4-0 out of 5 stars I Really did love this camera
But with the new ones coming out, I felt a little outdated.
I definiteltly love the floppy disk feature of holding images. It makes life soooo much easier!
Whenever I ran outta discs, someone always had extra or I could easily buy them very cheap.

The only bad thing was the battery life was soooo short and towards the last few months Ive had nothing but disc errors and lost pics.

I finally upgraded to a new camera but I don't regret this one at all.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great camera for capturing memories in todays world!
...this camera is great cuz the best part you take pictures are they are on floppy already so you can jus email, save or print them out instantly...no more connecting to USB port and all that hassel!...trust me its worth the price you pay! Its includes a car charger to recharge the battery if your taking a road trip...;-)...great product for college kids!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great camera for the 35 mm professional
I have owned this camera for over 2 years now, and absolutely love this camera. It takes great pictures.I normally use the 640x480 pixel option.I normally get about 23 pictures to the floppy on this setting. There is an exposure modifier, which will allow you to darken bright pictures, and brighten dark pictures, by modifying the apeture, and shutter speed. They are both controlled automatically, but they are adjustable up to +1.5 to -1.5.There is also auto, or manual white balance, for use in compensation for incandescent, and florescent lighting. There is a 14x optical zoom, one of the best in the industry. There is a 52mm ring, for attaching filters. ... HP PhotoSmart 100 Portable Inkjet Printer
Average Customer Review: 4.5 out of 5 stars
    Electronics
    list price: $159.94

    Editorial Review

Forget having your digital photos printed by someone else. With the PhotoSmart 100 inkjet printer, you can print full-color 4-by-6-inch photos at up to 2,400 x 1,200 dpi on premium photo paper, or at lower resolutions (but still great-looking) on other papers.

Print directly from your digital camera with a CompactFlash, SmartMedia, or Sony Memory Stick memory card, or connect to your computer using the built-in USB port. HP photo imaging software is included. Printing is a bit slow, with a 4-by-6 photo requiring just under three minutes, but quality takes time.

The printer has a markedly compact design, with dimensions of only 8.8 by 4.3 by 4.7 inches, and it weighs less than three pounds, so you can take it with you when you're on the go. Sorry, Mac users, the HP 100 is only compatible with PCs: Windows 98, 2000 Professional, Me, XP Home, and XP Professional. The printer is backed by a one-year warranty, with the option to extend it to three years at additional cost. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars initially look awesome. but it fades over time.
love the compactness and stylish look of this printer.
initial quality of the print out is comparable to regular photo prints or perhaps even better. compact flash drive built in is absolutely convinient.

However...after putting print picture on my friz door for 2 month. skin tone color has changed to completely green and other colors faded to dark purple. it wasn't exposed to direct sunlight neither. other pictures all suffered discoloration after 2 month. even the ones that were kept well in a frame. it was all printed on premiere papers that came with the printer.

is this the limitation of inkjet technology everyone already aknowledged prior to purchasing? or am I the only one suffering from discolorization and fade?

4-0 out of 5 stars Produces great pictures, but be careful about handling them
The picture quality is supreme, and no complaints about the printer overall, except for the ink door, which won't stay shut.

The photopaper used on this printer, however, can be easily damaged, so care must be taken on handling it after your pictures are printed.Perhaps I'll find a 3rd party paper, or HP will improve theirs.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Printer
I've this printer for about 4 months now. I love it. I also have an HP880c for our regular everyday printing. We also use that printer for pictures, but the clarity and ease of use is nothing compared to the HP PhotoSmart 100.At my cousins baptism we printed pictures from 3 different digital camera's (Canon, Sony, and Fuji). Everyone was impressed with the ease of use, how quick it printed and how good the pictures look.

It only prints wallet, 3x5 and 4x6 pictures, however, we really don't print many 5x7's or larger. If we do I just use our other printer.

If you have a digital camera this is a great printer to go along with it. Shop around and you can find a great price too. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars How many pictures will it store?
How many pictures will it store? It is the most commonly asked question from digital camera enthusiast but usually the question that is the most difficult to get a straight answer about.Well, considering I worked in the memory industry for over 7 years I can help clarify this perplexing question and do so unbiased as I have since changed industries.

The Sony MSA128A 128MB Memory Stick, like most 128MB cards, will store on average 142 pictures when used with a 2 megapixel camera, 106 images when used with a 3 megapixel camera,64 pictures when used with a 4 megapixel camera, 51 images when used with a 5 megapixel camera, and 40 pictures when used with a 6 megapixel camera. These numbers are based off the assumption that you are going to shoot your images at the highest quality JPEG setting available for the camera and understand that they are estimates and may be off by as much as 10 percent due to numerous factors including the complexity of the scene being shot and the compression algorithm used by your specific camera.

I truly hope this review was helpful to you in determining whether this card is the right capacity for your specific needs.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good product but high price
I got this 128 MB Memory Stick because the one that came with my Sony Cybershot it's only 16Mb (only 9 pics) and this makes me believe that they intentionally give you a small chip so you buy another of their pruducts. My suggestion is to purchase a Lexar or another brand, because works as well and the price is lot cheaper, Any way I got this one and works perfectly, It's only the price why I rated only with 4 stars

5-0 out of 5 stars works as it's supposed to

3-0 out of 5 stars Optimized for HP printers
Kodak paper is primarily for HP printers.I have used this paper on a variety of printers including HP, Lexmark, Canon and Epson and the quality is substandard on all printers except the HP.Also tried on various models of each printer manufacturer with the same result.

Some printer companies design their printers, ink and paper to work together. When this continuity is compromised, the output quality is often substandard.

    In short, HP=ok.Other=**danger**

1-0 out of 5 stars Very bad results with Epson 820
Don't expect to get good picture quality with this paper if you have an Epson Photo 820 printer.I tried differents settings, including those suggested by Kodak, and always got very bad results.

1-0 out of 5 stars The paper [bad]
Using CANON S750, the outcome is terrible. It is dark and blur. Canon's Photo Paper Pro, or Kadak's Premium Photo Paper did produce high-quality pictures, almost no different from the photo developed in a lab. ... Read more

    Easy CD Creator 5 Platinum
Average Customer Review: 2.5 out of 5 stars
    CD-ROM (05 March, 2001)
    list price: $99.99
US | Canada | United Kingdom | Germany | France

    Editorial Review

Admit it: After installing your first CD burner, you transferred everybyte of audio and data on your hard drive to CD simply because it was so coolthat you could. Whether you're an audio-CD burnaholic or simply perform theoccasional hard-drive backup, Easy CD Creator 5 offers excellent options forgetting the job done. This powerful program delivers an exhaustive collection ofdata transfer and formatting options behind a super-slick interface.

Pick just about any file format and this program provides an innovative way ofstoring it on CD. Burning an audio CD is a piece of cake for this tool, as iscreating a video CD and picture slide shows, transferring audio from a cassetteor phonograph to CD, and archiving a hard drive. A nifty CD label creator helpsorganize your archive as well.

As expected, audio CD burning options are comprehensive. In addition toCDA-formatted audio (playable in most CD players) a great feature converts MP3tracks into CD audio (and vice versa) and pumps up the audio quality of MP3files lost during compression before transferring the batch of tracks to disk. Asound-transition control allows you to fade songs out or in, add a gap betweentracks, or crossfade songs (great for mixed CDs featuring live recordings). Forthose party-mix CDs culled from various sources, a normalizer function smootheseach track's volume levels across the CD.

Easy CD Creator 5 is much more than an audio-CD burner. A photo-sharing toolframes pictures into self-running slide-show presentations that can be backedwith music. Videophiles will enjoy the video-CD capabilities. You can add anyQuicktime, AVI, or series of still images to the layout interface, configure thelayout, then burn the CD as an MPEG-1, viewable in compatible DVD players.

CD burning is a CPU-taxing endeavor that'll spit out flawed disks if thehardware isn't up to the task. Easy CD Creator 5 requires a 200 MHz CPU orfaster, and the recommended 64 MB RAM should be doubled to avoid those annoyingbuffer-overrun error messages. But if your system is up to par, Easy CD Creator5 should churn out CD after CD of beautifully formatted disks. --EricTwelker ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Will Not Load onto XP
Despite many attempts and a complete reinstall of Windows XP, my XP machine refused to load Easy CD Creator 5 Platinum, rendering the progam disc and all update discs useless.

Probably if you already had the program running in a 98 environment and then upgraded to XP you could keep it running with patches and updates. So take statements by resellers that they provide update discs with a grain of salt.If you cannot install the primary program, the update disc is of no use.

The program is a good one but you have to run it on a 98 machine.

5-0 out of 5 stars CD Burning for Dummies
OK, so you just want to burn music CDs and save Data?? Then CD Creator Platinum 5 should be your #1 choice. In spite of what some of the previous reviews have to say, this product is the best and easiest format you can get. Make CDs, labels and save data simply and easily. If you want life to me more complicated than that, look at other products that do everything but shine your shoes, if of course you can figure out how to use them in six months or less. Roxio should still offer this product as the down and dirty option to the new and very complex products that they and other companies now offer. Find CD Creator Platinum 5 and buy it. It really does the job.

1-0 out of 5 stars Windows XP Users Beware of the Product
Easy CD Creator works fine on older versions of Windows. But don't try to use it on anything newer than Windows 98.The program freezes so badly it can't be soft booted. The CD's are ruined forever.Sometimes the drive won't even open, it just keeps burning for hours and can only be stopped by a hard boot. The "fix" for Windows XP from the Roxio site took 50 mins. to download on dialup and then it failed! My advice is to avoid Easy CD Creator until Roxio comes out with a better product. ... Pacific Digital U30109 16x10x40 External USB 2.0 CD-RW Drive
Average Customer Review: 4.0 out of 5 stars
    Electronics
    list price: $149.99

    Editorial Review

Pacific Digital presents this USB 2.0 rewritable CD drive for quick recording to CD-R/RW media. Compatible with up to 700 MB and 74-minute recordable CD media, this external drive can fill an entire disc in under five minutes.

Using USB 2.0 technology for quick access time and data transfer, this CD-RW drive is capable of reading up to 6 MBps and recording up to 2.4 MBps. An external drive, you can install it on your current setup without the hassle of adding another internal drive. If you don't have an available USB 2.0 port, an add-on card is provided that plugs directly into an internal PCI slot.

Pacific Digital uses an automatic speed control that selects the best recording speed for the current disk's capability and recording conditions. Combining this, a 2 MB buffer memory, CAV writing support, and powerful recording software, buffer underruns and unusable CD "coasters" become a thing of the past.

Pacific Digital covers this drive with a one-year warranty on parts and labor. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars I don't recommend this drive or any Pacific Digital product
Despite having all the system requirements, my pc started to freeze after installing this drive.Every time I turned on the drive, I had to reboot and lost everything.I tried calling Pacific Digital, but you can't actually get through to talk to someone. It asks you to leave a voice mail on a machine and I didn't get a call back until after I had already gotten so frustrated I returned the drive.Their online support is unhelpful too. They claim to have an online chat available, but the hours are limited and try as you may, you can never actually get through during those hours.I will never buy Pacific Digital again!

4-0 out of 5 stars good machine, bad software, documentation
This burner really does install very easily -- which is good, as the "manual" might as well have been written in Esperanto for all the assistance it provides. Other reviewers have noted this, too.

Frustrating, how tekkies can continue to produce such good equipment, then support it with drivel. Had to coax Windows 98 to find the drivers, which wasn't really a problem, had it up and burnin' in about 15 minutes...but the technically fearful might not have found it so easily. Did 15 consecutive burns with just one "coaster," and that was caused by a conflict in another program I was running at the time.

On to the software: The basic CD burner software works OK when it comes to simply copying another CD. But in building a menu of files and folders to back up onto a data disk, everything froze solid on five consecutive attempts. At that point I downloaded some Nero software, which worked like a charm.

From what I can tell, the "bonus" software included in the box is 100% junk, don't even bother loading anything beyond the basic burner software...and even that stuff seems dicey.

To sum up: Nice piece of equipment, if you don't mind the feeling that you're on your own once you've bought it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome burner!!
I was very surprised at the ease of installation and the speed at which this external USB burner creates music cd's.. It only takes about 5 mins to burn about a full 80min cd.. It was also compatible with my Musicmatch 6.0 software that was previously installed when I got my Dell computer awhile back. So I really haven't messed with the burning software that came along with the package. Installing the USB 2.0 card was a breeze also. Overall, I would highly recommend this external USB burner to anyone. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Sadly these Memorex CD-RW discs are useless
Bought a box of 10 a few months ago, but they refused to work in both of my burners.Could not successfully write an iso image to them nor could I format with Drag-to-Disc.I spoke to Memorex, they sent me replacements in the mail. They still refused to work!!They ended up sending me another box, but this time they sent me Ultra Speed discs, still no luck!! Unbelievable. They finally refunded my money.Stay away from these discs until they get this mess straightened out!

2-0 out of 5 stars EasyCD Creator and Memorex CD-RW
I've just purchased the CD-RW 1x to 4x multispeed. I tried to use DirectCD to format the disk and it gave me an error. I thought, oh no, I have a bad CD. I restarted my PC and then used XP's erase CD feature which is put out by Roxio which puts out DirectCD. Once the disk was erased I tried DirectCD again but got the same error, something about the CD being bad and I wouldn't be able to read or write off the CD.

I tried NewTech Infosystem's NTI CD/DVD maker, erased the disk again, and used their FileCD program which is a packet writing sofware just like DirectCD. FileCD did the job! I tried then XP's software and it worked too but this software is not packet writing so you can't use the disk like a floppy.

Conclusion: Roxio's DirectCD will not work with Memorex's CD-RWs. Use NTI's FileCD to do the job and although it's not as great as DirectCD 'cause you have to eject the disk and re-insert so other programs can also see the data, it is still the best bet!

    Good Luck

1-0 out of 5 stars Memorex CD-RW Discs
I recently installed Easy CD Creator 6 and attempted to format several brand new Memorex CD-RW discs. All attempts on two different PCs with different burners (both with ECDC6) failed so it had to be either the software or the discs. I tried with a new Sony CD-RW disc and everything (formatting, burning) went smoothly. I am convinced Memorex CD-RW discs are fatally flawed. ... Read more

I was hoping that this book would be a definitive reference text on how to use PhotoSuite 4, but I found that the majority of the text is devoted to pap that I'm not interested in (e.g., entire chapters on, believe it or not, "Cheap gifts and chic digital accessories" or "PhotoSuite 4 for fun and profit"). The few chapters that actually deal with using the product itself are too lightweight to be much assistance. In all fairness, this book would be good for young people under age 12, ultimate computer-phobes... If you're looking for a serious product reference, skip this text.

    Editorial Review

Ideal for backing up files or making custom music CDs, this CD-R medium can record up to 700 MB of data or 80 minutes of music. Compatible with 1x through 16x recorders, it can achieve up to 1 million read cycles and has an archival life of up to 100 years. Since it is standard CD recording media (CD-R), rather than rewritable (CD-RW), a disc may only be used once, although with the proper settings in supported software, you can add to the disc in more than one recording session until it is full, a procedure known as multisession recording. However, the disc cannot be erased and used again.

Each disc in this package of 50 comes with a one-year warranty. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ANYTHING ELSE!!!
I'm a freelance photographer and I use the Memorex Black CD-r exclusively for archiving my stock photo library.I have never had a dud in the 50-pack spindle, I have burned cds using either a Dell Notebook or Apacer CP-200 Disc Steno. I have had no problems reading these CD's on any other computer: Dell, IBM, HP, Compaq. Maybe some people experienced problems when they first came out (2000/2001) but the ones manufactured now in 2004 are the best. I wouldn't rely on any other CD for archiving pictures.

    1-0 out of 5 stars Don't work
I have a very nice Plextor PX-504UF CD/DVD burner that won't do these black Memorex CD-R's. They came in a box of cool color CD's so I only lost part of a spindle. Buyer beware.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Media
The black writing surface of these media lends itself to error-free writing, as the dark color absorbs the light emitted from the laser. 50 cd's written to without a single problem. Highly recommend if the price is right. ... Read more
