREAT THING TO HAVE
Ipod is definatly better than CDs, I love it! I downloaded all
my favorite songs on the Itunes music store and on my cds and then downloaded them to the Ipod. I like it because it never skips, I can walk around with it everywhere. I take it everywhere
and is fun to take everywhere. I own it and keep it in my room
and play it sometimes when I want more music. I am gonna try it
for the car sometime to see how it works in the car, especially
when I'm on the road. It is definatly so much better than CDs.
I've downloaded more than 150 songs on Itunes on my computer.
    Great item. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Belkin TuneCast Portable Music FM Transmitter (F8V367-APL)
At first I bought this product and it absolutely sucked. Poor soundquality, impossible to listen to. Saw some of the other reviews about adding headphone extension cord and it works great. Went to radio shack got 20ft of headphone extension cord, put it in the pocket behind my seat and now the sounds is much better. Only time quality sucks is with heavy bass or very electronic sounds. Good product. I wish it had the ac adapter to plug into cig lighter just so I would never need to turn it on and off.

4-0 out of 5 stars Works well
I bought the Belkin TuneCast Transmitter from ebay for a lot less since I was a bit weary about some of the bad reviews. My main goal for this device was to be able to listen to internet radio (launchcast, etc.) through the stereo at work. I work in a lab and only 2 FM radio stations come in decently and they always play the same music over and over so I needed some variety. After copying all my CDs from home and getting sick of them too I decided to try this gadget. It works beautifully, the signal is clear provided you are close enough to the receiver. My computer is not, so initially there still was quite a bit of hiss in the signal. I followed the advice of other reviewers that figured out that the antenna of the transmitter is in the short cable. Instead of buying a headphone extension cord I just ran a length of wire from the receiver to the antenna of the stereo and coiled the ends of the wire around the antenna and around the transmitter cable. I am now about 30 ft away from the stereo and lots of fluorescent lights and machines in the way to cause electromagnetic noise but the sound is as clear as directly off the small computer speakers, and with the stereo I can turn the volume up and hear it throughout the lab. You should also turn the volume on the computer or iPod or whatever up before you turn the stereo volume up. If you turn the stereo volume up too far you will always get static.

I'd give it 5 stars if it came with a DC adapter or a jack to plug one in.

4-0 out of 5 stars Alright if ya know what to do...
For the first 10 minutes, i hated the thing. But i wasn't going to take it back because i really needed something to play my CD player in my truck with. (My Chevy Colorado doesnt have a tape or cd player). After messing with it i temporarily gave up. The next day i found out, after doing some extensive research by means of disassembling, that the antenna is the 3 inch cord!! I immediately ran in the house and grabbed a 6ft male on both ends stereo cord from my computer speaker set, a female-female joiner and ran back out to my truck. i plugged my belkin in the joiner along with the 6ft cord and plugged the other end in my cdplayer. I then coiled up the remaining wire and put it in my glove box along with the belkin (which was turned on). I pushed play on my cdplayer and it works PERFECTLY! NO static/interference. I thought this product sucked majorly-which it does unless you do what i did. Try it, whatcha got ta loose? ONLY THE STATIC! ... Read more

This is for old iPods, it doesn't fit the new ones.

4-0 out of 5 stars Tim Robertson MyMac.com Review
.....I love my iPod, but I am going crazy worrying about damaging the thing. Really, when you spend almost five hundred bucks for a little thing to play music on, you tend to be a bit over-protective. So one of the things I wanted to do was upgrade the 20GB iPod's case, something better than the cheap sleeve Apple ships with the unit.

Enter the FlipStand from Speck Products. This is a nice solution as both an iPod case, as well as a desktop stand. The case is all plastic, with a piece of clear plastic over the iPods display. The FlipStand completely protects the iPod in a somewhat durable plastic enclosure. There is a hole at the top of the unit so that you can slip the headphone jack in, and it is wide enough to support the volume control extension the 20GB-iPod ships with.

The top of the FlipStand folds open, so that you can slip the iPod down into the unit. It also flips back to reveal the FireWire port and the Hold button.

The first thing you notice is how the iPods control wheel is hidden behind the plastic, dark Grey door. This door actually flips around behind the iPod, turning the FlipStand into a stand for the iPod. A case and stand, all in one attractive solution! Once you move the Grey door, you have easy access to the spin-wheel of the iPod, as well as Menu, Forward, Back, and Play/Pause. Larger fingers, however, will find pushing the buttons a little more difficult while using the FlipStand, and the buttons run right up against them.

Also included with the FlipStand is a detachable plastic belt-clip, so that you can take your iPod with you more easily.

All in all, I like the concept and design of the FlipStand. It seems well built, and in the two weeks I have used it, I have had no problem at all. Getting the iPod out of the FlipStand is no quick task, though. At least my 20GB unit fits very snug in its new housing. This is a good thing, as you don't want the iPod to be able to slip out easily.

For thirty-five dollars, you will enjoy the FlipStand. And while I have a few more iPod cases coming for review, they will be hard pressed to make me give up using the FlipStand on a regular basis.

Pros: good protection, great concept. Blends with the style of the iPod well. Multi-functional as both a stand and a holder.

Cons: somewhat cheap construction. A full years use will probably result in something breaking on the FlipStand, either the top flip-top, or the Grey door. Plastic joints around the movable parts do not look too sturdy for long-term use.

    Editorial Review

Yolanda Adams has enjoyed a meteoric rise up the charts since her sparkling 1999 debut, Mountain High, Valley Low. A Christmas and live album later, she's back with her most polished and deliberate release yet. Adams calls on friends Shep Crawford, Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, and Kevin Bond to again produce a silky-smooth backdrop for her commanding vocal presence. While the topical matter on Believe seems geared toward a secular market, there are gospel strains on the tracks "Only If God Says Yes" and "Thank You." Most of the beats center around the radio hits "I Gotta Believe" and "Never Give Up," inspirational ballads built to showcase Adams's beautiful voice. There's some edgy funk to boot, with Elektra label mate Karen Clark-Sheard on "Fo' Sho'." Overall, the crossover appeal of Believe seems destined to make Adams's star shine even brighter. --Michael Lyttle ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Full of inspiration.A wonderful, wonderful album.
I enjoy this whole album.Everytime I listen to this CD I feel so much better about my day, and my faith is recharged.I like I never have to skip a song when I listen to this CD.There are so many times I press repeat and just let a song repeat 2-4 times and start singing right along.Yolanda was blessed with a beautiful voice, and her songs are always right on time. This is one album you should have as part of your gospel collection.Yolanda gives her all in every song she sings.Believe is an excellent, excellent album.

These are the songs I will repeat when I need to recharge my spirit:

    2.I gotta believe
    6.Unconditional
    7.Anything
    8.Only if God Says Yes
    12.I'm thankful

I'm thankful is different from what Yolanda usually does. Her songs are usually mid-tempo or slow temp songs, but this one is upbeat and hip.It was a treat for me, and a song I love working out to.

Some of the wonderful Lyrics to Thankful:

You're there to pick me up
    Whenever I fall down
    And I can't say enough
'Bout the things you've done for me
    Without you in my life
    I don't know where I'd be
    Release my heart felt praise
Gonna life my voice and sing.

    Chorus
Gonna raise my hands up to the sky
    Use every breath to glorify
Your name your work your way
    'Cause I'm so thankful
For life, for health, for strength to live
    For sharing love and fellowship
For every blessing that you give
    I'm thankful

I'm thankful there is an artist as talented and annointed like Yolanda to spread her words of inspiration through music. This is an album you must have in your collection.

5-0 out of 5 stars Take it from a Singer, her vocals are unsurpassed.
First of let me start off by saying how ashamed i am of the people who choose to negatively review this album. People need to understand that as a singer gets older their vocal ability gradually deterioates and in order to maintain a strong, powerful voice for as long as possible a singer cannot sing so powerfully and aggressively on every single track of their album. That being said let me say that their are two songs on this album that alone are well worth the price of this album. "Never Give Up" and "I'm Gonna Be Ready" are arguably two of my favorite songs of all time. These two songs define why Yolanda is such a super-talent and also explain her tremendous success to date. She sings them with so much emotion, and so much grace and power that while listening(especially to the riveting climaxes) u cannot begin to understand how she has any competion as an artist. Her voice is in tip-tip conditon and she belt these songs out like its nobody's business. Of course if you are looking for Yolandas most impressive display of vocal talent then buy "Songs From the Heart" one of her earlier (strictly gospel albums". This album however is one of my favorites not just of hers but of any album ive ever listend to, and in my opinion (and im not rich)I would have bought this cd if it only had two songs, "Never Give Up" and I'm Gonna Be Ready". Thanks Yolanda for never dissapointing a truly grateful fan.

5-0 out of 5 stars AN INSPIRATIONAL GIFT !!
I saw Yolanda Adams perform on the 4th of July Celebrations and was in awe of her voice.BELIEVE is my first Yolanda Adams cd and it surpasses any expectations I may have had.
The cd begins with "Never Give Up" a song filled with such inspiration and it gives a true opportunity for Yolanda's voice to soar.
Throughout the cd, with the ballads and the more funkier numbers, Yolanda fills each number with the message of the lord, filled with hope. The cd is a gift for anyone who wants a reminder that there are brighter days ahead. Each day I listen to this cd to get the message and strength I need to help with the problems that I am now dealing with.
Yolanda, your voice and true inspiration help me so much and I THANK YOU !! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A Gospel Classic
I agree with all the great reviews on this album. Fred Hammond is one of my favorite artists, and his music never disappoints. This album, however, stands out above the rest; it contains so many of my favorite songs and they are all so meaningful: "Let The Praise Begin", ""We're Blessed", "I Wanna Know Your Ways", "Your Steps Are Ordered", "Jesus Is All", "Please Don't Me By", plus some tracks I was less familiar with but learned to love: "No Way, No Way (You Won't Lose)", "I Wanna Be Yours", "He's God", "You Called Me Friend", and "You Are My Song." I saw this album in a store and didnt get it. What a mistake. I later heard it at home and was pleasantly surprised to hear my favorite hits! Well that copy got lost and now I have my own. This album is a definite must have for all gospel music lovers. You won't be disappointed. Buy it!

5-0 out of 5 stars Incredible
I give this album 100 out of 10!!!! EXCELLENT album. No Weapon, Please Don't Pass Me By, Are You Ready For Your Blessing, I Wanna Know Your Ways, Jesus Is All (Remix).....the list goes on and on. This guy knows and writes quality music from the heart to the people. I think this is the best album he has done, a mix of live and studio recordings with excellent vocals and greater than great musicians (especially the drummer)...

5-0 out of 5 stars fred hammond - a vocalist for the Lord
This album is truly an album meant not only to please the Lord, but it has the capacity to lead people to the Lord.Hearing the instruments alone was truly trememdous - then adding Fred Hammonds vocals with the instruments; it just blew me away.I just love his voice and how he truly sings his heart out for the Lord. You can feel his sincerity. He has such a melodious voice. I know that he inspires me to spill my heart out for the Lord and his songs are meant to uplift and encourage all of us who are truly trying to make it in this world. This album alone was responsible for helping me get by the many trials and tribulations in my life that we trying to burden me down. The song "No Weapon Formed Against Me Shall Prosper" helped me make through the year 2002.I pray that everyone thinking about buying this album will indeed buy it - because it is worth more than all the gold and silver in the world; Fred Hammond and his Choir truly sang their hearts out.Let me not forget to mention his band who also played liked the Lord was coming to hear them. This is truly an album inspired by the Lord. Please purchase it, you will definitly not regret it.May God Bless Fred Hammond and the Radicals for Christ. ... This is the must have Kirk Franklin CD to add to your gospel collection. Even though it came out over 10 years ago, this is still my favorite CD of his. As much as I am a Kirk Franklin fan, this is the one that I can listen to straight through without using the skip button. If you don't have it, get it. If you already have it, listen and enjoy it again.

Donnie McClurkin is on fire again! On his last album he gave us some Jamaican offerings. This time around in a couple of his songs, he samples some calypso beatsto inspire and encourage us.
But above all, he sings love songs from his heart to his Saviour. And by his song he points the way home.
'The Spirit and the bride say, "Come!" And let him who hears say, "Come!" Whoever is thirsty, let him come; and whoever wishes, let him take the free gift of the water of life.'

2-0 out of 5 stars O.K.---as far as it goes
I had the free version for years, then upgraded.

The free version is full of bugs.Naturally tech support is arrogant and unhelpful, and basically consists of "buy the upgrade (Jukebox) because that is what we support."

Finally I did buy Jukebox at about version 5 or 6.Unfortunately, most of the same annoying bugs exist, and the tech support is not any better.(The web site help is usually down.)

The worst thing is that the program (both free and purchased) is too stupid to recognize that your computer is already connected to the internet, which is vital to take advantage of the program options and save tons of time when ripping. So easily three-quarters of the time you just quit in frustration from trying to convince ("trick") the program into realizing you ARE on the net already!

Ripping is easiest when the program locates on the web the album & track info. This is very hit and miss.If someone has submitted that info a few days ago (it takes a while to get into the system) up to several months ago (the info often drops out of the system after a few months), then when you put in your CD (and IF the program knows you are connected to the internet), the info pops up right away and you take off ripping. If this is not the case, you spend a lot of time typing in all of the info; worst of all, often the program will send your typing to the net but not enter it into the tracks you are ripping!!!(In this case, you end up going into the tagging feature and retyping it all over again!Plus you really need to go change the actual computer file names as well!---VERY annoying.)

    Some other specific comments:

Yes, you do get 5 free burns with the free version---they are worth every cent you pay for them, absolutely nothing! They are terrible, usually full of annoying skips. The good news is that if you buy the upgrade, the burning is very good.

It is true that "suborganizing" is possible in spite of what some have said.In the library you simply click the window/column heading to resort by track number, album, or any other sub-category, just like you would in any program/file window.

It is true that there is a lot of neat tagging info you can enter to have an incredible, comprehensive library with all kinds of background, your own ratings, etc.The bad news is that even a very minor computer crash will wipe all of this work out and you end up with nothing. There is no way to save this info to files, so if your software becomes corrupted and you have to reinstall, you've just lost and wasted all of that time with your great tagging.

Playlists are similarly sensative. While being able to create some super playlists (I've had some thousands of songs long!), you will lose them in a computer crash.(You're supposed to be able to save them as a file that can be backed up, but it doesn't work.)In fact, just upgrading from 7 to 8 or 8 to 9 will destroy your playlists. You have to figure out ways around this annoying problem.I burn CD's for any playlist short enough to fit on one CD (which I can then rip and recreate after a crash). For any long playlists, I end up writing them out, and then physically recreating (a bother but not too bad) after an upgrade.

It is true you have no control over how and where files are ripped. You will end up relabeling, resorting, and re-nesting/imbedding folders to fit a descent organization system; however, I don't know that any program would do this acceptably anyway, you'll want do you own sorting to make things workable.(And you have to delete from your library and re-add any moved files.)

When burning CD's, Jukebox often makes errors about how much will fit on a CD.It will tell you that you still have room, but when you add one more song, during the burn the program will tell you that the disc is full and all songs could not be reocorded!(Worst, the one song that gets dropped off is NOT the last one you added, but a randomly selected one between the first and last!)It's best to do your own math adding up the song times to know how many songs will fit on your CD.

I upgraded to 9 recently. It is nice how easy it is to plug in your key for the free upgrade from one version to another, or from the free version if you have to reinstall after a computer crash.I can't say that there has been any improvements over the versions to the bugs in the BASIC functionality, especially the problem of not recognizing being already connected to the net.

It is true that the program is much better than Windows Media Player, but com'on, what kind of compliment is that?Idiots can make something better than Microsoft. For the last five years I've only used MM, so I have nothing recent to compare to.After all the time and effort of getting used to the quirks of Jukebox, I find myself very reluctant to go through another Huge learning curve-so in a way I'm stuck with Jukebox.

5-0 out of 5 stars get this one instead of version 8!
if you're happy buying cds and now downloading them over the internet through musicmatch's download service, then you should stick with version 7. i found version 8 a step down from version 8. this has absolutely everything that you would want in a media player, you can rip, listen to and burn cds very easily. it has very good track tagging so you don't need to go typing out the names of your mp3s. although some users might not need or want many of the features on musicmatch, i find that musicmatch is the best all-in-one player out there for people with large music collections. I've explored many different media players, including windows media player, but i have always come back to musicmatch.
as for people saying that you had to play the tracks in alphabetical order, this is not true! as long as you have the track number written on the track tag, then you can select an option to play in track order.
as well as its many features, you can also download a programme called evillyrics which is compatible with musicmatch. while you listen to songs, evillyrics will find the lyrics for you and you can view them beside musicmatch. it's brilliant!

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent product... versatile and easy to use
I have been a MusicMatch user since version 4, so maybe I am one up on new users, but I find that this program is spectacular! A lot of people have written reviews stating that they can't play songs in order by track number... these people need to open their eyes! MusicMatch allows you to list many different aspects of the tagging information in your library listing (just double click on the library window to edit), among them are MP3 encoding bit rate (so you know what quality the MP3 is) and track number.
If you want to list your songs by track number, you can do it by simply clicking the arrow at the top of the column. If you want to list your MP3s by artist, each of the artist's albums, and by track order within each album, just click the sort arrow at the top of each column in THAT order! How simple is that?
This newest version has a lot of other wonderful features too, such as supper tagging and file renaming (to create standardized file names). It also continues to use MusicMatch's wonderful album-art-as-part-of the-tag feature! I love this! Everytime I listen to an MP3, the album art is displayed on-screen as I listen. This is especially fun when I rip MP3s from old 7" singles, and scan in the original covers! :)
MusicMatch is also fast and reliable: if the error-correction feature is enabled, it will notify you if it had trouble encoding something, which will allow you to verify the quality of THAT encode, without having to double check all of them.
I admit that it is a little big and boxy, but it CAN be minimized during playback, and there are a LOT of easy-to-download skins that are smaller and less boxy than the default skin (frankly, I like BLOOP, but I miss the Paisley skins from versions 4 and 5).
For less than 15 bucks, this product is REALLY fantastic... and if you purchase the lifetime upgrade key, you need never worry about not having the latest version! A+++++!!!! ... Read more
